A wonderful escape to a little haven of undisturbed nature. The unpaved path winds through thickets of dense trees to the borders of a large pond. The peace was disturbed by very loud noises from the nearby gun shooting range which is a real shame and does mar the experience. Lots of birds and wildlife can be observed with quiet, careful watching.

Good for those that are nearby or just passing through, and it was much smaller than I expected, though not disappointing; I'll probably come back when the foliage is on the trees. I noticed someone was birding in the area with a nice zoom lens (pro grade,) and I did spot a really nice bird of prey (it might have been an owl as it had more fluff than usual, however I thought it was a type of hawk.) It should be noted that this land was owned by a family that used it to acquire fire wood for personal use, and much of the wood that is on the ground appears to have been sitting their for some time, allowing for a compost. It isn't what I would call nature unaffected by human intervention, though it is nature none the less. I've only been to Joppa Nature Preserve and would recommend that for those intending on a nature trail that's paved in concrete, however I did enjoy this one a bit more as it's more along what I was expecting to find.

Loved it. Portals. And the energy is nice. Too many hungry mosquitoes tho. Make sure to take lots lots of tea tree oil or deet.

This is an absolutely amazing walking path. If you do it in a figure 8, it is slightly more than a mile. Highly recommended.

This trail is not stroller friendly, there are some narrow and rocky entryways. Great for small walks with kids, lots of mosquitos and watch out for snakes.

This was a pleasure to find this gem. Nice easy track, good for quick run or max 1hr walk slowely. If you start going left, keep left all the time to see most, including the channel and lake which is a perl of this walk. Nicely connects with the fileds and small children playbround next to it. I havent noticed the traffic noise (like others noted), considering close by proximity to highway.

I had no idea that this little nature preserve even existed after growing up in Carrollton and now living here several years as an adult. We heard about this fun twilight lady bug release going on the Saturday evening before Easter and decided to check it out. It was a cute little event but the tour through the nature trail was great. What a cute little trail with some fun wildlife to learn about. This area is also a great spot for taking blue bonnet photos so we go some good ones while we were here!

Great quiet park. Well kept paths. Wonderful markers explaining the trees you’re looking at. I’ll definitely go back as everything starts blooming.

Not bad, tons of wildlife, too short for my liking and within earshot of an outdoor gun range.

Large nature preserve, well-managed. Unpleasant to walk through because of the constant noise from the nearby pistol club.

Super easy trail, especially for the very young and young at heart.

Such a lovely shaded walk. You have your choice of trails. Great for dogs and kids so they don’t overheat. The parking is so convenient. Love this place!
