Great pub in the iconic Latin quarter of Gallway. Good food and drinks, with an amazing atmosphere and live music. Service is helpful and friendly. Can recommend if you wish the Irish experience.

Great bar and great experience. I went at night so it was a little crowded and as soon it becomes later it is harder to find a table. I was lucky to listen to in live music/band when I went because it is not everyday. Fantastic music, great atmosphere and excellent service. Definitely I recommend this place.

They were able to accommodate our group of 10 last-minute and the food was pretty good and service was quick. An interesting mix of tapas and basic pub food, but the mushrooms and burger were both really good.

I had the most delightful experience at this charming pub in Galway's city centre! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere. The food was absolutely fabulous, and I must say, the mussels were a true standout. The beef stew was also highly recommended, and it did not disappoint. It was a great meal accompanied by wonderful Irish music, creating a truly authentic experience. Not only was the food exceptional, but the service was outstanding as well. Despite our group of 10 being a last-minute addition, they were able to accommodate us with quick and friendly service. The menu offered an interesting mix of tapas and pub food, and both the mushrooms and burger were simply delicious. I also had the pleasure of discovering that this pub is part of The Residence Hotel. It was a fortunate find, as I found myself returning each night of my stay to enjoy drinks and good craic. The soup of the day and the goat cheese salad were divine, with the soup offering a delightful combination of potato, leek, and various flavors. The staff was incredibly friendly throughout my visit, making the experience even more enjoyable. I couldn't resist coming back for one last lunch, and the soup of the day, featuring carrots and broccoli, proved to be just as delicious as before. It's safe to say that the food here never disappoints. Another highlight was the wonderful live music that filled the air. It added a special touch to the already great ambiance. The talented band played high-quality music, including Galway fiddling with soulful singing in between. It was a truly memorable evening. I must mention that this pub is one of the best in the Latin Quarter, with fantastic food and a vibrant atmosphere. If you're a fan of steak sandwiches, you simply can't miss their world-class offering—it's the best I've ever had! While my wife enjoyed her fish and chips, we both loved the live music and the overall ambiance. The only minor downsides were that it could get a little loud and cramped indoors, but they do offer outdoor seating as well. The pub's granite walls and warm, friendly atmosphere create an authentic and inviting setting. The live band's performance was accompanied by delicious fresh field mushrooms with ciabatta and a tasty side salad. It was truly a Gallic evening to remember. In addition to the delectable food and fantastic live music, the pub's attention to detail extended to their toilets. The artwork adorning the walls was truly amazing, adding a unique touch to the overall experience. I wholeheartedly recommend this pub to anyone visiting Galway. Whether you're looking for delicious food, lively music, or a cozy atmosphere, this place has it all. Make sure to drop by and enjoy a wonderful evening of great food, live music, and all-around excellent hospitality.

Excellent spot for dinner, highly recommend. The food is so tasty, very interesting menu and the cocktails are delicious. Food and drinks menus are both very extensive. A little on the pricey side, but definitely worth it. The staff were excellent, really attentive and friendly.

Quintessential Irish Pub with the best food we had in Ireland. Great music at night (we came twice!!) And the service was perfection. Everyone was friendly, especially Ellie! We would come back as often as possible! Well done!

Fantastic lunch at 1520. We had the mussels (large portion served with excellent bread) and the beef stew. Also had a side of garlic-Parmesan chips and would say they were the best chips we had so far on our 6th day in Ireland.

Visited on a Saturday lunchtime and received great service and the atmosphere was great. Food ordered arrived promptly and was great. Steak sandwich was lovely and my partners tribe fry up was equally as nice. Would have given it a 5 start review based on that experience. Visted the following day as we enjoyed it so much, and there was live music on. However this experience was not fab. No one greeted us at the door as they did the previous day, we took our own seats at the bar which was sticky and had chewing gum visibly underneath. Ordered 2 drinks, one of which being a cocktail. My partners drink arrived promptly but my cocktail took at least 25 minutes to arrive. Bar man was friendly at first, but obviously felt awkward and embarrassed about the wait and didn't engage with us to offer a solution. After waiting 25 mins, we asked him if we could cancel the order as we wanted to leave and he told us it was already being made. When it arrived, although it did taste nice, it didn't look as advertised in menu, and was served with a large ice cube taking up majority of the small glass. Didn't feel it was worth the €12.50, especially given the long wait. Atmosphere was nice with the live music, but drink experience made us leave prematurely.

I recently had a great experience at restaurant 1520. The selection of beers was great, and the service was excellent. The cozy atmosphere made for a comfortable dining experience. The lamb shoulder with vegetables and mashed potatoes was particularly standout - juicy, tender, flavorful, and filling. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Stopped in for a late lunch (1:15pm on a Thursday). Service was terrible. Food was worse. (It took 20 minutes for someone to acknowledge there were 4 new tables waiting.) When my food came, it was over cooked and cold. Cute atmosphere, but save yourself the trouble and pass.

Wonderful atmosphere since the building itself is very old and it's part of the ancient Galway city walls. Breakfast option was very good, only thing I asked for Poached eggs but they served me scrumbled ones. I didn't want to "bother" and ask to replace the item.. so I ate that without problems. Beers and Irish coffee was also good!

Went there for an afternoon drink with friends. Great service, great staff and such a beautiful bar with rich history! Be sure to look around for some interesting artifacts.

Didn't come for the music, but I am sure this place has a great scene. Popped in for a pint and some food. Irish stew is amazing. Would recommend. Big portion, great for a chilly day.

Amazing pub. One of the best ones i have ever been to. The vibes were immaculate. There is live music and wonderful, kind people. The drinks are also really good. I had both cocktails and pints. They were both good but nothing out of the ordinary.

Had a Tequila chicken burger which was unbelievable at under 16 euro, my wife had a Tribal beef burger which was close but Tequila burgers beats it any dad. Value for money was outstanding with what we got. Go there you won't be disappointed, lovely spot with plenty of room .

Got a simple bread and dip platter and some cocktails, but both were delicious! Staff tending us were so welcoming, would totally go again!

Fairly cozy place Stopped in for lunch Service was quick and nice Got a very large goats cheese salad. Couldn’t even finish it. But it was nice though. The soup of the day wasn’t ideal. Bit too much salt and wasn’t as hot as I think soup should be. Good bread came w it Place has a nice atmosphere I’ll say. And prices were fine for the area. Overall average

This place was amazing! Little hometown feel with lots of room! Live entertainment every night that was really good! We went back twice during our vacation! We didn't eat there, only had drinks but the service was very fast for as busy as they were.

Great place in the middle of the Latin Quarter. Friendly staff, great drinks, tasty food. Highly recommend the Cheeky Caritas which taste like very authentic Mexican tacos de cabeza. Highly recommended.

Great place, literally only discovered this place because it's part of the Hotel we've been for a few days while in Galway - The Residence Hotel. First day here, we've ordered the soup of the day and the goat cheese salad. The soup was potato and leek and the salad was a tiny bit sweet. We totally loved it! The staff is really friendly though and the salad was absolutely divine ✨ We've come back each night of our stay to have some drinks and a good craic. We've had the soup of the day for our last lunch in Galway - this time carrots and broccoli - and it was, again, delicious 😋

5 stars for the staff. 4 for the food, which was good, but too small portions. The haloumi burger was great though.

The place is really very beautiful, the selection of beer is really good with a lot of choice of local beers (coming from Galway and its region). The live music when I was there was really nice and the atmosphere very nice too. The downside for me are the prices, where I find it a bit expensive. Pleasant service

A nice old Irish pub, very central. Although we booked a week 8n advance and had a booking email they couldn't find us on the system. Therefore took awhile to get a table. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Good was OK, a lot was out of stock. Overall I'd probably only go back for drinks in future not good.
