This place is an oasis in the middle of the suburbs. It’s like taking a step back in time. Beautiful and lively animals. My child had a blast just running around. The staff is awesome, and I cannot wait to go back!

Had a great time with the family here. They had decorated for Christmas and have done a truly wonderful job with the lights and having syned to the music in various areas! Come see the lights with your family, make scores, take photos and make memories!!! There are souvenirs for purchase and some food items. It was not very crowded at yhe time but it could get that way real quick. Parking was next door at a store called BT furnishings. Parking was free but there is a cover charge to go inside the Museum. There were animals there as well so the farm aspect was still there, pigs, chickens, etc. There are bathrooms and a gift shop that had other souvenirs as well. We spent about an hour here. The place is not really that big, so if your drive is a little more than a half hour or so there might be better venues that are more economical for the time spent for my family as we live not far away it was worth.

I had heard about Heritage Farmstead Museum but never had a chance to visit until this year. They have this holiday lights event at night and we decided to come with the immediate family. We had a party of 12 and we really enjoyed our time there. The parking was easy, the Museum had staff outside directing traffic. Inside, there were plenty of fun photo sets for both kids and grownups. They were selling mini donuts, hot chocolate and even s'more sets that you could cook over these small sections with little fire pits. Everyone had a blast. We will need to come back to see what the place looks like in the morning one of these days.

We celebrated my daughter's 7th Birthday in Cowgirl theme at the Heritage Farmstead Museum. A big shout out to the Birthday celebration coordinator Mary Ann, she was really nice to show us around n took every detail into account. My daughter n her friends really enjoyed on the farm, they played scavenger hunt n fed the chickens. We decorated the Pole Barn in the theme and all the kids had a blast.

Lights on the Farm is a true holiday magic maker! 🎄✨ This enchanting experience exceeded all expectations. The moment we stepped onto the farm, we were transported into a whimsical winter wonderland. The intricate and elaborate light displays, synchronized to festive tunes, left us awestruck. The warmth and hospitality of the staff added to the cozy atmosphere. Don't miss the hot cocoa and treats to complete the experience! Lights on the Farm is a must-visit holiday tradition for anyone looking to sparkle their season with joy and wonder. Five twinkling stars from our family! ⭐️❤️

This place was so cute. The caretaker seems to love her job and working with the sweet animals. Everyone was very good at maintaining respect towards the farm animals. Definitely recommended if you haven’t been.

Nice activities for children, thought there are minimal activities- the ducks and chickens tend to roam friendly which was toddler enjoyed. If you love history, be sure to tour the property on the farm. If I recall correctly, it was built in the 1800’s, pretty cool to take a trip in a Time Machine.

My daughter had the best time going on a field trip to the Heritage Farmstead Museum! She got to escape electronics and learn how people got along without such things. What a great experience!

I am enjoying volunteering here. Great place to bring the kids. Friendly sheep and goats. Three pigs and Poncho the donkey. Also, chickens, guineas, ducks, and a turkey. History is maintained to always be authentic.

This little gem is truly beautiful! I went and there were no docent available to take me in a tour inside the main house. Erma a very friendly volunteer from the ‘Young House’ volunteered to take me in a tour and she had a wealth of information & answered all my questions. Very serene place 🌱

This is such an enjoyable place for the whole family. There are plethora lights, very well placed, and designed for kids to run around and enjoy. Additionally, there are so many spots for everyone to pose and click for memories. And also, it's quite a big place to walk around for over an hour - that adds to the relaxing experience. The icing on the cake was the marshmallow barbeque experience. I'd only expect more varieties in the food trucks - such as fries, although my daughter loves the donut-holes. Highly recommend!!

Tip: most crowded is at opening, there were a lot less crowds 7pm onwards. Wonderful place to visit to see the lights, decorations, and farm animals (chickens, hogs, Shrek donkey, and turkey). Although relatively a small area, we spent almost three hours, since you walk through it like at ikea, and you have option to buy hot chocolate ($5) and smores kit. There are about ten has fire pits around the large Christmas tree where you can sit and make your smore. Hard to find a spot though unless later in the evening. Kids loved playing on the light up hopscotch on the ground! As well as the Trolls performance. Besides with Santa there are a ton of great places to take selfies.

Heritage Farmstead Museum is a historical treasure! Stepping onto the grounds feels like a journey back in time. The well-preserved buildings, knowledgeable guides, and authentic artifacts create an immersive experience. The farmstead offers a glimpse into pioneer life, showcasing the challenges and triumphs of early settlers. The meticulous restoration of the Victorian Farrell-Wilson House is a testament to the commitment to preserving history.

Wonderful experience and your!! We learned a lot about the owner’s farmstead and history through the guided house tour. Despite it being a bit cold and rainy during our visit, we still got to experience everything including seeing all of the buildings, feeding the chicken, seeing the animals, and a tractor ride!! While it may look like a small farmstead there is a lot of history and things to do for the family here. I love the unique items and trinkets at the gift shop too!!

Our office gave out tickets to enjoy the lights on Light up the Farm. It was a pleasant surprise finding this attraction. The scenery at night with lights was beautiful! If you're looking for something fun to do at night during the holiday season this is a great alternative.

Really cute historical farm! My kids had a great time at the story telling of 3 little pigs. Their favorite parts were the tractor lead wagon ride, and seeing the animals. Great place for a short morning trip with little ones, and love that it's conveniently located in the heart of Plano. Some of the volunteers working there were a little rough around the edges with the kids, especially for people who are interacting with young children. Otherwise it's a really lovely site! Definitely recommend.

We were extremely grateful to have the Heritage Farmstead Museum as a venue for our Volunteer Appreciation Party - with over 100 attendees! The children enjoyed the animals & hayride. The covered outdoor dining area, tables, & chairs were very nice & comfortable. Unfortunately - the electricity was out (possibly due to the storm the night before) so the ceiling fans and decorative lights didn't work. But the June Texas heat was relatively mild - so all went well. Great place for group gatherings!
