We were walking down the main street when we noticed the park signs. We decided to head down the path of absolute beauty & take a few photos. About 1/2 way down the path we were stopped by a lady who said we had to pay by credit card to go any further. We found this quite odd since nothing said you had to pay anywhere? We didn't know if it was reL or not and since we were under time constraints, we decided against going. We wanted to return later, but the thought of paying another $20.00 to park our vehicle for another hour or two was simply outrageous. The part we did see was absolutely beautiful, but maybe next time.

A hidden gem? I think so😀 We were looking for a nice place just to relax and find Some peace and quiet from the busy streets of Coconut Grove on a Sunday afternoon. Bingo! This park may be small but it’s absolutely full of amazing features. The grass is super soft and fresh the views of the water brings in fresh air and beautiful sunlight. Volunteers who stand in front are always nice and sweet.

It's a small park with walking/biking trail, restrooms and historic house. Admission is $2 per person and the park closes at 5 PM. Most of the trail is shaded by trees so it's good to take an afternoon stroll here. You can learn about the plants, the pioneer, and the history of Coconut Grove here. You'll need to sign up for the guided tours if you want to see the inside of the house.

We took the tour of the house with the nicest lady named Ami today. She knew so may details of the family, the development of the property, even to the history of the builders. If you are visiting go by the park office next to the house and inquire about a guided tour, we've been two other times but never took the tour. We were all so pleased we did today the house was incredible!

Sunday, biblically speaking is a day of rest. A pleasant walk throughout The Barnacle Historic Park and on such a lovely day, the sun is beaming warmly on the skin as a cool northeasterly wind guides our steps of tranquility, peace, meditation and love. It is the perfect time for gentle quiet between two souls which is cherished amongst the natural setting made by the Almighty, Omega. The beginning and the end.The one in which all things are possible.

Nice little place to get away from the snoot snoot areas nearby to see a cool house...a good view of the bay and to just chill for a sec.

Ok this is a real find. If you need a place to calm your senses while in Coconut Grove, take the tiny path back to the water and sit on comfy patio chairs under good shade trees. Donation entry fee so add more $ if you can. This is a gem and worth your extra donation money. Good for kids or anyone who needs a little break.

I've been here for both daytime and nights (movies in the park) for various events; it is one of the very few surviving attractions in this part of the Grove. Very beautiful and earthy vibe. Great spot to take your date on a stroll and/or to escape the 'concrete jungle' if only for an hour or so.

The Barnacle Historic State Park is an absolute gem! The serene atmosphere and lush surroundings make it an incredibly relaxing destination. I appreciate that they are pet-friendly, allowing me to enjoy the tranquility with my furry friend. The well-maintained trails and historic charm create a unique experience. Whether you're seeking a peaceful stroll or a bit of history, this park has it all. It's a wonderful escape from the hustle and bustle, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a calm and pet-welcoming outdoor retreat.

Here's some Coconut Grove history, this home built in 1891 is still standing... The grounds are beautifully maintained... Closes promptly at 5 pm, so get there by 3:30 at the latest so you have time to read all the cool stuff, and feel like you were there...

Beautiful small park. The history behind it is pretty cool. Bae’s favorite part was laying under the palm tree

For what it is… and for a minimum $2 per person donation for a self-guided tour (not including the $3 per person guided tour inside the house), this park provides a nice getaway from the populated commercialism of Coconut Grove. It is well worth it for the pleasant, self-paced walk back in time…

This little state park is filled with history! It’s great to come relax and enjoy views of Biscayne Bay from the oldest house in Miami-Dade but it’s ESPECIALLY great for history buffs. Come learn all about the early days of Coconut Grove and the home’s original owner Commodore Ralph Munroe. I highly recommend getting the $3 tour of the inside of the house. There’s two floors & everything inside is as it originally was back in the late 1800s and 1900s. Btw the only way inside is with a tour guide. Fun fact: you’ll hear about the commodore’s first wife Eva Munroe. Her grave site is nearby! Go visit after. It’s located beside the library across Peacock Park. It’s also the oldest marked gravesite in the county.

Place is very beautiful. Exactly what you imagine Miami being like especially if it's your first time there. Wish the historical house had longer tour hours. When we went, the tours had ended at 2pm. Other than that, we just did a self guided tour and read up a bit. Location is wonderful and restrooms are clean@

Beautiful park. My daughter is in the junior ranger program and Kevin is always so wonderful with the kids! Definitely love coming here. I find it amazing how you are in the busy grove one second and as you’re walking in, you could hear the sounds of the busy city fading away. The history about the house is extremely interesting. Worth checking out.

A beautiful space that gives you a glimpse of Florida's past. The walk to the home is now paved so, the space is more accessible to people with mobility issues.

Although the park ticket is only $2, they do charge another $3 for a tour to get into the house. And there are only 4 tours each day while the latest is 2:30pm. So anyone arriving later than that would have to give up the chance to visit the house, which is a regret for me because I really wanted to see the inside. The park is beautiful with many trees and ocean view at the end. But it’s not big and takes no more than 10mins to visit.

Beautiful site and setting magically tucked away right in the heart of the hustle and bustle of Coconut Grove. Awesome for events and concerts.

We recently attended a Jimmy Buffet tribute by the Tall Boys. It was fantastic! I would recommend for future venues, placing the stage towards the bottom of the hill instead of up by the main house. I think the view is much nicer and would provide a natural stadium seating for the event. The staff was very friendly. Overall, it was a great evening.

I've lived in Miami most of my life and I've must have passed this state park several times not knowing it was there. It's truly a hidden gem of a park. Great historical story of Ralph Middleton Munroe. Went there on a field trip with my daughter's class and the guides were friendly and knowledgeable. We'll be going back and taking my youngest daughter and wife and making a nice family outing. Highly recommend going here and knowing one of Miami's earliest pioneer!

Nice, quiet place on Buscayne Bay, where you can relax, and learn a little about Miami history. Good place for a wedding, or other group events.

I'm planning to do photos for my dad's upcoming 83rd birthday with JCPenney outdoor photography. I don't live in Miami, so had my parents scope out the location they use in Miami (barnacle state park). They couldn't find a way to get into the park or anywhere to park and called me freaking out. They are both older and have mobility issues. I called the park to find out if there was disabled parking. The gentleman that answered was incredibly kind and informative. However, there is no parking lot at this park, and there is no disabled parking. He did say though that if we call they are happy to pick some one up on the shuttle (golf cart) and drive them into the park. This may work for some folks, but if you're a wheel chair user this may not work. Also, it is 2$ per person to enter the park. Had to post this information because I didn't see this reflected in any of the reviews or on the park's website. Hope it is helpful for anyone with mobility issues or using JCPenney outdoor photography in Miami. My alternative with the photo company will be to ask to switch to their Davie, FL location at Tree Top Park which does have parking.

What a nice surprise in Coconut Grove. It's small, cozy, and beautiful. Ideal for quick escapes from the bustling streets of the neighborhood.

Found out it's a nude beach. So there's that. Most of the people who want to be nude are closer to the bridge. Beautiful view. Great for pictures.

Awesome place to relax and go back in history and understand how they lived at that time without AC. Loved the library and the kind, knowledgeable staff. Worths the visit.

Gorgeous, love the tour by Jessica Cabrera. I have been in south Florida for decades, and missed this magical place. Window to the past. ~ DON'T PARK IN THE STREET. HAD MY CAR TOWED AWAY, ILIGALY PAID MY STAY ON PARKMOBILE APP. THERE IS A MASSIVE CORRUPTION GOING WITH THE STREET INSPECTORS AND THE LOCAL TOWING COMPANY : ROADWAY TOWING COMPANY.

We stopped in quickly and found it to be very hard to park here. We got frustrated and ended dup not staying long at all. We did have a nice walk to the visitor center though. The staff were nice and the place seemed well maintained.
