Good beer and DJ but very poorly managed and run establishment. Food not good "nachos" and had to listen to two large barking dogs for more than an hour inside the restaurant. Servers and bartenders; except for the older guy were on their phones texting much more than working, manager came out from the back every 20 minutes for 30 seconds to pretend he was doing anything, until the dog situation erupted. This place has a lot of potential if management and/or ownership starts to care about things.

Worst experience at this place. Having just moved over from Ireland to Miami I was super excited to see that John Martins, my local pub, was showing the six nations rugby. I go along for the first half for a Guinness only to be hit with a $30 receipt. Without any prior warning, they were charging a $20 service fee for the rugby game to be shown. I complained to the bar staff and they brought the owner over. He explained that there was a sign in the window, which he showed me. The sign was placed facing out on the inside of a reflective door (see pictures below). I told him this was unacceptable to which point he picks up my sunglasses on the bar and slams them back down again (they’re now scratched and cost $150). He then swore at me and told me to leave. Wonderful treatment from my fellow countryman. Here’s a fun game...examine the first picture, and then the second - even up close it’s hard to make out the fee. Just to clarify, I’m not upset about the $20, I would’ve happily paid it had it been made clear and I’m all for paying the extra if it means supporting a local establishment to put on this type of event, but it should have been made much clearer and the treatment I received should have been much kinder.

I cannot be happier to come back to John Martin’s in Coral Gables. We missed this place greatly. The new and improved JM is beautiful, welcoming, and always fun. We came in for a beer and an appetizer (Brisket Flatbread) which was delicious. As always, Saturday night had live music which was awesome. There is no doubt in my mind this is the best bar in the Gables.

Wow super nice, good service, live music, fish and chips was delicious. Sat in a booth and the lighting in the booth areas kind of dark. For sure the new John Martin is a lot of fun.

Not a good place overall. Me and my fiancée sat at the bar. We ordered the following: - Old Fashioned: average, not served with a single piece of ice but nuggets ice. - dirty martini: too average - truffle brisket croquette: terrible. La carreta coquetas are x10 better - JohnMartins burger: we ordered medium well, they brought it raw (almost alive) but they changed it to a medium one 🤷🏻‍♀️ I guess I had to accept it (French fries were delicious) - passion fruit margarita: it looked like an ice tea but good flavor FINAL TAB: $120.54 (15% tip) We were looking forward to this place since it reopened recently but we don’t recommend it 😞 service was good

What a wonderful place, the renovation is amazing. I used to go there a few years ago, and always was a great place for a drink. But now, it's wonderful atmosphere, great music and fantastic food. Definitely a place to enjoy with company, or just for yourself and a drink.

Place was not busy but the service was slow, it took the waiter 20 minutes to get the order and another 20 minutes for the drinks. Food was OK, nothing special. I had this place on my restaurants bucket list but I dont think I will ever come back.

Went to meet some friends for dinner on a Thursday night and I was super impressed. I hadn’t been to John Martins in years and boy has this place changed. I really enjoyed the atmosphere, the live music and the food. My favorite appetizers were the Guineas meatballs, the Pork Belly and the Duck flat bread. All delicious!! I had the Branzino and yum!! Will definitely be returning to this hangout.

Great tasting food. Real pub atmosphere. Quick and friendly service. The salmon and Shepherd's pie was fantastic. Went here after the show across the street. Convenient street parking. Clean restrooms. Safe location.

The new decoration of the place is beautiful. A lot of natural light comes in, and there are many plants, which I love! But it still gives you pub vibes 100%. The Guiness is the best-est! The food is slightly too greasy for my taste, but other than that, perfection! 💫

We went here for lunch while working close by. It was fairly fast, the food was great. It wasn't too busy too, which was nice. I had the Guinness burger, which was really good. I would eat it again. The fries were the show stopper, double fried thick steak fries. Super crunchy without being too dried out, still soft in the center. That's how a fry should be. Amazing.

Love it! Excellent customer service!!! I asked for a beer they didn't have but the bartender made a mix of 2 beers and boom!!! Best imitation ever to the one I asked. So good I don't think I like the original anymore... In al seriousness, great taste and service. Decoration is awesome, the DJ no so good...at least Thursday night anyway!!!

Great place! Food and drinks were very delicious. Oddly enough I had salmon but it complements the cheddar grits they offer. Also very miami twist for the potatoes salad make sure you ask about it! Mac and cheese was great for a kid because there is no kids menu but have options to make it work.

Having been to Ireland on vacation and experiencing a wee bit of dining at a castle and pubs a few years ago, it was a pleasure dining at John Martin's Miami version of Irish food on Saturday evening! The restaurant has been tastefully remodeled with comfy leather booths, dark cherry wood furniture, great wallpaper, and mood-changing, relaxing, darker lighting. I loved the exterior also, especially at night with the green neon lights! The interior is classy and cozy! Live music was playing great tunes in the background. The ambiance is great! The service there is excellent! The staff is as friendly as the Irish in Dublin were. They make you feel comfortable right away. We were greeted warmly by Natalie, who gave us a great booth to sit at. She introduced Marie to us, who was our server, and treated us like VIPs. She was very attentive the entire evening by checking on us frequently, filling our water glasses, knowing the menu, and clearly answering our questions. We met John, the manager, and Frank, the general manager, who were fun to chat with and took good care of us. We were also introduced to the owner, Tony, who has a great personality and sense of humor. He is very customer service oriented, which we appreciate. For our appetizer, we ordered the Irish Nachos. We expected them to be somewhat different from Mexican nachos, but these were too bland. Our suggestion is fewer chips, more seasoning and tomatoes on the veggies, and a different cheese. There were many menu choices that we were curious about, but we chose to share The Irishman 22oz Delmonico Ribeye with potatoes, crispy onions, onion bacon jam and a Whiskey Demi Glace Unfortunately, we both had grissel in our steaks. I'm sure that was an oversight and not the usual occurrence. We didn't send our steak back and just cut off the grissel. I was impressed by the quality of the steak knife, which was heavier and sharper than any I've used at any restaurant. I get irritated with wimpy steak knives that I have to press down hard with. We also shared the Fish 'n chips, which were delicious!! The fries were really good, crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside and perfectly seasoned. Yummy. One suggestion: bigger pieces of cod. We accompanied our dinner with Malbec wine for me and an old-fashioned cocktaill for my daughter. Both were the right choice and were excellent. For dessert, we shared the banana pudding, which was awesome. We had quite a large doggie bag to take home :). We used the valet service for parking because of the heavy rainstorm. There is also street parking. We will definitely return again in the near future!

Great food! Here is the burrata, Irish Nachos, and spinach mushroom flatbread. The nachos are potatoes. Also tried the $0.75 wings Tuesdays. You can choose all the sauces on the side. Renovations are beautiful. It can be loud when there is a party or game.

Love this place! First time here and exceeded our expectations. My son was craving the fish and chips - they didn’t disappoint. Our server, Marie, was amazing. Friendly, nice and gave great service. We’ll be back!

Marie was our server. She was very attentive and we really felt taken care of. We ordered the classic burger it comes with fries and we also had the house espresso martini. It was Friday night and they had a DJ. Good vibes and overall a fun time.

It was a last-minute choice. We told my teenage son to pick a restaurant. Wow, we had the best surprise. The food was terrific, and the staff was courteous. Fun fact, my kids even loved the playlist—a place to come back.

Six of us enjoyed one of the best meals out in Coral Gables here. Everyone agreed to come back tomorrow. Every meal was tasty and fairly priced. Drinks were good, deserts were huge and the service was fantastic.

Not your typical pub. It's a great space for events or to grab a bite. The manager, John, always asks, “How was everything today?” the customer experience is excellent, but the food is even better!

Food was delicious. A little pricey but worth it. The restaurant is very pretty inside after they remodeled it. Our server Ana was amazing and we were a large group of cousins!

Remodeled local irish bar in Coral Gables located at miracle miles, I talked with local customers and they preferred the oldest traditional bar design , for me it’s perfect modern Irish bar design. The bar is large and comfortable, some high tops tables around the bar, room for dinner spacious and comfortable very well decorated, they use a projector screen in the dining room when there is an important game, the TV in the bar have the perfect size and good location to see from any angle of the room, good audio system. The bar have a wide variety of bourbons and Irish whiskey. I have visited this place 3 times, in the middle of the afternoon and at night, on a quiet day and at on a very busy nights by the Miami Heat basketball playoffs, very good atmosphere, happy hour from 4 to 7pm is ok, nothing incredible. The food is very delicious, most of the dishes have some slightly sweet sauce. The dishes I've tried here and I recommend: flatbread brisket, fish and chips, chicken wings (very delicious, marinated with spicy orange sauce, my favourite), john martins burger OMG what a delight with caramelized onions and roasted pork belly, perfect portion, the french fries are super crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, the dessert I recommend is the banana with bainilla ice cream and bread pudding with a touch of caramel sauce and dulce de leche and rum raisins. Cocktails I've tried: old fashioned with bourbon infused with coconut, old Cuban , I asked with Bacardi 8 (the Chinola liquor is part of their recipe ) very refreshing The manager is very attentive, bartender have good hospitality, Many is the man.

Happy to see this new and improved gables staple back open. Nicely designed, comfortable, well staffed, great bar food, a perfect addition to the hood. Could be a few bucks cheaper but this is Miami and rent ain't cheap.

The place is too bright and the bartenders are beyond rude. Especially the the bartender with glasses. She was super rude. Scream at me for claiming I was screaming at her, when I wasn’t. We decided to leave after she screamed at me. I complained to the hostess and they didn’t even know the bartender’s name.

This is an $8 Guinness, look at that pour. $12 gets you an actual pint. No comment.

Made me open a tab at the bar. Snotty attitudes by bartender lady. Perfect for tourist. Never coming back. Flanigan’s ten times better!!! If you need a fancier experience without the bull then opt for Yardhouse in Merrick park

John Martin’s is back on #MiracleMile in #CoralGables and the NEW menu is full of Irish staples and modern day comfort foods that are delicious. Our group stared off with a long awaited (fight for every drop) John Martin’s Signature Potato Soup 👍 🥄 We followed that up with Truffle Brisket Croquettes, Mini Pork Osso Buco and Pork Belly Bites. Then came #Guinness Glazed Meatballs in Grits and Fish and Chips which were served flaky and hot. The wait was not in vain. Come to John Martin’s and enjoy these modern classics.

We've been there many times in the fed great meals but the fish this time But the batter on the underside of the fish was mush. Our friends escargot go was great and so was our waiter. Will go again but I'll be specific about how I expect the fish to be cooked.

It's your local pub. Come around and check it out. The ambiance will draw you in. The regulars will become your good friends. And drinks comes with a generous pour. ...You'll find me warming a bar stool here on any given night. The food is underrated. You have your traditional Irish dishes along with an eclectic mix that will please even the snobbish palettes.
