We heard about their new outdoor covered patio area; and, we were impressed. There was a bit of rain and wind. However, we were dry and warm. We saw White Horse Guitars. We posted a few videos of the event. The sound was good. The atmosphere was pleasant. A pint of Guinness was 5.50. Not sure if that was a special for the event or not. The team was friendly and helpful. Coughlans is wheelchair chair accessible. There are wheelchair accessible tables. #eventvenue #accessible #familyfriendly #groups #livemusic #localbusiness

Coughlans Bar is a great old style pub for meeting friends, enjoying live music and just generally socialising in a great atmosphere! The staff a very friendly and attentive! I had a fantastic pint of Guinness! I've been in Cork for nearly 12 years and I have to say I must frequent this pub more often, I've been missing out!

A lovely quaint old style pub, lovely staff,we went to see our Sons band,Blind Poets, room where they played was packed when we went in but an intimation gig,as they say,so warm though we had to open a door we sat near cos fan on ceiling mustn't have been working, cos u asked for it to be put on!!!! But overall we had a great time, really enjoyed the music, will definitely go back, but make sure to get into venue room earlier to get a good seat 🎸🎤🎶🎵🎻💜

Amazingly unique music venue hidden behind a laid back, classic pub. Very friendly bartenders. Good location. (High prices but that's the Cork city now I guess.)

The pubs in Douglas Street are often way more fun than a lot of the places just further down the road in the actual city centre and Coughlans is no different. Very chill place with a beer garden and a regular lineup of gigs on a stage in a separate room. So good to just come in and enjoy a few bevvies or to listen to a wide range of musical talent.

What a fun place! Seemed small when we first got in and then realized there was another semi-outdoor room with a whole Tom Waits theme, then another room linked to that one, then a whole open air area with a stage for concerts… such a great spot!

We went to the bar for the live band. Unfortunately the gig was cancelled but we stayed anyway. A great pub. Barstaff were very welcoming, great atmosphere. The fact that the place hasn't been tarted up really appealed. Great find, next time we're in Cork, we'll be back.

Top Notch bar, great live performances every week, huge smoking area with a choice of environments, classic tunes if you're a fan of the 80s. Get a Beamish if you respect yourself.

One of the true gems of Cork city. Don't bother going to Oliver plunket bar if you look for authenticity. The most Irish Irish pub in the area

This is a great venue for live music. The staff are incredibly friendly, great choice of drinks, large outdoor spaces (covered) Handy for city centre. The quality of the sound in the music area is superb. Small and intimate but atmospheric.

Just deleted my 5 star review of this place after being refused service for being “too drunk”. Out with my mother after 2 pints, have been talking about how great this pub is to her for a while and was looking forward to bringing her here. Won’t be back after that, felt embarrassed being sent away.
