This is a new place , so you will have to go and judge it for yourself. I was hoping for more of a home made meal but was a little disappointed. Had the chicken fried chicken, nothing special. I did eat it all. The bread pudding was home made and very good. The staff was top notch., we was well taken care of. Will we be back? Yes in deed going to check them out for breakfast.

We have been here three times now and every time the service is amazing, the food is always fresh and hot. I am so excited that lake Dallas finally has a good mom and pop restaurant that makes quality meals.

From the minute we walked in we felt important. The restaurant was busy but we never lacked for service. The staff was super attentive. The food was what you would expect from a restaurant rated so highly. The fish crust was crispy without being hard. The inside was white and flaky. Perfect cook. The chicken fried chicken was delicious. Teenager approved. Overall was a great find.

PROs: Nostalgic small town feeling/location. Friday night, quick to be seated and served. Whole staff (not just our waitress) was friendly and attentive; good team work. Food was great. Catfish was meaty we did not come across hard & fried flour bits, impressed it was all fish. CONs: Front parking is not ideal because of cross traffic, park to the side. Simple decor. Hanna was good to us, she kept the fish coming when she noticed it was low. We experienced other fish fry places and so far Cowboys is top of our list the other places have been bumped down.

We were very pleased with our first time at Cowboys Restaurant! Food was quite flavorful, salsa amazing, egg cooked perfectly over medium (a rare accomplishment these days it seems). Quantity of food was huge, definite leftovers for another meal, yet pricing was not inflated. All staff we interacted with were friendly, helpful, knowledgeable. Decor is simple, don't let that disuade you. We will definitely return.

A wonderful experience since the moment I walked in. I was have some car trouble, and decided to walk across the street and have some dinner. I’m so happy I discovered this place, because OMG!!! The hospitality alone is worth coming!!

I was originally excited about trying this place out due to the pictures others are posting of the food. I was a little disappointed. My take: $14 all you can eat catfish dinner. The fish was decent. No fishy taste and a good crispy texture. Although it did not come with hush puppies. We were able to order hush puppies as an add-on, and these were soaked in grease and lacking seasoning. The mashed potatoes seamed to have come from a dry mix? Not good at all. The fried oakra was perfect. And the wait staff... I could not give a good enough review to convey how wonderful these gentlemen were! Absolutely perfect customer service and then above and beyond!

Nice place for comfort food. Had the cowboy smashburger. Great hamburger for around $11.00. Service was great. Atmosphere is mediocre but clean. Will return to try other items in the future.

Daniel was an excellent server...quick, polite, to the point. Best dining experience we have had in Lake Dallas in a while. Food was excellent, out in 5 minutes, and reasonably priced which is difficult to find these days. Will be returning often.

This is the cutest little diner. Open seating and simplistic decor with soft fun colors make this a warm dining experience. The service was fast and accurate and the coffee was hot. The prices are very affordable and the parking was great. It wasn’t terribly busy or too loud. Really great experience. Also a major plus is they have the QR code available on the receipt so I can pay at the table- no waiting!

My hubby found this place online so we decided to go and try it out. I got the fried fish with mashed potatoes and fries. OMG it was delicious. Great customer service and definitely will come eat there again.

My sister and I tried this place for the first time and absolutely loved the food. She had the catfish dinner and I had the chicken strips. Both meals with 2 extra sides was only $32.00. The portions are very generous. The catfish and chicken are hand battered in house and the ranch is homemade. We will be loyal customers. A quick shout out to Daniel our server. He was very accommodating - great service with a 😊 smile!

Amazing taste and awesome service. We got approached and told sit down where ever before we got inside. Fast with coming to take your order after delivering drinks and with the short wait. We had ordered the Chicken Monterey, Catfish 6pc and a Cesar salad with chicken. Every plate was well portioned and by God amazing tasting. I see why it's ratings are for and I'm happy I found a new spot on the weekends to visit!

I came to the restaurant around 1pm. My friend ordered lunch and I had breakfast migas. The portions were perfectly sized and delicious! Our waitress was friendly and attentive. She checked on us regularly but not overly so. I will definitely come back and would recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Everything is amazing Here! It’s clean. The service is amazing. They even joked with us. We loved the friendly banter. I felt like I was right at home. The food was very tasty! Breakfast is served all day so that is a plus! We will be back for more!

The minute you walk in you are greeted with very pleasant employees. I wish I knew our waitresses name because she was the sweetest, most kind hearted person I've come in contact with in a long time! She truly made my day! The menu isn't big, which is what I like. The portions are huge and everything was seasoned really well. I would highly recommend!
