👍👍 First I’d like to say that if you don’t know where you’re going you might not find it. That’s ok too. I ended up at a guard house and they redirected me. It’s actually past the dump on a kind of dirt road. I went kayaking and had an awesome time once I found it. The park even has a small kayak launc... People often mention park, water,

Last Sunday the weather was so nice that we decided to go for a walk at this park that I had on my list. It felt great to park for Free!! To enter this park for Free!!! To walk around and enjoy the beautiful view of the bay as we enjoyed the pure air for Free!! You can take your canoe and do some canoeing for free here too, plus they also, have a dog park.

Absolutely beautiful!

This was a great place to take your dog before they built the dog park. Now the walk to the dog park is the best part. Once you arrive the fun ends. There are two enclosures. One for dogs over 35 lbs and one for dogs over 35 lbs. There is one large tree in each enclosure. Picnic tables are underneath the tree. That part is fine. The rest of the park is nothing but green grass. All the native vegetation was removed. Your dog won't find a lizard or squirrel to chase. To make matters worse the nature trail leading to the bay has been fenced off, and locked with a sign that says service personnel only. I guess service personnel deserve their own private piece of the bay! What a missed opportunity. All they had to do was separate the dogs from the crocodiles, and leave everything else in tact.

Once a shining light for baseball and softball since 1972, ever since 2014 the ball fields closed down after elevated levels of arsenic were discovered. After the county promised to fix the fields, nothing has happened and the fields are overrun with trees, vines and shrubs. It’s is literally the image of ineptitude and inaction. Welcome to your Miami-Dade County Park...that you can’t use. Join the effort to Save Chapman Field on Facebook!!

Such a perfect park to go with your dog. It has access to the water so the dogs can swim if you want. I absolutely love this place. I dont even live close and still drive over there to hang out with my friends.

This park is one of my favorites in the area. I only wish that there was a water fountain. The dog park is nice too, but it would also be nice if there was a doggie water fountain there as well. The kayak launch is awesome and I love hiking in the mangroves.

The park itself it great and so is the dog park. Great place to walk and it has a beautiful view! But I have one little problem with the dog park, there’s no water fountain for the dogs and I think it’s a must. Please add a water fountain for our little furry friends!

I was riding my bike on the Old Cutler Trail. There is a signpost on the trail showing Chapman Field Park, Kayak Launch, Dog Park, and Restrooms, just across the road. There is even a pedestrian crossing signal activated with the press of a button. There is a dog park, kayak launching area, Trash/Recycling center, but Chapman Field Park (a baseball field) is closed for soil samples. There are two block buildings that house the restrooms, however, the gates are locked. I was able to get the guard at the Trash/Recycling center to let me use the porta potty. Crisis averted!

I went canoeing there with friends through the mangroves. Canoeing adventure was interrupted by down tree branches blocking passage. Unpleasant mangroves water smell on beautiful clear sky late morning. Jose Ponce

Great kayaking location - check your tide charts. Going out on outgoing tide optimal and coming on on incoming optimal - enjoy the views!

Quite a nice place to kayak. The road to parking near the kayak launch is unpaved and has a lot of ditches, but there is a paved bike lane extending from Old Cutler to the dog park at its farthest point. There are two considerably large lakes, both having serene atmospheres.

👍👍 I didn’t see the fountain of youth but I found this nice bench under a shade tree and ate my lunch. No complaints. Nice little park, great for walking dogs, walking yourself, or just sitting for a spell. Could use a few more shade trees…and a fountain!
