I
am
offering
my
personal
experience
at
the
Emergency
Room
at
Saint
Francis.
I
see
polar
feedback
here.
Mine
is
one
of
many
extremely
positive
ones.
I
don’t
know
whether
I
had
been
lucky,
or
perhaps
there
were
very
few
patients
requiring
ER
attention
on
a
Wednesday
night.
I
received
nothing
but
prompt,
companionate
and
professional
attention
from
doctors,
technicians
and
staff
at
SFH.
I
showed
up
with
a
severely
damaged
left
ankle
at
the
ER,
on
Wednesday
at
around
10:30pm.
I
borrowed
crutches
before
coming
to
the
ER.
But
there
were
wheelchairs
at
the
front
door,
so
I
moved
into
one.
After
a
quick
chat
with
the
front
desk,
I
waited
for
a
few
minutes.
Richard
took
me
into
a
room
to
check
out
my
vital
signs,
and
subsequently
gane
me
ice
packs
to
apply.
There
were
only
a
few
patients
waiting.
Dr.
Jenna
Choi
came
to
take
a
look
and
was
concerned.
Johnny
took
three
sets
of
X-rays
from
different
angles.
Dr.
Choi
examined
them
and
informed
me
that
there
were
fractures.
I
think
we
waited
to
for
an
orthopedic
surgeon’s
opinion.
But
that
didn’t
happen.
So
Dr.
made
splints
to
prevent
ankle
movements,
and
wrote
me
detailed
instructions
to
follow
up
with
an
orthopedic
surgeon.
When
I
was
discharged
from
ER
it
was
already
1:30pm.
I
did
see
a
lot
patients
on
gurneys
in
the
much
bigger
treatment
area
compared
to
the
waiting
room.
I
can
imagine
how
hectic
it
would
have
been,
if
I
were
to
show
up
during
the
day
with
the
waiting
room
filled
up
with
patients
requiring
different
levels
of
care.
I
subsequently
followed
up
the
next
day
with
an
independent
orthopedic
surgeon
affiliated
with
and
recommended
by
SFH.
He
already
had
my
X-rays
by
the
time
I
showed
up
at
the
office.
I
found
my
experience
far
exceeding
my
expectations
of
a
generic
ER
visit
based
on
what
I
have
heard
from
people
before.
Perhaps
I
was
lucky.
But
if
even
I
have
to
show
up
at
a
crowded
hour
next
time,
based
on
my
personal
experience
I
know
doctors,
technicians
and
staff
would
be
doing
their
best
in
the
face
of
any
constrains,
to
make
me
feel
comfortable
and
well-cared
for.
