We’ve
been
going
to
Spiros
since
we
moved
to
Miller
Place
four
years
ago.
We’ve
always
enjoyed
the
food,
the
drinks,
the
atmosphere
and
the
service.
We
have
talked
to
the
owner
and
his
sons
multiple
times,
and
they
were
always
very
friendly,
doting,
respectful
and
attentive.
Unfortunately,
those
great
vibes
all
changed
tonight
because
of
our
extremely
abrupt
and
persistently
rude
server.
Since
moments
after
we
sat,
she
came
across
annoyed
and
was
cold,
quick
and
short
in
her
communication
with
the
two
of
us.
She
became
clearly
annoyed
with
us
when
we
clarified
our
drink
order
(salt
on
our
margarita
rims
because
she
hadn’t
asked)
or
noted
that
the
wrong
dish
(baked
clams
when
we
had
repeatedly
confirmed
we
wanted
crab
cakes)
was
brought
to
the
table.
What
most
disturbed
us
was
that
at
a
neighboring
table
(a
large
party),
she
was
gesturing
at
us
and
talking
to
the
patrons
—
people
with
whom
she
was
very
familiar
with
—
about
us.
The
customers
replied
to
the
server
while
looking
at
us
like
we
had
done
something
wrong.
My
husband
—
an
editor
at
a
renowned
community
news
website
—
and
I
dine
at
restaurants
across
Long
Island.
This
was
far
and
away
the
worst
type
of
dining
experience
we’ve
had
in
recent
memory.
Unfortunately,
we
don’t
expect
to
return
to
Spiro’s
and
find
it
difficult
to
recommend
dining
here
due
to
our
sour
experience.
