EDITED (below is my review but since I was told the tofu isn’t gluten free but it still says it is on deliveroo 😬 so I’m not sure what is actually gf) 10/10 so so impressed. I tried Sober Lane for the first time a couple of nights ago and I was honestly blown away. They have 2 vegan burgers, one is Jackfruit and one is Cauliflower Tempura (I much rather these then the imitation meats, but that’s just me) so happy it wasn’t Falafel burger haha. I’m vegan and coeliac so I was delighted they had a lovely gluten free bun as well as “KFT” (Kentucky fried Tofu), crispy Tofu with a lovely sweet dip. Followed by GF brownie with Raspberry coulis. Really delicious and good value, €12 for burger and chips. Also free cocktail on a Thursday with click & collect 🙌

Staff were nice friendly to all deaf group for serving food & pints.. Nice big spaces & glow pub name on hanging leaves.

Couldn’t even hear myself from the music playing in Sober Lane. Contemplated dining and dashing as when I kindly asked for the bill the staff were too busy watching the match to comply. Condiment box was half the size of the table which was comical as the table size itself was the size of a napkin. Potion sizes decent, however the nachos were soggy, after only sitting for around 5 minutes. The ambiance is not where I’d go for a date night, good for a sports bar / lads pub - not restaurant quality however.

Don’t leave your stuff hanging around.Went in for a few drinks on a Saturday evening and during the evening decided to go outside for a smoke. Wasn’t 10 mins and jacket was stolen. Said it to the staff (as it was expensive and was raining) which they went and checked cameras as they was one located facing our table. He came back saying he can’t be sure and would not think it was taken but picked up by mistake … find that hard to believe and the lady at the next table recons he knew the girl who took it, so anyways he said he would ring me Monday/Tuesday to go through it with me. The days past and nothing so i decided to ring and not once did they answer the phone . So called in today in person nearly 2 weeks later and basically told “era hard luck nothing we can do” sound lads. Not a place I would recommend now if you want to enjoy your night

Food and drinks we so good - Nachos and sex on the beach cocktails in the photos! No pressure to leave. You get your full time and the staff were very friendly. Once our time was up we finished our drinks out the back.

Great pub. Spacious and comfy with a range of table heights. Great food at reasonable prices served by friendly and courteous staff

1st time ere and boy I'll be going back. Such a lovely big bar, really nice staff and food was v v good. Nicest cocktail I've ever had (ultramatum). Top marks.

Can't speak about the pub atmosphere but the food which arrived was really good. I would recommend the Chicken Burgers, Wings and Chicken Nachos. The portion size of the large wings was surprising, it can easily feed a table full of people. The Goujons were good too but I am just not into it though would recommend it for first time. The only item I didn't like so much were the Mac and Cheese Croquettes though the spicy dip served with it was amazing. Overall, good consistent food and it doesn't take long.

Great atmosphere and cracking food. Really enjoyed our night here recently. Great range of beers as well. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Ordering food through the app is a breeze and not one of our group had anything be good things to say about the food. My burger was absolutely delicious. Will certainly be back more often.

They serve pints so late that by time you get to your table they insist you leave and issue plastic glasses. In truth, they did the place up a bit and are too up themselves. Go elsewhere to enjoy an evening out.

Can be a hit and miss bar. Largely depends on the occasion, such as a sport event. Food is generally consistent and enjoyable. The pints are enjoyable and the cocktails are agreeable.

We went in a group, we reserved before. They informed us about the limits by covid when Stefan reserved. Food was very nice. Basically chicken, but also very nice prawns and the had a vegetarian burger. Ask if you don't like spicy as some dishes are very spicy. The Raspberry cocktail was pretty cool. The server was really nice, fun, cool, efficient. She made us laugh several times. I only disliked the mohito cocktail. The music was chill, not too high, as a group looking forward to meet again everything was pretty cool.. We enjoyed a great night!.

Solid place, they have great music and the inside was wonderful, music was a bit loud but that's to be expected on Jazz weekend. Would recommend for a nice night out for students!

Seems like a really good pub with a good atmosphere. Staff were friendly throughout. Also, food and drink are reasonable priced . We had a table booked and would probably recommend if going for food or that. Table service would only take food orders and not drinks, which does make a bit of sense. Food itself was good and the efficiency of service.

Great spot for food, atmosphere and very nice staff. Lovely pub, lots of little nooks and crannies to have a pint in and just chill. Always had a good time here.

Cool venue, food was lovely (wings and brisket burger were phenomenal), great choice of beers and stouts, friendly staff too.

Lovely place for drinks and food. They have better/different selection of food than in most of pubs

Was very taken aback at a waitress practically running to tell us in no uncertain terms that there were no tables free ,we could stand at the bar!!! Felt in my late fifties that we didn't suit their age profile so left and went to the much friendlier Oval bar nearby for drinks.

Myself and my partner had food there on Saturday night, the drink was lovely but the food was absolutely shocking, I did mention to two staff members and it was just shrugged off .. the food was hardly touched only half of a burger and some fries.. we weren’t looking for free food but a genuine apology would’ve went a long was as I understand every restaurant can have a bad day … definitely won’t be going there again..

Fantastic vegetarian food selection and generally great bar. You need a reservation because they fill up fast!

An employee "Bart" decided to refuse us service because he had "better things to do than clean up vomit @ 4:30pm" despite our party of 6 being sober & the bar being pretty much empty. We arrived at 3pm (which is apparently their opening time) they opened around 3:05 & gave us attitude for waiting outside. I wish them the best - they're going to need it to stay in business. Unnecessarily rude.

Honestly best service in Cork! Our waitres Rachel was so helpful. Down from Derry for the weekend and she gave the best recommendations including the goujons.

We had a great night in Sober Lane. Killian looked after us all night and the service was quick and friendly, food amazing, and we’ll certainly be back!

Stopped by on my way home to hopefully catch a glimpse of the Limerick game , extremely welcoming bar staff and very fast and efficient table service. Really enjoyed my short stay and definitely will he back thanks to all today

Great food but booking deposit was not refunded upon online cancellation, had to ring a week later to request this to be processed. Menu is delicious and service is always great inside.

Terrible food. I asked for delivery it was missing the beer, the burger and chips is really bad quality. The chicken wings were unbelievable spicy with a sauce that was impossible to eat. The burger came with so much maionese which I couldn't keep it in my hands. Better try other options

Avoid jackfruit burger at all costs! Got the jackfruit burger and some sides delivered - this is hands down the worst burger I've ever had. The jackfruit patty does not hold together, the bun was extremely soggy, and the SAUCE! The sauce was by far the worst - an unholy combination of Dijon mustard, maybe cinnamon and other spices, drenched the burger and the bitter taste overtook everything else. Extremely disappointed and didn't finish the rest, as you can see in the photo. Only reason I gave 2 stars and not 1 is that the sides (mac n cheese croquettes & fried tofu bites) were quite delicious. But if you're looking for something proper tasty and veggie-friendly, look somewhere else.
