Great neighbourhood breakfast location. Breakfast is tasty, unpretentious and very well priced. The staff are exceptionally lovely.

Horrible place, were told no table service, have to go up to bar to order tea etc and take it down yourself, very squashed in there which not great for wheelchairs or people with prams, one man in there told us my friends child could get as much cordial as she wanted as she's a child, after her first glass and after 1 hour a woman then charged her 1 euro for it its always been free, they've no food there and their selling stale gone off biscuit's they'd charge someone for the air they breath, very outdated and on top of each other seating, staff rude close it down sell up to someone who wants to actually make something of this place

Today was the opening of the new cafe inside The Hawthorn. It was beautiful. The 3 of us had breakfast and it was delicious also the best price in Cork City that’s for sure! Will be back again.

Met a friend for brunch. There's parking in a small carpark across the road as well as on the main road. It's adjacent to the Lough Bird Sanctuary so it's a busy place for parking with people strolling around the Lough etc. Excellent selection on their breakfast menu, lots of people opting for a granola cup which looked amazing Loads of gorgeous looking cakes to have with a cup of tea or coffee. You can eat inside or outside. Lovely serving staff. There are some steps to navigate depending on where you'd like to sit but steps can be avoided also. Not open that long, called The Black Swan now apparently....at least that is what the menus etc. show. Enjoy 😎

Myself and my friend went in this morning. We were pleasantly surprised at the extent of the menu and great value for money. The food was delicious and the staff were absolutely amazing so pleasant and so helpful. We will definitely be returning. If you are walking around the Lough I would highly recommend you stop by. Well done to you all.

Four of us went for lunch today, we had a table outside with a lovely view of the Lough. I ordered the warm chicken salad. I asked the server at the counter if it was GF. On hearing my enquiry the chef came out to discuss how he could tweak the dish to cater for Coeliac. It was one of the nicest salads I’ve had and I eat a lot of them as it’s often the only option on a menu! My friends ordered the toasted special & an open sandwich. They were impressed by the quality of ingredients in particular the bread. I’ll definitely be back soon.

Not a bad bar pool table and dukebox and basic lounge that serves food. Located in a nice area by the lough which has a lot of wildlife predominantly duck's and a small playground for children close by

Love it everytime. Dreamily looking out at The Lough in all its beauty. A fab place to relax especially outdoors on a nice day. Plenty of seating available indoors. Plenty of beverages both hot and cold. You can have chocolate with your cuppa. Sit yourself down here for a treat after a walkabout feeding the birds.

👍👍 Awesome place to grab a bite to eat and have a nice drink or three in downtown Cork. I had the fish and chips and the wife had the lamb stew...they were both perfect. Service was first rate and I'd highly recommend heading to the bar for a talk with the experts on a food whiskey choice! You cant...

👍 Crazy good prices on food and beverages. You sacrifice attentive service, but everyone I talked to there was pleasant and helpful. The food was good and there were actually a number of beers that I have not seen elsewhere in the Cork area. I would not say this is a must do if visiting from abroad, b...
