This place was awesome! It doesn’t have to be a suit and tie affair to be five star. We could feel the good vibes as soon as we walked in. The staff and owner are very friendly and welcoming. We had never tried this place before and I knew my family had never eaten African food before. They were very pleased and entertained. Anton made a fresh traditional meal for me and I felt like part of the family. I can’t pronounce half the stuff, but I recommend going in there hungry. Round 2, tried the Oxtail and my wife had the triplet breakfast. This place is like having a family member that cooks for fun. The food was delicious and we left needing a nap. Yep, just like visiting family.

I went to Anton’s today and loved the experience. My food felt like an at home meal, the store is so nice and clean, their Biltong is the best I’ve had and the fried bread Wow. Above all Anton and Nicole, such nice people!!!

If your looking for a authentic South African restaurant for a little taste of home, this is the place to go. The food is delicious and their customer service is outstanding! I’ve been there multiple times and have never been disappointed. It’s also a very family friendly restaurant. I can rest assured that my children can be children here and not have to worry about them not sitting still and being quiet the whole time. The owners children are also very inviting and inclusive by sharing their toys/books with my kids when we come to dine out. I wish other restaurants were more like this. Anton’s is an all time favorite for my whole my family.

We had an amazing experience at Anton's. The owners are very friendly and welcoming and the food is AMAZING! I am South African and enjoyed to have a taste of home. My American husband enjoyed the meal just as much as I did. The owners were super accommodating and I felt like I was visiting family for lunch. I will most certainly be purchasing their yummy products online and cannot wait to visit Texas again, just to go back to Anton's.

A seriously nice place, and great food to boot! I had a lamb curry bunny chow, slap chips, and a carrot cupcake. The bunny chow bread was pillowy soft and the lamb curry was well spiced and super tender. I got my food to go so the the chips were a little soft by the time I made it home. I’m sure if I had eaten in house they would’ve been better, but they were still tasty regardless. The chef also very kindly gave me the carrot cupcake, au gratis, because he said the chips portion size just seemed a little smaller than normal. I told him it looks decent to me, but he insisted. I’ll be heading back there soon for sure!

QUICK VISIT REVIEW. We came upon Anton's on our way to the movies. We stopped in and were immediately greeted by the owners. Pressed for time, we did a walkthrough of the grocery portion and found it well stocked with various African products. Final purchase was two custard cups which were very tasty. We definitely will be back with our kids next time to try their delicacies.

I love this place. I went there this morning with my wife and kids. My boys were interacting with family that operate the restaurant. I've never had South African food, but the flavors are nothing far from what we've already had. I love the oxtail, it was so tender and cooked correctly. You have to try the meat pies is well. Everything here is fresh and taste like there's a lot of love put into this food. Must recommend place for anyone that wants to take a step away from the mainstream stuff going around

Wonderful spot! This was my first time having South African food, and it was a great experience. The staff took the time to walk us through the menu before we ordered, and the chef explained each dish as they were brought out (we ordered a bunch of stuff and wouldn’t really have known what was what). The food was delicious! Also, this place is half restaurant and half market, so it was cool to spend some time looking at all the products from South Africa.

I was given a hard time for leaving LA and that I'd never find "culture" in TX, but as usual, they were all proven wrong. This place is DELICIOUS!! I had a conversation with the owners and I love how passionate they are about their food and maintaining authenticity and freshness. I can't wait to take my family back!! Try the lamb curry....a little spicy and absolutely scrumptious.

I frequently have the pleasure of dining and shopping at Anton's South African restaurant and are always blown away by the experience. From the moment you walked through the door, you are greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff are friendly and attentive. The food was simply amazing. I ordered the bobotie, a traditional South African dish made with minced meat and topped with an egg. It was cooked to perfection and full of flavor. They also have a market where they sell various imported treats, from chocolate to spices and everything in between. Overall, Anton's South African restaurant is a must-visit for anyone looking for delicious food and great service. I give it a full five stars and can't wait to return for more of their amazing dishes.

we tried the food at the cafe, and everything was delicious. i wasn’t even starving but demolished my food! the beef and mushroom bunny chow is wonderful. i am from the UK and so thankful to be able to pick up some of my favorite snacks here without traveling further. the prices are reasonable considering the import fees

This is one of those places that's almost impossible to review because there's really nothing like it in the metroplex. Anton hails from South Africa and most of the dishes have their roots there. South African food is very unique in spice/flavoring as it mixes flavors from all the European countries, Africa and India. Anton makes all the food from scratch and also specializes as a Baker. So you have wonderful pastries and breads and minced meat pies, Germanesque bratwurst, curry dishes and even a type of beef jerky called biltong. The bread reminds me of my grandma's kitchen she had wonderful baked goods. To add to the mix, they also have a market where they sell South African and European candies and goods as well as high quality meat and various other items. The place is a family run restaurant where you are frequently served by the owner and his wife and will occasionally see their kids helping out or playing together. When you're eating there it feels like your part of their family meal. Another fun thing is that they just added an ice cream machine. For a buck we go and get a nice little treat for our kids (way better than a McDonald's cone). I prefer the salted caramel flavor. It's also really good with a flake chocolate bar added to it.

True South African food in Texas. As a South African missing home food, Anton's took me back home in one bite. Absolutely delicious. Definitely going to be having more. Staff were very helpful as well.

Really good, very friendly staff, good prices! The farm bread (looks like a donut), is amazing. 5/5 would recommend!
