I love a good old fashioned Irish pub, and John Henchy & Sons is one of those establishments. I’m a born and bred Londoner, with Irish and Scottish parents. Pubs like this remind me of my childhood growing up in South London - where if you wanted to find your parents of an evening/ weekend then you headed to your local pub! All of our local pubs had an Irish landlady or landlord, and a massive Celtic community. Sadly, genuine Irish pubs are rare in London nowadays, so visiting a pub like this, is like coming home. Great pub, lovely welcoming atmosphere, and reasonably priced drinks.

Nice little pub at St. Luke’s Cross. Has cozy little nooks for privacy and also your typical pub setup. Nice outdoor area. Nestled in a picturesque part of the city with colourful facades and nice views looking down Wellington street. Friendly staff and a nice place to catch up with friends. Perched high up in the city of Cork and in the distance if you look carefully, you’ll see beautiful rolling hills with a patchwork of manicured fields. Ample parking in the surrounding streets. Easier to get to by taking the #208 bus which stops right in front of the pub.

This pub typifies a local bar in a city centre that still manages to retain some of the old world charm that is synonymous with the Irish pub scene of yesteryear. The decor and the friendly banter between staff and customer is something that would keep you coming back over and over. The establishment boasts lively music several nights of the week from well-known cork musicians. It is the type of place you can add easily go for an afternoon cup of coffee as a lovely night out depending on your mood. The owner is also particularly welcoming.

Had a few drinks with friends here over the Christmas, it's a fine bar with lots of character. I live in the general area and any time I've been there in recent years, there's a new raft of college students behind the bar. And while I'm sure they are good lads and ladies, they are not the experienced and characterful bar people that this sort of place merits.

We like to visit John Henchy and Sons. The atmosphere is light and relaxing. You can roll up and grab a seat. The place is a bit historic with a modern twist. Meaning the inside is cozy and warm like you would expect in an Irish pub. The outside is a large covered patio. Mind you you will have to go inside and order yourself a pint or whatever you are drinking. There is plenty of seating available inside and outside. There is wheelchair accessible seating. There is wheelchair accessible parking nearby. The bus stop is literally a 2 minute walk from the bar. O'Keefe shop is across the way. So, if you are a bit pekish you grab some crisps or something to munch on. #irishpub #localbusiness #localpub #localbar

👍👍 Awesome place to grab a bite to eat and have a nice drink or three in downtown Cork. I had the fish and chips and the wife had the lamb stew...they were both perfect. Service was first rate and I'd highly recommend heading to the bar for a talk with the experts on a food whiskey choice! You cant...

👍 Crazy good prices on food and beverages. You sacrifice attentive service, but everyone I talked to there was pleasant and helpful. The food was good and there were actually a number of beers that I have not seen elsewhere in the Cork area. I would not say this is a must do if visiting from abroad, b...
