Spent a few hours there sat afternoon, spent approx €150/€160 , asked for a glass of water before we left and was waved off and told I've other people to serve, totally ignorant man, nice place pity about the rotten manner in which the treat people, I'm sorry to say never again. My 1st ever negative review anywhereabout anyone., but I was embarrassed and left standing like a fool..

Unfortunately what was a nice day in Cork was damped by the managers sheer attitude. Upon reading previous reviews this seems to be a theme. We were in a group of 4 and two of us had just finished our drinks, he personally took them away and on return stated that there is a policy “no drink no table” and that we needed to buy something now. There was still two of us with drinks in hand and when we stated that he said “your friends don’t, we need tables for people that will be drinking, go upstairs to sit”. Don’t really understand the logic behind that one. Had no issues with service before this but disappointed at the attitude received - will not be recommending or returning.

It was my last visit there. I went there with my friends who arrived to Ireland to see nice place. Previously, I have been there number of times and never seen something like that. We spent over €80 and after 30min the fat owner said, if you don't buying anything else, you have to leave asap, even if some unfinished beers still been on the table. Highly NOT RECOMMEND this place. We have so many nice pubs around the city with very pleasant staff.

No proper customer service. The pub wasn't full yet the owner asked us to leave because one person around the table didn't have a drink. His words "No drinks no seats". This pub is too much focused on money and not on customers services. Demoralising.

On the that day, this bar busy due to Eve of Christmas. Somemore, a small raining for that day. When step in, noise pressure already can push my ear. Sit up and ordered the Mulled Wine. It was really nice, sure will go back and try to order Mulled Wine. This bar provide seat for in room or outside bar. Had make a friend in pub and the people are really kindness.

I had gone to have a cocktail there, and I was looked after by it’s owners. He is a elderly person who was super rude to us, and also he didn’t want to sell me a cocktail in the terrace(being honest IDK why, Because I am 35 years old and professional person). Since that episode, I have always tried to avoid to spend my money there. Kind regards. CVG

Last minute stop to grab an Irish Coffee. Mike was so friendly and helpful and even though they were closing up he let us stay and of course they had the BEST Irish Coffee. Stop in if you are ever in Cork.

On Christmas Day we ordered 2 Irish coffee with my girlfriend , spent 10 minutes inside and literally one minutes after we emptied the glass we have been asked to leave the pub unless we order another because of the queue outside by the owner. He stood next to the table , he gave us 10s to leave and stared us. Shocking behave from the owner.

Didn't eat here, just had a few drinks. Great pub right in. The centre of Cork City.

It's a very nice and cosy venue. I went there with friends and we tasted different types of Irish whiskey. The owner was very helpful with advices of what to taste. The man has a very deep know how on the subject and we spent time chatting about whiskey and more. I strongly recommend the place.

Stopped in for a quick drink and loo break and had to stay for another. Best whiskey sour I’ve had yet. Never thought of adding a lime and NOT on the rocks. Sublime. It’s the little things that matter, owner said, big things will take care of themselves. Don’t miss it.

Awful, overpriced coffee! I've been passing by this pub for years and always wanted to try their coffee as they are advertising their Irish coffee as 'the best Irish coffee ever'. I ordered a double espresso with some milk on the side and paid six euro for something that tasted like feet and soap. It was truly disgusting SIX EUR! Doubt that with coffee like this their Irish coffee is any better. What a waste of money that was.

I walked over with two friends who were about to get a lift home, I was meeting people inside but one of the girls just wanted to use the bathroom before getting a lift. She tried to walk in the door and the owner/manager stood in front of her and asked if she was okay, she asked if it was alright if she used the bathroom and he said no as "someone is just after getting sick everywhere up there", she said fine and walked away. After I said bye to my friends I went to walk in and he stood in front of me too and asked if I was okay, I said I was meeting friends inside and he said "oh I would have let your friend use the bathroom if I knew that", I said it was okay as she was already gone. When I went in my friend had just come down from the bathroom and she said it was spotless. A little bizarre! Bar staff were lovely inside but the man on the door made things a little strange. Not overly welcoming but the bar is nice enough.

Amazing service, excellent choice of drinks available. Clean, cozy interior set-up. Fun, and busy exterior set-up. Only issue with exterior set-up it might be a bit tightly packed making movement a bit tough. Yet, the friendly table service experience made it memorable.

One of the most charming pubs in Cork with great staff and ambiance, great bit of craic and life in it!

We stopped here for lunch. I had the special: fish cakes with chips. Both were fine. My mother-in-law had the Irish stew and said she liked it. My wife had the mussels. They had a stronger fishy taste than we are use to back home. I don't recommend them. I've included pictures of the food and menu.

My favourite little pub in Cork. Lived in Cork for nearly 30 years and it was my local. Now live in Wales and go there every time I come home. Beautiful local atmosphere and staff wonderful.

Right in the middle of the city. A well known landmark in Cork. If your.lucky, you will get to sit outside and watch the world pass by. Good pint sold here. Fish chowder as good as you get anywhere.

Le Chateau is the only bar on the main street of Cork City which is Saint Patrick's Street. It is one of the longest established bars in Cork and is always a really good place to visit. It has a very cosy and comfortable atmosphere inside and the outdoor seating area is great fun with so many people walking around the city centre
