We came here for cinco de mayo and the line was obviously out the door. However, I had made reservations a month in advance and they did not seem to have a way to distinguish between folks with reservations and folks wanting to put their name on a list, so the hostess pretty much just ignored all of us. It was about 30 minutes before we were finally seated. Once seated, our server did the best she could to attend to us but she seemed spread pretty thin. The food was good. Chips and salsa came with 2 salsas that we kept and used for our entree. The melted cheese was delicious and the steak was just ok. They have a wide variety of margaritas, but they were too sweet for my liking so I stuck with the traditional margarita. Overall, we had a good experience, they just need to figure out the seating service.

Pretty looking restaurant in Coral Gables. The food was pretty good. Queso fundido was amazing. Guacamole had a great twist to it with the chicharrón on top. The steak tacos were fresh but really lacked some flavor - cilantro was minimal, onions were tasteless. I had to use a lot of salt to flavor them up. The drinks were very good but drink service was slow - we got our food way before the first round of drinks. Service was okay - nothing phenomenal but waitress was friendly. Overall a good place if you want a “fancier” restaurant for Mexican food rather than the local stands.

I have eaten several times in this restaurant and I just went for first time after the renovation. I like better the way that they redecorate the place. It has a good atmosphere for a date, family parties and get together with friends. It's' very cozy and romantic. The quality of food is great. The menu was changed and it's more sophisticated and the plates are more decorated. We ordered as an appetizer the guacamole. Fish tacos. Two plates of "carnitas". Lemonade. We order too much because at the beginning the waiter told us that one plate of carnitas is good enough for two people. I suggest to the restaurant to train the waiters better about the menu, because the portions are for one person. In general the quality of food and flavor are good. Prices are aligned with Coral Gables' restaurants, but these ones are a little bit pricy for what it is. Parking in the Street. It's located on Ponce de Leon and Giralda Av, which is nice to have a stroll after eating.

This was one of my favorite spots but they restructured, remodeled and they have mostly new staff. Some of the food has changed. Worst of all for me is the margaritas which were one of the best in town are now average. It takes too long to get a waiter, drinks and appetizers. I hope they get it together before I completely tap out. I will give them another shot in a few months.

We went to Talavera Nov 2 , Halloween night!!! Our server found us the perfect table, we start the night with Guava and Mango Margaritas and tequila shots!! Food was good, guacamole is a great choice for appetizer. This place is in a great location in Coral Gables, you can walk after dinner by the boulevard and maybe go into another bar or roof top! Try Talavera and discover the good things around the beautiful city of Gables.

Excellent food. Loved the ambience. Our server was super helpful in suggesting some wonderful dishes that we were both really happy with.

Service was great but the Carne Asada was not worth $28. It was overcooked and the dish doesn't come with rice. Just a small portion of plans, guac and vegetables. But the drinks were great and so was Genie and the rest of the staff.

We stopped here for supper tonight and enjoyed. The atmosphere was very relaxing. Our waitress provided great service and the food was good. Couple specifics, there's only street parking here. They don't use flour tortillas at all, so all tacos are corn tortilla, no burritos on the menu. Their house margarita is excellent, very authentic lime flavor to it.

Food is salty or soggy but waiter was very nice. Bathroom is a single stall. My taco hard shell was soft (possibly due to sauce) my friend’s dish had so much sauce that he thought it was a soup. My salmon was ok but the diced potatoes underneath were so salty. I think this is the second time I tried it in a span of four years and it still didn’t impress me on cuisine but it has a nice atmosphere. Hopefully others have better luck with their menu choices. The bread pudding could have been sweeter or soaked longer in the wet ingredients but at least it was more legit than some other places.

The first few times, I wasn't impressed...but...they have improved on service. Alba was our waitress and she was on top of things. We went on a night that was full inside and out. Eating outside, they have gathered more tables and space so they have to serve plenty of people. The food was surprisingly quick. We had the ceviche, the enchiladas suizas, the flautas, the enmoladas, and the guava cheesecake. They weren't like mom's but were good.

The huarache de cochinita pibil was not authentic. The huarache was like a brick of dough and the pork was not seasoned properly. There were hardly any black beans on it. The sauce to accompany the huarache seemed unrelated. I would not order it again. But I must say the ambiance and the service were outstanding.

I came here for a work dinner. We ordered ceviche, guacamole and queso for the table and we all had separate entrees. The food and service were good.

Where do I start? Went for a birthday dinner with the sons, spouses and grandkids. Always liked the restaurant 1) Bathroom in back was filthy. They serve hard toasted tortillas instead of delicious chips. They were hard to break and not cery good to eat 4) The salsa was served in tiny dishes. Not enough for 4 bites. Asked for more and they brought 2 more tiny dishes We were 10 people! 5) Servers used table behind us to drop all the dirty dishes. It was disgusting to see. We were in a large table in the back so the servers used that empty table as their dumping station, without any regard to us! Did I mention thw disgusting bathroom and our dirty table??? We will never celebrate anything again at this restaurant And tell the Chef that his round. Hard toasted tortilla is no substitute to good, crispy chips. And to serve a descent amount of salsa!

We ordered some flavor margaritas were tasteful, the guacamole was fresh got a nice twist with the chicharrón. I ordered the Catch of the which was fresh. The dessert was awesome. Beautiful decor and the most delicious Mexican food we’ve had outside of Mexico. We started with the fresh made to order guacamole with cotija cheese , chicharrones and delicious tortillas, and two frozen margaritas with it , my wife had a mango and I enjoyed a cucumber / maracuya , that where actually out of this world. As a main course we ordered mahi-mahi tacos and a taco with cheese and short rib. Both amazing. And to finish our meal we had a dessert called Paloma , which is a crepe with cream , caramel , banana and vanilla ice cream. Our experience deserve 5 stars for the food , the service a the decoration…we definitely recommend Talavera here and my wife and I are already planning our next “escapada mexicana” in the middle of Coral Gables !

I am not a fan of spicy food but I can enjoy it from time to time. This place has a great menu for those who are curious to start a not so spicy food and yet leveled up with a real Mexican spice sauce! Great place for starters, it is up to your spicy tolerance. I am sure this is not the mega spicy menu for those who have an appetite for really spicy food. That's why I am calling it the best training venue to get a pinch and develop your spicy taste. The price & amount of food ratio is not great, but the flavors are intense so most definitely give it a try!

Happy Hour starts at 4pm on weekdays...not sure until when...but the Watermelon 🍉 Margarita is delicious as well as the appetizers. Always nice to sit outside on Giralda Avenue and enjoy the atmosphere and weather. 🌞

A nice cosy restaurant located in Coral Cables that serves Mexican style food. Attentive and polite server on our visit. Large margaritas and tasty food. I recommend trying the Moles offering - a large portion of your chosen meat with a thick tasty gravy.

Miami has the best food spots - found this gem on Yelp and was it ever worth it. Warm and helpful staff. The room is gorgeous and the food is even better. We ordered the Tetelas for apps and it was a revelation. For entrees we got vegetarian enchiladas and Chile relleno. All mind blowing. Would definitely come back for this slice of Oaxaca.

Honestly it’s not an actual Mexican restaurant. I was mostly disappointed by the food, I got the chicken tacos and it was three small af tacos. They were smaller than my hand and my hand is small af. The chicken was not seasoned and tasted like it had not salt and it was $21!! I should have looked more before going but yeah, not worth it. The only reason why it’s two stars is because the drinks were sooo soo good! Amazing drinks and the food was fast. They gave us free tequila shots which is why they are getting two stars. I don’t recommend going for the food tbh. My friend got the carne flauntas and it was just three, honestly we left still hungry and we are usually type of people that leave with leftovers. Just disappointed for that food and the price for it.
