Lovely ambience although we ate early. Very comfortable areas to sit. The road immediately outside is undergoing roadworks so be careful. The staff were lovely, very pleasant. The menu had some great options and allergens were clearly listed. There seemed to be a good range of wines to choose from as well as the usual beers, cocktails etc. The food was fine. Of our group, the signature Beef and Beamish Pie went down well. The Salmon Risotto was tasty but I think I would have preferred salmon without a crust in this instance. Service was prompt and again huge praise for the patient wait staff.

Arrived in Cork late evening and was famished! Gallagher's was one of the places that was still open and the service staff was so welcoming. It was busy when I got there and they seated me as soon as they could. What excellent recommendations of cod smokies and stout pie! They were happy to let me swap the chips for veggies. Oh my.. that pie was filled with generous, tender chunks of beef and root vegetables, bathed in a luxurious, velvety rich, delicious gravy..! The only problem you'll have is figuring how to keep your tongue from getting burned... too badly.. Darn thing is so hot but so delicious I could not wait to shovel another spoonful into my mouth. Burn was well worth it! Can get a bit noisy but I guess that adds to the buzz of the place. Will come back the next time I am in Cork! 😋

Typical pub fare served with attentive but not overly friendly service. The deep fried cauliflower was different and had a nice touch of spiciness. The Beamish pie is filling but slightly salty. The chicken burger was cooked nicely, had a nice crunch and paired nicely with the condiments.

We happened in here while visiting Cork and truly enjoyed our dining experience. The food was flavorful and different. We did not have to get fish and chips. The variety was good and the atmosphere friendly. We shared the restaurant with a bachelor party and other dinners. It made for a great start to our evening.

I visited Gallagher's Gastro Pub for the first time at the weekend and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, the wine list, the ambiance and the friendly efficient service. Niall at front of house was so accomodating and Eoin who took our orders was very friendly and saw to our needs for the evening, also facilitated us in moving to a cosy corner by the main window. Myles was our knowledgeable barman for the evening, the West Cork Whiskey was a good call. I will definitely be returning.

Hard to fault really. Been years since I was in here, never liked it back then but now... This a complete turnaround in decor, service, atmosphere, everything. Food was excellent with large portions, service was excellent. Would highly recommend trying this very upmarket bar on the trendiest street in Cork. For me it loses a star on price. €20 for roast of the day (beef), €19 for a Chicken burger, similar prices for pie although the burger and pies were very big. €11+ for starter I had etc... You won't leave hungry but bring plenty of money.

Went for dinner with visitors and really enjoyed it! Food was delicious and drinks were well poured. Everybody found something on the menu and they have a kids menu as well. Doesn’t exactly appear kid friendly from the outside, but they were welcomed and everyone enjoyed their meal. Good service too

Tasty breakfast and brunch options, would not have know this place offers breakfast if we hadn't randomly stumbled across - so there you go ladies and gents; good food at about €12 and then of course coffee and juice etc. Vegetarian options available. It's a lovely atmosphere, great colour combinations, and staff is friendly although stressed due to lack of staff

I had the fish and chips an a Franciscan Red label. The beer was alright. The fish and chips was not worth the 19 Euro. Compared to cheaper pup’s close by I decided to eat here because in the images it looked good. But it seems they changed the cook or had a bad day because they didn’t like to mush the peas and the fish was more batter than fish. Also the texture of the fish was too soft. For the food alone it would be between one and two stars but the stuff was friendly. The atmosphere is alright. There are quite a lot of beer to choose

Had the best crispy sweet and sour cauliflower of my life here, saying that as a resident of San Francisco. Great service, great food.

Quite a nice restaurant, it has always been very crowded, hence my desire to go and see it directly. We came during the special New Year's Eve meal which is spread over 3 days, so it doesn't quite reflect the normal menu. The food was really good for me (a salmon), my brother was slightly disappointed by his butternut risotto. The decoration remains sober and the music is sometimes a bit loud but overall it was a good experience I would come back

The staff were friendly and accommodating. Rosemary Marge cocktail was delicious. The food was out of this world. Get the roast in a roll you will not regret it. Highly recommend.

Really nice spot for a casual dinner and drinks. Small menu with great quality food. Cocktail menu feels very fresh and isn't the same old usuals. Really nice staff to boot.

I have been to this pub in the past and it was decent. I went here the other night with a group of friends and every single one of us was very disappointed with our food. A few in our group got the chicken burger and had a very hard time getting through it as it was extremely dry and chewy. It was very stringy as well as being tough— so much so that I had to spit it out at certain points for fear of choking on it— which makes me think it was frozen and then reheated rapidly. It was an almost €20 burger so I would have expected it to be much tastier. I was shocked at how poor the quality was given this restaurant has good reviews and my past experience here wasn’t bad. Everyone else at our table didn’t like their food either, saying it was very bland and flavourless. While our waiters were very nice and accommodating, the manager (I’m assuming he was the manager) who sat us seemed quite grumpy and impatient, which gave us a bad first impression. The atmosphere was nice, it’s just a shame about the food. I left feeling hungry and ripped off. I do not think the price is justified by the food. If you want a better chicken burger, I’d recommend sticking to your local chipper. Perhaps this was just an off night for the place, but I certainly won’t be returning to find out.

What a stunning experience! Came to Cork for a short stay, so I was really keen on trying local beers and spirits, and the staff was super friendly and helped with whiskey and bourbon and beer! Knowledgeable, assisting bartenders and waiters 😀🍻 Overall, really sweet spot, definitely recommend 👍🏼

Just arrived in the bar. Have been here regularly for the last 3 days of my trip. Spoken to rudely for standing in food serving area of the bar.. Literally just waiting for my drink. Hugely disappointing. All the good work for last 3 days and from a previous visit 8 years ago. Undone in 10 seconds !!!

What a service I got from you guys. Had one of the best meal for dinner at this beautiful restaurant and even forgot my wallet with a lot of cash in it. Went there the next day and got my wallet back with everything intact. Will always feel safe to go back there anytime, everytime

great service, friendly and fast!! A great spot for people watching, on the corner of MacCurtain street and bridge street. Very near the city centre, good meeting spot. Food is good, and there’s a decent cocktail menu.
