I was returning from a cruise and had two days to kill before my flight home. While scrolling through the Marriott app, I was wondering if I needed to sell just one, or both kidneys to be able to afford a room in Miami. Just as I was considering hitchhiking back home, where I would risk a stranger picking me up and probably just stealing it anyways, searched under the government/military rate because sometimes I get lucky that devoting my life to serving my country can get me 20 bucks knocked off the price of a room every once and while. I came across a reasonably priced room in the Coconut Grove area and had to do a double take when I saw it was the Ritz-Carlton. On the off-chance it was a typo or a glitch in the Matrix, I only booked for one night as to not run the risk of unexpectedly getting saddled with a bill that could ultimately bankrupt my children's children. When I arrived, the front desk staff checked my ID & military status and was incredibly friendly and accommodating. I didn't have a vehicle but that didn't matter as the weather was perfect and I was able to walk around and find plenty of cute little shops, had a lovely lunch and even watched a kids soccer game. I returned for a facial at the spa then lounged by the pool, both of which were 5 star IMHO. I was able to book online for the following night at the same price (!) and when I went down in the morning to re-check in I told her I was fine staying in the same room and that housekeeping wasn't necessary. She looked up my reservation, looked up at me and said, "Oh, you're gonna wanna switch rooms." I was pleasantly surprised to discover I had been upgraded to a suite that was bigger than my first apartment. The bathroom was enormous, the bed was like a cloud and I wasn't at all disappointed when my flight was delayed the following morning. I am in no means any sort of VIP or high-ranking officer but for two days the Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove definitely made me feel like one. Thank you for supporting our military and veterans 🇺🇸. I returned home not only with lovely memories of my short Miami stay, but with both kidneys firmly intact.

I used points to book my stay while we were visiting friends in Coconut Grove, but the rack rate while we were there was a sobering $1200 a night - not sure I would pay that, but it is a very nice hotel. The property is very well maintained and has an elegant feel, the staff exceeded my expectations in terms of friendliness and desire to please. Our room didn't have a view of anything, but it was quite large and did have a very nice balcony. The gym is very nice, spacious, excellent equipment, and the pool area server was very attentive. Overall, a fantastic property and if you're a Ritz-Carlton fan I would highly encourage you to consider staying here when visiting Miami. The Coconut Grove area is also super cute with tons of bars, cafes, restaurants all within walking distance. 5 stars.

Remember to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙᴏʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking any room. They compare countless hotel sites and typically will have rooms a lot cheaper compared to others! Thank me later on! This hotel is one of the most well known in this area. I've been staying here for years. If you stay for a few nights you won't regret it. A 20 something year old hotel with open spaces and water features this property is large, clean, and relaxing. The room was perfect for our 1st night after our long plane ride. It was comfortable and quiet. I hardly ever heard another person and we arrived in the middle of spring break. We will come again if we travel this way again.

Hotel staff is super friendly and helpful. Efficient in cleaning the rooms and help at the conference rooms as well. The room although great and clean, had a weird layout in the bathroom making the shower stall very small, and the height of the shower very low. The location is great. Walking distance from the mais street in the grove. Lots of things to do around and close to the water front too.

Great place and I would stay here again. Valet was a bit pricey and the staff was a bit overzealous trying to carry my bags. They would ask, I would decline, they would say "are you sure?", like I am some kind of idiot who doesn't know if I can carry my own bag.

One of the least impressive Ritz. Nothing memorable for me here, not good and not bad. The room itself is decent, not sure when they renovated it, still kind of new, with wear and tear visible, seems like maintenance is lacking. It’s missing the details and quality one would expect from Ritz when they are charging $600+/night. Our room had a candy wrap rubbish on the corner, one of the bath towels was slightly ripped, shower cap was used by a previous guest with an empty box left for us. Our room was a bit dark at night, then we realized it’s missing a floor lamp. When we called, the staff argued our room layout didn’t have a floor lamp but clearly the website photo has one for the same room type. They should have just sent a floor lamp and not giving an excuse when the guest asked for one. All the valet staff was very friendly and efficient, especially the guy with a suit, I think his name is Junior. He is super friendly with a great smile. Front desk staff tried to upsell the room, instead of just upgrading the room for elite member. Valet parking is $45 (displayed on our email confirmation but valet staff told us it’s $50, will find out tomorrow). Overall, a decent hotel if they charge $300-$400, certainly not higher for the quality provided. Update: from 2 to 3 stars. Amy, the hotel manager, came to chat with us when we checked out. She knew it was our anniversary stay. She was apologetic about our experience and offered to return our reward points used for the booking. It was a nice gesture despite we didn’t complain during our stay. We were pleasantly surprised that she read this review here and responded so quickly. We appreciate such quick response.

A small piece of advice for fellow travelers: when booking hotels, don’t skip on HoteIDuIIy.cᴏm It can offer some great deals! We got a resort pass on a Tuesday, it was pretty slow on the pool deck as the weather was not the best. We got escorted from the lobby to the pool deck and were given wristbands. We got set up where we requested and the pool attendant also moved an umbrella upon my request. I got a beer and fish tacos, my wife got shrimp tacos, and they were on par for the price. Jessica was our server, I requested to modify my fish tacos into blackened fish tacos and she said yes without hesitation, We had a good experience and will go back again.

Must go to Isabel's by the lobby. It's fabulous. Great service and nice rooms. When you walk in your room it seems like there's no bathroom. You must actually set it up for it to be obvious. You might want to ask for help with setting up the bathroom. Good luck with that. This hotel is near parks and the main part of town with great restaurants. Enjoy your stay. I did. And so did my gorgeous wife.

The customer experience here was fantastic... especially Paola who made us feel welcome/ special for the weekend. Also nice fitness center and my wife enjoyed her spa visit.

This Ritz is certainly not like the other Ritz properties, starting with incredibly poor service, starting from the front desk and especially the pool area. Arriving at the pool on a beautiful weekend only to find one person working the entire area, without a word of English in his repetoire. Despite this lovely person working very hard, nothing could get done as he had zero help. No chairs or lounge chairs, no one to get a drink from, no towels. When a "pool manager," was sent to discuss the concerns, he explained, there was a book fair in town, it was busy and a holiday weekend. I assumed that this is a hotel's job to account and prepare for busy weekends. I would not stay here again and do not recommend this particular Ritz.

Our suite #424 was one of the newer ones facing the pool, had a great floor plan, was big, clean and tastefully decorated. Valet was a breeze and polite as most of the staff we encountered. Very nice stay

My stay was amazing! The bellman Steve helped me significantly with restaurant suggestions and boy were they great. He showed us every aspect of the room and helped us w our luggage both ways. We will definitely stay again. The whole staff was wonderful.

The room was perfect, but sadly it rained during our stay and we didn't get to enjoy the pool. We stayed indoors with the bartender Christian B. and he was AMAZING! He has a beautiful understanding and background in wine. Such an educational dinner. Excited to try out some of his suggestions. He went above and beyond. Best bartender in Miami hands down.

Delivering the kind of hotel stay we expect from Ritz Carlton. Friendly staff who do the hard work of making your stay easy. Great process and service when I accidentally left my phone in my room when checking out (resolved within a few, reassuring minutes)

This hotel is so dated - should be an AC Marriott not and RC - was like stepping back to the 80s. Staff very friendly and helpful - but needs a complete overhaul.

The property is fine, but the service is not. At the front desk they told us that the room we booked was just a “preference request” but not a guarantee. Then they assigned the most random room available. We couldn’t believe what was happening.

This hotel is definitely not a 5 star hotel. There is no sleepers in the hotel room. There is no free wifi,. if you want wifi you have to pay an additional $12/day. It doesn’t sound a lot when they charge you $1000/night but it’s just a matter of principle. We have travelled the world and can guarantee that this hotel does not feel like a 5 star hotel.

5 star hotel all the way. Emmaculately clean. Front desk was very welcoming. Restaurant was beautiful and the food was very very good. The room was a good size for 2 people, and spotless as expected. There is an honor bar in the room but we didn't partake. Prices were very high! Plenty of restaurants within walking distance and a nice park with a marina across the street. My one gripe though, they don't have coffee available anywhere on the property! You must go to restaurant to get it. Seemed weird, but that nay be the Miami way. Would definitely stay there again.

From arrival to departure, we were greeted, by name, by every genuinely happy and attentive employee at this property. The property itself is extremely clean and well maintained throughout. While it maintains a classic "Grove elegance" ambiance in the public areas, the bedrooms are spacious and have been tastefully updated with all the modern amenities, comfortable beds and beautiful white marble bathrooms to round it all out. Room service was great and always delivered with a smile. Luis, the GM of Food & Beverage at the hotel, is very focused on customer experience and satisfaction, as well as the overall quality of the food. The spa was most relaxing with experienced and professional staff. We highly recommend "The Art of Vichy" body exfoliation and the Hydrafacial - my girlfriend and I both had them and the results were fantastic! Our therapist, Liliana, was phenomenal! We were even able to relax by the pool between appointments and enjoy drinks and apps from the pool bar. The valets and bellmen were also fantastic and took very good care of us and our belongings. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our weekend stay at The Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove and look forward to our next!

Superb excellence in a hotel. I was treated like royalty here and I had a really pleasant stay because of it. I like the little touches like Nespresso in the rooms instead of coffee and lots of different kinds of nuts, drinks, and snacks in the mini bar. I can't say enough positive things about the doorman! He never got to help me with valet or my bags or anything but he offered to and threw away my coffee cup for me when I asked for where the nearest trash can is. He always held the door open for me with a smile. He and the receptionists wished me to be safe and careful going out in the tropical storm. The front desk was very nice checking me in and they even updated my bonvoy account for me when we found out it had out of date information, without me having to ask. It saved me so much time and I'm super grateful. The umbrellas at the front desk were very sturdy and held up in the literal tropical storm. The letter the management wrote for the storm was an excellent example of communication, in my opinion, in times like those. The bell boy or security guard, unsure what his position was, saw our conundrum in the hallway and offered to watch our bags when we were all going to the restroom at the same time although we had already checked out of our rooms. The room was clean and cleaned neatly each day. The lobby is very impressive. They opened up the pool when the weather cleared up. My one complaint is it didn't look like there was free wifi. Not knowing the wifi quality, I didn't buy it.

From the silent traveler. As I have always stated no hotel will be 100% perfect. What determines a good hotel is the representatives of that hotel when issues come before them. The bed was very nice and had the right texture right thread count to get a good night's sleep pillows or soft and I'm sure you can request something a little bit more firm. The internet connection was good could be better, But no issues connecting. The spa area is very nice the steam room and sauna they have is great before and after a workout. They provide you with slippers, a robe, towel, and a relaxing area with infused water depending on what fruit or vegetable is added at the time. The workout room has all the equipment needed for an excellent workout free weights is well as cardio machines. The rooms very nice big bathroom enough for you and whoever is accompanying you. A great getaway for couples. And it's in a very good area walking distance to the dock area as well as restaurants and shopping. The view from any angle of the hotel is nice. They also have bikes for you I do not know if they are for rent or if they're part of the Marriott program or if they are free to guess who stay there. You will have to inquire that when you get there. They do offer valet parking. The lobby area is also nice to relax and meet with guests if you don't want to meet with them in the room.

Very nice hotel with a grand lobby, large rooms, a balcony (+AC still works with balcony doors open), and a beautiful marble bathroom. The only thing we did not like was all the spray fragrance in the hallways, and there was also an electric-powered fragrance wall unit (up high near the ceiling) inside our room that we could not shut off. We do not understand the need for all this (not-air freshener) fragrances in hotels nowadays. The air is fresh enough, and we shower and don't smell.

Beautifully appointed rooms, elegant lobby, delicious food at the restaurant, great service from front desk staff. But maybe most fun feature was the hospitality of the bellman Steven who gave us great restaurant recommendations when he took our luggage to the room and was hilarious in his descriptions of the options. Great choice. Can't go wrong here.

We stayed there for my husbands birthday and our wedding anniversary! Marcela at the front desk was amazing. She gave us such a warm welcome and every member of the staff was awesome! The hotel was clean and we will definitely be back soon!
