(Translated by Google) Important fortified tower donated by Emperor Frederick II along with vast land holdings to the Teutonic knights returning from the Holy Land. The Tower has been restored in recent decades and is now managed by a youth cooperative and can be visited. During the renovation, an excavation campaign was carried out inside the structure that brought to light dozens of artifacts that were restored and made a fine show of themselves in the fitted out museum of the tower. It would be good to plan a visit to some other place because the time needed for visiting the Tower alone is not "excessive".

Stunning medieval place from the 1200s. We stopped by by chance and were lucky enough to find it open. Having paid the entrance ticket of 5 euros, we were accompanied by very kind guys from the Cooperative who manages the structure. Lots of history. The internal ceramic museum found during the excavations is beautiful. It would still require ongoing maintenance like any major structure

The complex of Torre Alemanna, incorporated within Borgo Libertà, a hamlet 18 km away south-west of Cerignola (FG), after the brilliant restoration of about twenty years ago, shows all its beauty that time and carelessness (especially due to the atavistic lack of funds) they had kept hidden. The Tower and the entire internal and external area of the complex can be visited by reservation (please refer to the Torre Alemanna Borgo Libertà Cerignola FG website), while the area around and the courtyard, with the church and the park, are always accessible . The area, which is located inside the Borgo, offers free parking, a public green park with games for children, a bar and the possibility of purchasing typical local products, such as vegetables, cheeses and olives, as well as extra virgin olive oil and wine ( the Rosso di Troia is typical). In the village you can breathe clean air, peace and serenity, immersed in the sounds and scents of the countryside, while inside the complex of Torre Alemanna you are immediately transported to the era of the Teutonic Knights. Reachable from Cerignola by taking the Provincial Road 95 to Candela, after 18 km of travel, or by exiting at the Candela toll booth, on the A16 motorway, then taking the SP95 towards Ascoli Satriano - Cerignola. The place is suitable for everyone.

Place where the battle of Montemaggiore took place in 104, with the Normans and Lombards defeating the Byzantines. Located in a hamlet of Cerignola, a liberty village, this tower offers a well-curated exhibition of finds. It's a shame for the lack of courtesy in the environment that surrounds it.

I visited the village as a child with my grandparents who had a farm in San Carlo and when I read that a demonstration was taking place, I felt the need to return and I had a very beautiful experience. The Torre Alemanna is preserved very well, however I am sorry to say that it would need more care around it, this is not intended to be a critical thought, but only to improve the appearance which would give prominence to the place which deserves a lot and I hope that also through word of mouth can be visited by many people to revive not only Borgo Libertà, but all the places of transhumance that represented the only economy of that era.
