The staff were all very friendly and gave good recommendations for places to eat and walk through. The hostel was small and clean and I felt very comfortable leaving my bags unlocked although they recently added small lockers to rooms for valuables. The hostel is a short walk from town and has a good lounging area in the back as well.

Dempsey’s hostel is the best hostel I’ve stayed in. It has a really great atmosphere. There’s a great buzz around the hostel and all the guests are really sociable. The staff are all lovely, really chatty, friendly and helpful. They always ensure the best for the guests and are happy to help out with anything. The hostel itself was always clean and it’s in a great spot - 3 minute walk from kinsale centre. All the facilities were perfect - the showers and bathrooms were always clean as well as the kitchen which had plenty for guest to use complimentary of the hostel such as tea/coffee etc. There’s plenty of tourist information in the hostel as well as the hostel staff who were happy to help which anything. It’s possibly the best hostel in Ireland 10/10

Nice friendly hostel in a great location with good clean facilities, kitchen, bathrooms etc and really cool social areas. Alex and Laura were extremely helpful and welcoming! Highly recommended and will hopefully be back again sometime

I've had an amazing experience in this hostel. The staff is helpful, always looking for the best to their guests. Close to Kinsale centre, just need to go down the hill and you have everything around you. The owner is very attentive to his hostel and he's always trying to improve and make it even more comfortable for his guests. Certainly a place to return 😊

After several days in this hostel I can say it is Strongly Recommend. I was greeted by Alex, who always helped me if I needed something. On the other hand it's very well located and in a peaceful place

We booked 7 weeks in advanced and got confirmed of the booking,, just 5 days to our planned holidays, they rang us to Cancel cancel Cancel the booking and offer another accomodation which is twice the price. Families so disappointed but we were able to find our accomodation and we missed Kinsale.

We are so happy we stayed in Dempsey's. We pitched our tent out back for seven euro per person with use of the kitchen and showers. Showers and toilets v clean. Staff were really nice. The next day we woke up to a flat tyre which wasn't ideal. The staff called the owner who is also a mechanic. He drove down and fixed our tyre in minutes and he was also lovely. We would definitely stay here again! Thanks again lads

very friendly and helpful staff, we felt welcomed as soon as we entered the house; clean hostel with comfortable beds and a great atmosphere. Its easy to get to town and the manager gave great tips where to go and what to visit. Would definitely recommend this place

Marie-Anne is really nice and helpful. The place is really clean. The kitchen is convenient and the dining room is useful. Location is OK regarding the city and the Scilly walk. Ask for rooms on the first floor at the rear. Avoid rooms on ground floor, specially the one next to the gas station.
