We enjoy dinner here and our server Mike was really nice, super attentive. We order a bunch of appetizers, so I can’t talk about main entrees. Lobster tacos were good, although I personally don’t like the fried tortilla, salmon sashimi truffle was good too, everything kind of small. Octopus and fried calamari was normal, nothing impressive. The chocolate mousse with Oreo was delicious. It was nice being sitting outside, music was great, but in general the other customers were too much loud around.

came here to have lunch with my mom for Mother’s Day and it was the worst experience ever. The waiter was very rude. We ordered wine and he placed them together on the edge of the table and left..they could’ve easily fallen over, a waiter should place them in front of each person by their plate. I ordered pasta which tasted just like butter, it was overflowing with melted butter, also you should not give Parmesan with seafood ever.. my mom got the soap and she almost swallowed a piece of plastic (see compared to shift tail) also with soup the chef should’ve removed the tails of the shrimp and shells, it just made it too messy and hard to removed them while eating soup.

Met friends out west in the Gables for a lovely seafood meal. The portions were small but yummy. I recommend the lobster tacos and learning Spanish before you go!

They have the absolute most delicious sashimi dishes I got both the tuna and salmon The tuna had a Yuzu soy dressing on the it mixed with scallions crisp onions But that Salmon dish was oh my God another level. They put yuzu mixed with truffle olive oil and honey drizzled all over the sashimi with… you won’t believe the next thing…. a dab of butter! sounds so weird but was so ridiculously delicious I loved it so much I went back the next night and ordered it again to-go I also ordered The whole catch of the day fish which was served half deep-fried and half grilled and both of them were delicious. (I wish I could remember the fish name is the first time I heard of it and I’ve lived on the coasts eating fish my whole life so I’m surprised there was a fish out there I hadn’t heard of and it was a yummy light white fish, ugly mofo though lol The next night I ordered the Gorgonzola pear ravioli and that was insanely delicious! But I forgot to take pics) I want to eat there every single day but it’s costing me over 50 bucks each time I go for those three dishes I’m HOOKED. This is my crack

Miami Spice 2022: This is a very cutely decorated restaurant with side street parking in Coral Gables. It is very close to the WeWork parking garage making parking that much more convenient. The service was great and the bartender did a great job crafting some delicious cocktails- the lychee martini was especially delicious. For appetizer, the whole table ordered the ceviche- which came in a beautiful presentation with homemade chips that complemented the lime in the fish very nicely. The quality of the fish was great, but I do wish they would have been less stingy with the sweet potato. It tasted fantastic, but I only got a tiny dollop with it. The branzino was the highlight of the meal! So tasty, came with a lemon wedge that enhanced the rosemary flavors, and the side of buttered vegetables was the perfect complement to the meal. i would be back for this alone! We closed out the meal with the flan and the chocolate mousse. We were a bit turned off with being served the mousse in plasticware and having to use tiny plastic spoons to enjoy such nice desserts. Highly Recommend: branzino, flan

MesaMar is an excellent seafood restaurant that offers high-quality dishes at affordable prices. From the moment you walk in, the ambiance and decor make you feel like you're at an upscale beachside retreat. The restaurant's attention to detail, from the elegant place settings to the attentive staff, sets it apart from other options. The fried fish and tostones were some of the best dishes we have ever had. The fish was perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The tostones were golden crispy making for a perfect side dish. We were also impressed with the presentation of the dishes, as they were beautifully plated, specially the fried fish. The restaurant's beverage menu is diverse, offering a variety of wines, cocktails, and soft beverages. Overall, we had an exceptional dining experience at MesaMar. The seafood was of the highest quality, the staff was friendly and attentive, and the ambiance was inviting. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for delicious seafood at an affordable price.

Mesa Mar is one of the best restaurants that I’ve eaten at. The food is absolutely delectable - their specialty, a whole Hog Fish served with both fried and grilled options paired with jasmin rice and tostones are my favs and the almond praline desert…my mouth waters just writing about it. The ambiance and service are also a cut above. Make it a point to eat at Mesa Mar, you will be pleasantly surprised.

Great food n Service at MesaMar. The vibe is relaxed upscale. It’s intimate in size and pretty much everything on the menu is (apparently) very good. End your meal with their very excellent burnt cheese cake.

The ambience is pretty good. And my waiter is a fun nice guy. He disappeared for a while though. But at least we got Bee Gees playing on loop. Indoor is freezing (they have the AC at -7). I ordered a gin martini and they gave me a vodka one. I inquired about it, waiter said he would confirm with the bartender, but he never got back. Also funny to realize I’m the only one under 50. This place gotta be expensive. Ouch! The food was AMAZING. So I’m raising those stars from 3 to 4. I just want service to be a touch more attentive and then this restaurant has potential. Please don’t freeze the indoors!! I’ll be back. Maybe I should have left those stars to 3. 10 minutes and didn’t get a chance to ask for the bill yet… another understaffed place.

Tuna tacos (not pictured) were out of this world. Grilled octopus (not pictured) was really good; first time I’ve had octopus and I was pleasantly surprised. Service was outstanding and great atmosphere. Loved the very tasty dog snapper and the presentation was really cool. Praline almond dessert (not pictured) was super sweet and had a Heath bar crunch topping to it.

My wife and I really enjoyed our dinner here. We ordered the grilled prawns for the appetizer and they brought out the fresh prawns for us our approval. I ordered the fish of the day, which was hogfish, and they brought it out for my approval before preparing it. Fresh seafood that you can see before they prepare. I've never had that before. Everything was prepared perfectly and the service was excellent. We will definitely be back.

Meet friends who live in Miami and picked the restaurant, great choice. Fish and seafood centric menu. Small but very nice list but on the pricier side. The food prices are extremely reasonable. Also great and attentive service We were seated in a small dining room that resembled a library with only 6 tables. There are other dining rooms and a small bar. Started with Tuna Tacos from the Sea* (two per order) Marinated in yuzu dressing and sweet chili with homemade cilantro sauce. Superb. My wife ordered the Lobster Bisque , rich and creamy base with chunks of fresh lobster . She thought it was great. Our friends heard raves about their fried rice so we tried it. Stir Fried rice with shrimp, chicken and ham in an Asian sauce. Unusual and very good. For mains, I opted for the Cazuela de Mariscos, Shrimp, Scallops, fish, calamari and mussels in a homemade tomato sauce with white wine, thyme and rosemary Served with white rice or quinoa. Outstanding. For a special and memorable dining experience, you must try MesaMar Seafood Table.

Updating prior rating because it has become our GoTo in Gables. We love trying new restaurants and many are rally good but when we compare Mesa Mar is our come back to over and over. The seafood pasta with wine sauce or red are light but rich in flavor. The appetizers are a don't miss and the service is attentive and friendly. Prices are great as well. A can't miss.

A bit disappointed. The vodka sauce in the seafood linguini was a little bland but had good consistency unlike the lobster bisque that was more like soup than cream. Not to mention that they brought out the wrong order but I was hungry and it did look good so I didn't complain. In retrospect the server seemed not very experienced or maybe she was preoccupied... Everything else was pleasant and tasteful.

Eduardo was so accommodating ,and helped us choose our meals wisely since we do not eat every seafood. He’s an asset to this business .I will definitely come again.

We went to eat here on a Saturday night, the place was packed (in a good way) The octopus was fresh and cooked perfectly. We also had the zucchini chips, prawns and lemon potato’s which were excellent.

I have eaten many times in Mesa Mar, the food and service is always good, but this time was incredible. As an appetizer we ordered coco-nuts roll tuna (Please try it!). It is spectacular. Second appetizer: scallops. They were crispy and juicy with a delight sauce in the bottom. Filet Mignon, they know how to do a good medium rare. Chilean seabass was simply spectacular. The jasmine rice with raisins is so good that I could eat only this. Dessert: Passion fruit mousse, it has a lot of flavor of condense milk and the citrusy of the fruit. If you like sweet, this is a must! The praline is crispy and addictive. The quality of food is excellent, no greasy, not salty, it is fresh. It is as good as it should be. Our waitress was Sergio, a Venezuelan gentleman who gave us a high and very elegant service. The hostess in the front was very sweet and the bartender was very kind. The atmosphere is classic, elegant, for families and dates. The soft music in the back is wonderful. The only thing that In could recommend to this place is to expand the list of wines and liquors. Other than that, this place has been and it is amazing. I recommend you to try this place.
