Really nostalgic 😁 Popped in with the family for lunch. Classic Roman food. We had spaghetti carbonara (no cream), the way it's supposed to be. Linguine chilli prawns and cannelloni Bolognese. Then to finish my daughter had gelato, pistachio and chocolate, such a classic combination 🙂🙂. All food was prepared by the owner and served quickly, like in Italy. Portions are big, so come hungry 😁 Will definitely be back 👍🏻👍🏻 Please Like my review so that I can continue to contribute 🙂

Popped into this small Italian restaurant before takimg our flight home. The owner was very welcoming his regular customers, and rightly so. It would have been nice to have a warm welcome, we may have been potential new regular customers. When shown to our table the waitress ran in and appologised for being late on her first shift. Orders taken and the starters were prompt and hot, I had homemade tomato and basil soup, which was nice but a little salty for my palate. My husband had Toni's special home made garlic bread which was disapointing as it was basically a shop bought pizza base with garlic and olive oil. After a few harsh words with the waitress because Toni had told her once about a certain wine, he got back to cooking. I opted for the spaghetti bolognaise and my husband for the penne dish, again mine was too salty and parmesan cheese had been put on without asking if I wanted any, my sauce was very thick and not the best I've had, however my husbands was a little better, we chose not to have desert on this occasion. The waitress was very nice and couldn't be more attentive, hopefully Toni will be a little nicer and she might stay. On looking around after ordering the restauramt could do with a deep clean and sprucing up, if the lighting wssn't so low and we had seen it needed such a clean we would not have ordered, it was a good job our flights were delayed as both our stomaches were off. Would I go again no, would I recommend no. Flash on to highlight food and dirt

the food is absolutely terrible, sea food pasta is very salty and small portions, we have to go somewhere to have some fish and chips after 40 Euro for 2 main course, this is not Italian food, never go again. update: First of all, I'm willing to take any legal liability and responsibilities for my writing, and I can show you the receipts that I've served at your restaurant, firstly, the cup and water with strongly bleach smell made me sick, secondly, your special meal for the day is 19 Euro which I said 20, it that make any different? I'm shocked that you don't feel any apologize for your customers experience and you choose not admit your shortcomings in order to make it better, rather than saying that you're the best in local. I m Italian, I know more about real Italian food than you do and maybe your goal is only to serve areas in Carrigaline, if so, I won't say anything and good luck with your business.

Nice ambience and super service. We had good dinner. The place is hidden inside a small street. If you are up for pasta then definitely Ristorante Romano is a must to go place.

Wonderful pleasure to dine here with your friends and family. Cosy and quirky and relaxed atmosphere. Fabulous delicious Sicilian dishes and friendly attentive staff. I highly recommend this restaurant off the beaten track in Carrigaline.

This calamari was so good, I was considering proposing marriage. I have never had calamari flavored and cooked to perfection like this was. I am already sad that I won't be staying in town to have it again. Also, this place was totally empty at 1500 hours. The man running it was the host, the waiter, and the cook. Best Italian food ever!!

Came here for dinner with colleagues - food was nice but not exceptional, and the pastas looked better than the pizza. Good local spot if you're in the mood for Italian (and not obviously another better Italian in Carrigaline), but I wouldn't travel to come here. Solid 7/10

Great little hidden spot tucked away off the main street. The waiter/owner/chef was lovely - the spicy chilli pasta was great!! I will say there was less pasta for that than there was for the carbonara but we got an extra portion of garlic bread which did the job! Lovely atmosphere - will definitely go again!

Brilliant food, waiting time was not short, but it allowed flow of conversation so it was ideal for me. Host/chef was amazing, very funny, and entertaining without being over bearing and overstaying. Calamari was soft, and well fried with really tasty batter and a gorgeous tomato based dipping sauce. The fusilli alla campagnola was delicious, a nice thick sauce over a perfectly cooked dish. Big portion sizes without making it feel low quality as many large portion sized restaurants do. Overall, definitely come here, and will be coming again.

Fantastic food, fantastic wait staff. Prices are very reasonable for the most authentic Italian food I’ve eaten in Ireland. Would most definitely recommend, not to be missed!

I have to say that I highly do not recommend this restaurant apart from the wine and music and the starters (mussels in wine) the main courses were of poor quality. The steak with sauce was over salted and my pizza dough was under risen and the products on it were of poor quality. On a Friday night in an almost empty restaurant, the cook could have done a better job. All in all, the bill we paid was not up to the standard of the food

Good staff and good food. Pasta, a little spice for me and without a cheese for put on top. Pizza tastes very good but not to much thing on top. Wine expensive.

Most delicious food and amazing service!!!! Seafood is definitely fresh not like other places that use defrosted '....'. Owner puts his heart, soul, and talent to deliver most authentic Italian dishes!!!! 10 out of 10! The waiter was so polite and accomodating. You're treated as a valued customer here for sure and feel welcomed.

I won't be going back , pizza was very average and home fries half cooked and smothered in salt. Staff were arguing at one stage . Young lad doing his best. But chef was rude not professional at all.The place needs a good clean as well

Lovely meal. 2 starters, 2 mains and 2 glasses of wine for around 60 euros. Excellent food and service as usual. Loved my main of Salmon Fettuccine in particular.
