Had a wonderful time camping and hiking here. The park was so clean, they really do an outstanding job with the upkeep, it was perfect. Restrooms and water are limited, but they had more water and toilets than most primitive camping spots. Hiking was great, but there lots of cyclists, so make sure you're listening for them, or you might get plowed into. The greenery and animal life were amazing. We saw lizards and snakes and deer, and lots of beautiful red birds amongst the bamboo. It was just a beautiful hike. I highly recommend this park!

Beautiful park located in the north part of the Grapevine Lake. There's a gate at the entrance but I entered without paying. Ample parking space. I walked the west Trail 4 and 5 from here and it took me about 2 hours and a half to do the loop. All the paths are well marked. Beautiful and quiet scenery, great place to disconnect and see wildlife (saw a snake). Just be a bit careful with bikers as they tend to go fast.

Great place to visit Lake Grapevine. There’s no charge, plenty of parking, and great views. Several picnic tables and space to spread out. There’s a little beach area.

Spent 3 nites at primitive camping site. Signing in and booking ONLINE was major pain, but was worth the trouble. Amazing Sunsets and Sunrises, very quiet…until the weekend crowd came in on Saturday. Bathrooms need some help. But for the price it’s a deal. Plenty of nearby Starbucks, Targets, etc to get bizness done😎 Only really disappointment was the amount of trash, broken glass, etc. such a shame that we have people with such disregard for our public placesπŸ˜‘πŸ˜‘πŸ˜‘πŸ˜‘πŸ™

A fun place to go fishing, swimming, kayaking, or mountain biking. Always have a great time coming here. Great place to spend time with friends and family. The Marina is nice hand has a good restraint.

I couldn't find a map of the campsites anywhere, so I'll post one here. There is plenty of space to explore and do some fishing, biking, and hiking. The overnight spaces are limited - I booked on Saturday and they were mostly open, but the place was almost full by Sunday night. That brings me to my only dig on the place... it's a bit crowded, so you won't get any real "escape to nature" feel and you might (like me) get some noisy late-night neighbors that you can't avoid. The lakeside views in the morning were definitely worth it.

I live nearby and this is one of my favorite state parks for many reasons. There are so many areas to explore, camp and take photos at that you can find a new area every time you visit. There are plenty of campsites and areas to 'picnic' at both near campsites and independent of them. There are a couple of small areas with a sandy 'beach' to make it easy to get into the water for kids. For those wanting to fish or just relax without the splashing, the rock ledges along the water in several areas are the perfect spot. There are areas along the ledges that you can get in the water, but not too far which also allows you an area for a fire when allowed. It's an extremely popular spot for photographers as well. You could take all of your clients there and almost never have to shoot in the same location....even though most do. Depending on the time of year, the grasses/flowers are gorgeous and the sunset over the lake is amazing. Like most lakes in Texas, Grapevine Lake is no different. It will rise easily during storms and rainy season which will cause access to some areas impossible so make sure to check the website online first. They do also close areas for upgrading.

All those reviews saying this park located on the north side of lake grapevine has beautiful sunset views are 100 percent correct! I went for evening photography one Sunday last month. It was my first time visiting. There was a man at the station when I drove in. I thought maybe there was a fee, but nope. He waived me through. Besides the stunning views, there is a boat ramp. Plenty of parking. I will definitely return and explore more of what it offers. For a realistic view I have uploaded my unedited photos. And of course the edited versions to inspire other photographer hobbyists. :)

Wanted to explore the Northshore trails on Lake Grapevine's North shore as my wife and I had never been. It was an amazing place to get away from the city and just listen to nature. The surroundings were so in ture with nature you could hear the grasshopper jumping from one blade of grass to another. You could hear the wind blowing over the top of the water and hear the ripples in the Lake come to shore. My wife and I got to the water's edge and just sat on some rock and listened to the birds, the wind and the water for about an hour. It was so peaceful and calm. And with the sun hitting the lake it was like something out of a movie. After a week of stress, the rush of daily life and the chaos that is today's world it was nice to take a step back in time and get rest and in ture with a little nature. Loved the trails and I would recommend the Northshore trails to anyone.

Murrell Park is the go-to place for Grapevine when it comes to picnicking next to the water as you watch beautiful sunsets. This is really the defining feature of Murrell Park (as well as Rockledge Park), and that is the sunsets you will experience here. The best part about Murrell Park is that it is, at least in my visit, completely free. There is an entrance gate up front, but the guards there will acknowledge you and let you in. There is also a hiking and biking trail towards the right side of the entrance gate. And, for those who would rather dine next to the lake, you can make your way towards Rockin' S' Bar for great food and music when you turn right after the entrance gate. Overall, Murrell Park is Grapevine's beach haven.

Tucked into a quiet area of flower mound (near Lewisville/Coppell), it’s a must visit for people who would like to go for biking and hiking. It’s definitely not a big park, but nonetheless enjoyable. Suggest you get your drinks and snacks if you would like to spend the afternoon.

Great MTB trail for beginners and advanced right riders. Fun features, lots of spots the trail intersects with service roads. Beautiful scenery.

This is a good place for sunset photography, it's also a great place to hike in the mornings, lots of wildlife and not crowded. There is construction in the park and access to restrooms is very limited.

It'll slow your hiking pace having to share with all the bikers. Not much of a breeze in the heavy trees and under brush. Restrooms have been "under construction" for years. Wildlife is abundant and beautiful.

πŸ‘πŸ‘ Loved the trail, great mix of terrain. Wooded hillside, lake side, swamp and prairie. Definitely presented some descent challanges, overall was pretty happy we came out and road the full 13 miles. I'll definitely be back. Some parts of the trail were a bit overgrown, but no biggie, they were also wo...
