West Matheson Hammocks park is truly a South Florida treasure. It has plenty of picnic areas, shelters for parties and family get togethers as well as hiking and biking trails. It has a phenomenal boat ramp and marina. A wading beach that is enclosed to keep out any dangerous marine life as well as breathtaking taking views of the Miami and Gables skyline as well as South Bay. It is also the home one of the finest and very quant restaurants . The Red Fish grill. It atmosphere is quiet and family oriented. The parking is plentiful, however you now must pay to park. (Used to be free) All in all a very nice park.

A trail of divine beauty, which connects you to the Thoreau nature and solitude which you must enter with honor and respect in order for the forest to yield you the invitation to stay and enjoy its majestic quarters

Very pleasant place to rest and relax. Highly recommended...within the Park they have created a pool with sea water...where families with small children can enjoy the day. There is ample parking and you only make a payment of $7.75 for the entire day.(open until to become night). It also has a camping area and a walking area between the mangroves.
