Jim Cashmans

Bar Pub

😠 We had a very bad experience @ Jim Cashmans bar unfortunately. 😔 We ordered some food and drinks there: What we didn’t know - and we weren’t warned by any staff - that they were going to order our food (a pepperoni pizza and chicken tenders with chips) from the shop beside the bar - called Uncle P... People often mention staff, Great, great, atmosphere, friendly, Cork, pint, nice,

We had a very bad experience @ Jim Cashmans bar unfortunately. 😔 We ordered some food and drinks there: What we didn’t know - and we weren’t warned by any staff - that they were going to order our food (a pepperoni pizza and chicken tenders with chips) from the shop beside the bar - called Uncle Pete’s 🤦🏻‍♀️ The pizza was ordinary and way overpriced. While the chicken tender and the chips were tasting fish and impossible to eat. The cutlery also came dirty!🤢 After our complaints the staff agreed to not charge us the chips. 🙄 The drinks - which we assumed it could be at least better than the food since it is bar - also disappointed us: the mojito was watery and tasted water with sugar and a wee taste of mint while the alcohol free beer came hot alongside a glass with ice cubes to cool it down (?!) 😵‍💫 We don’t recommend this place at all.

I might only be giving this pub 3 stars, but it is probably worth a little more than that. I called in twice while I was in Cork, mainly because the outside gives the impression of a proper old style pub, and it doesn't deceive! It is great to see this style of pub still in existence so close to a large city centre. It is very basic inside, but comfortable, and has a number of TV's for watching sport etc. I had a few pints of Murphy's which were delicious, but there was also a reasonable selection of other drinks. Toilets were spotless, as was the place in general. The only thing it was missing, was an atmosphere. Maybe it was coincidental that when I called, there were only 2 or 3 people in it, and even at that, there was no conversations going on. From an asthetic perspective, it has a lot going for iteself, but it needs to build its atmosphere. I hope to be in Cork again soon, and will call in maybe on a weekend night, and can review again if it is different.

5.50 for a pint of Beamish, cosy pub in the city centre with a nice on-street seating area, good location for watching sports

Good wee pub. Far too many tacky places trying to be hipster nowadays, but Cashmans was a great place to go to enjoy a pint or two before and after your dinner in Cork.

Great spot for a drink after a hard day's shopping, would recommend the Beamish. Old style pub, no bs. Very central. Sports always on.👍

Fantastic pub! If you're in Cork city, well worth a visit - great pint of Guinness!

Very akin to a 'local' pub in the city centre with age of punters tending to be older. When we were there during a Bank Holiday weekend a DJ played songs from 60s to 80s.

Had never been there before - a quick drink before the Opera House but must say I loved the ambience and it's an Olde World pub which I love

Bought a wine for the missus and asked for a coffee for myself the nominated driver. "The coffee machine is broken" says the bar guy😜😜 Me eyeball twas broken, just. not bothered to power it on more like. Outdoor area really needs a good clean up/refresh, it's a bit sticky🤮 Bought the missus a second wine tho', so it wasn't too terrible
