Best French onion soup, steak frites, and raspberry tart. We have been going to this place for several years and they maintain the quality. You feel in an authentic French restaurant. And Valerie is the best.

Small French cafe with good food and good service. Ate outside. Had cheese board as app which was tasty. Shared Tuna steak which was well cooked with a nice sauce. Also escargot which was good. $10 glasses of wine. Overall very good.

If you're a fan of French cuisine, Cafe Pastis in South Miami is a must-try little restaurant. The French onion soup is a standout dish, with deep, rich flavors and a savory broth that will leave you wanting more. Although the restaurant is small and can get crowded, the staff does their best to seat you as quickly as possible. The menu is full of authentic French dishes including delicious quiche, and everything is prepared with care and attention to detail. The ambiance is cozy and perfect for a lunch if you're in the area and their prices are extremely reasonable. I highly recommend Cafe Pastis as an excellent choice for those looking to have authentic French cuisine in South Miami.

Food was delicious. The French Onion soup was amazing, as was the creme Brule. My friend ordered the pear tart, but exchanged it for a creme Brule as well. Service was great.

Consistently great service (Ivan), food and ambiance! My favorite dish is from the dinner menu chicken with apricots!

I had been two times already in this place. Service is super good, food is super yummy and price is pretty decent. This French restaurant is very cozy… Is better if you make a reservation. Outside sitting is great but if you don’t have a reservation and you are lucky to find a table inside, it can be pretty uncomfortable because usually the only tables available will be just right in the middle where they walk to go to pick up the orders and stuff. they have decent wines at a good price.🍷

When at Cafe Pastis, I feel I am back home. The friendliness of the service, the authentic taste of their food, how could you not enjoy this place. I enjoy sitting outside with a glass of rosé …!!!! While waiting for my mussels or merguez or the plat du jour.

The service was good and I can say the portions were reasonable but I found everything underwhelming from a flavor standpoint. I got the mussels with fries and it said it came in a white wine butter broth but it had zero acidity.. more like mussels water with garlic. Just wasn't that good... My wife got the soup and 1/2 sandwich combo. Her chicken on the sandwich was dry and flavorless. And her french onion soup should have been called swiss cheese broth. The soup wasn't bad but any flavor that you may expect from an onion soup simply wasn't there. It tasted like liquid swiss cheese. Didn't hate anything but nothing was good enough fore to return...

Excellent food. V tasty, not pricey. This is the confit de canard and the tart tatin. Other reviews saying service is poor if you don’t speak French - learn French. The place is authentic and no, the French aren’t American and obsessed with service. Relax, enjoy the great food and wine!

Very popular place in South Miami with good reason. The food is excellent. The prices are a bit on the high side though. For example $10 glass of house wine and $20 lunch specials. If you sit inside you are packed shoulder to shoulder because the place is popular like I said. You will not be disappointed with the food or the service the people are friendly and the food comes out quickly. I will certainly go back.

Favorite family-owned, intimate French restaurant in Miami. Best mussels you’ll ever have.

I walked in to ask about if they sold pastries. The waiter with the blue eyes was very rude when he told me that it’s only people dining in the restaurant. He came right to my face and made me feel very unwelcome. I rather take my business to the pinecrest bakery across the street.

Had my birthday lunch here and the food was amazing! The French onion soup nearly that of my French grandmother. Second best I've ever had! Goat cheese salad with seared tuna and croque monsieur outstanding! Make sure to visit this place when you are in town!

Good local spot. Classic French cuisine. Chill vibes. Nice staff. Overall would recommend. Not a miami scene. But local feel.

What a delightful Cafe. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed her meal. Our waitress was attentive without being intrusive. I can't wait to go back to linger over a glass of wine and another yummy meal. Also, best cup of American coffee I've had anywhere in a long time. Merci bien!

Just found this little gem today as I was searching for where to go to lunch with a friend and I’m so glad I did! The food and service was excellent. I work very close by so will definitely be back for more. Their French onion soup was *chef kiss*.

French style all around. Tables a little crowded (French style). Food was outstanding. Tarte Tatin had a pronounced apple and butter flavor - delicious.

Great time! Dog friendly outdoors. Refined, interesting menu at affordable prices. Friendly staff! The food was so so good. Everything was perfect! We had the seafood platter, soup of the day, the most popular salad (forgot the name!) with grilled salmon, and croque monsieur with egg… and lovely chilled house Rosé. So nice 😊

Braised Duck with fig sauce was amazing! Usually order Duck when it is cooked crispy, so tried it anyway and was glad I did. I had the pear salad for appetizer and Creme Brule with surprise raspberries inside for desert. Have visited a number of times and tried different entrees each time and enjoyed each one. A great place for celebrations or just to enjoy a night out. 😀

Lunch and dinner always amazing. We have been dinning at Pastis for 15 years. Amazing service. They always treat us like family.

Tried this place for a second time because the first time I wasn’t able To actually sit and eat. Food was “good” but not for the price. Staff was impolite and seemed to be rushed to get us out.

The food is delicious, but "caveat emptor"--Buyer Beware! My wife and I have eaten here three times. We love the casual, French bistro ambiance and the wait staff are attentive and friendly. The menu is varied and we've never been disappointed with a dish. All good, so far. However, the second time we ate here, I noticed the bill seemed higher than expected. When I looked closer, I found that we had been charged about $30 extra, because an extra dish had been added to the bill. When I pointed this out, the wait staff promptly fixed it. I figured it was an accident. Recently, we had dinner and I noticed the same high bill again. When I examined the check (they're handwritten and a challenge to decipher) I discovered we had been charged for two extra glasses of wine. The manager/owner passed by and I pointed out the discrepancy. He checked with the waiter, apologized, canceled the first credit card charge, and rang us up again. BUT--the new bill still did not add up mathematically. The waiter--a very friendly guy--compared it to the menu. The subtotal numbers were correct, but the total was $9 over what the food and tax should have been. Less than our original overcharge, but still wrong. Coincidence? It's either sloppy accounting or a way to overcharge customers who don't pay attention or don't want to dispute an extra charge of $25 or $30. We are disillusioned with Café Pastis and will not be returning.
