👍👍 I can't say enough good things. I had knee surgery and also attend physical therapy here, and couldn't be happier about the experience with both. People often mention time, knee,

In November of 2022, I suffered a ruptured ACL playing soccer. Being a college student, I had no family around, and the hospital took advantage of my young age to miss treat me. I arrived knowing I needed an MRI to get a proper diagnosis at the time, but they refused to give me one. The doctor did the drawer test on my injured leg and said "Well, you either have an ACL tear, MCL tear, LCL tear, or Meniscus tear." After that, I went to the front desk and pleaded with them regarding an MRI. Here, they lied to me and stated "No MRI machine operates past 6:30 pm." When I called them out and explained that I have gotten an MRI in the past after 6:30 pm, their attitudes changed. Instead of supporting this lie, they simply stated that they were just not going to give me the MRI that day.

I have been a patient of U of I Sports Medicine since I was a teenager and had surgery on both my knees. I have always felt cared for, listened to, and supported by all staff members. Nearly 12 years later, I am still a patient and would trust no one else with my orthopedic needs.

Permanent mistake attending this facility for shoulder surgery rehab. Prior to coming here, I had been attending Athelitco; as I was home for the Summer as a U of I student. Each time I went for my scheduled therapy sessions, my “therapist” would decide to take a 10 minute bathroom break on clock of my session. Which was fine, because she wasn’t much help anyways and could never remember which shoulder had been impaired after several appointments. Also, failed to do basic stretching as it was too much effort for her. Even the few times I had a different trainer - they would teach me exercises to do at home, which was a complete waste of time as I have been doing exercises at home for the past few months and came to utilize the equipment there. Trainers were argumentative and almost uneducated. As an athlete, this has hindered my recovery and potential to regain complete range of motion among other things. I later transferred to another Athletico nearby and they were way more professional.

Great experience with Dr. Westermann and Physical Therapists (Amanda and Ariel). Dr. Peterson also got my hip problem diagnosed quickly. Professional and friendly staff, especially the ladies at the front desk too.

I drove from out of town to have hip dysplasia evaluated by Dr. Willey. I cannot express how grateful I am for this experience. He and his team were kind, compassionate, thorough, and answered all of my questions the best they could. I never felt rushed at any point. For now, I don’t need to carry through with surgery with Dr.Willey, so I can’t speak to that, but I can say that he went above and beyond to answer questions that he didn’t necessarily need to (he could have just showed me the degree of dysplasia and been done in 5 minutes, yet he patiently addressed any additional concerns I had). He was kind, caring, understanding, and compassionate- these are qualities that seem very hard to find in providers these days. Not to mention, he seemed very knowledgeable and professional in his area of expertise. I feel the others I met on his team also shared these qualities. It’s not easy to be on this journey- in pain, feeling lost and looking for answers. However, the kindness of the staff today at UI Sports Medicine, particularly Dr. Willey’s staff but also the front desk, really made a difference in my experience.

The UI Sports Medicine Clinic is tremendous! I received the highest quality of care at my recent visit for a second opinion after a severe knee dislocation injury. Covid protocols were followed to a T, the waiting room was spotless, and they saw me before my appointment time! Excellent nurse staff especially Tony who works with Dr. Kyle Duchman. Both Tony and Dr. Kyle Duchman took the time to listen to my concerns, discuss MRI and X-Rays, educate me on my injury and what to do for next steps. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Kyle Duchman if you are looking for which doctor to see. Thank you!!!

Very disappointed with my appointment. Yes, they got me in right away. The wait time was short, which was nice. However, speaking with the orthopedic surgeon made me feel like I was a waste of time to be seen. He asked me what was wrong and what I was experiencing. I explained how I recently injured my knee again, which has now created some additional troubles. Its constantly giving out on me since I snapped it again. Obviously, yes pain in the knee is constant, but has worsened since my incident. I was told I need to lose weight, which yes I know and have been going to the gym for it. I was told I smoke so theres nothing they could do. I advised I want to quit and while trying to explain my quitting plan was interrupted with a giggle and comment of, " yeah that's what they all say". FYI Doc: I'm on day 3 of quitting and expect to continue! The three additional suggestions knee brace, PT, and meds is not what I want to live the next 15 years of my life doing. Its been a week since my appt and my knee has slipped out at least twice a day and I walk with a constant LIMP. This is annoying and I really was looking for an option to Better my future and physical activity then leaving feeling like there nothing I can do. A knee Brace Hurts! I told you that. PT- for bone on bone knee pain, grinding, snapping when I walk... no thank you! Taking meds everyday, should not be an option to try to GET By! I would never go back. A waste of my time and A waste of my Money!
