We were a group of 4 looking to get a drink and a quick bite near Washington street, so when we passed by The Liberty and saw that they had a poster saying that they had pizza, we decided to give it a go. We ordered some drinks and food after checking the menu, which we had to pay in advance. At the time, we were not informed that the food wasn't cooked at the premises but coming from a different place. After waiting for our food for nearly an hour, we ordered some more drinks and asked one of the bartenders about the food. She said that it was coming from a different restaurant and gave no further explanations or apologies. Twenty minutes later the food hadn't arrived yet so we asked a different staff member, who said that there was a mistake with our order but that it shouldn't take longer than 10 minutes.There wasn't any more explanation about said "mistake". As you can imagine, we started to lose our patience but we waited for 15 minutes before approaching a third staff to ask for our food once again. She was apologetic but at this point we asked for a refund so we could leave and she said she didn't know how to do it...She offered a free round on the house and said that the food was about to arrive. We finally got the food and it turned out that the order was wrong so we were giving our money back only for the missing items. We found out that the food was coming from Lavish, just around the corner so it's hard to understand why it took over an hour and a half to arrive. The quality was quite poor for the prices we paid, which were higher than in Lavish itself. It's also worth mentioning that we never got those free drinks on the house or were approached with apologies. It was overall a very bad experience and shocking service so unfortunately, we won't be back and we can't recommend it.

Great bar. Friendly staff and a lovely pint of Beamish. Lovely cocktail bar upstairs. I didn't have any of the cocktails but looked at the menu and there's a very good selection.

Very lush bar in the city centre. Check out the cocktail room upstairs! Lovely staff and clientele. More relaxing and quieter than the nearby places, and with a great selection of craft beers. A hidden gem.

Bartender was really good at making cocktails and customer service. Highly recommend the cocktail Painkiller and if you like sweet cocktails, French Martini!

I love this bar. Fergal is great inside the bar. Great music (not live). A change from other usual larger city pubs.

Great quality beers, atmosphere and service. We came for the Open Mic night, being an open mic the acts are trying new material so the quality is variable but overall they were very funny and definitely worth going. We got some free sweets in the interval and nachos at the end, very kind.

I went here on a hen party. It has cool decor upstairs where we had fun party games. Then we went downstairs for a trad session. The staff were lovely and great atmosphere. If you are a smoker you can sit outside as they have stools and tables outside. Great buzz on this street

Very impressed! Was in SI for a week from England and thought to check out the open mic night with local comedians. Had the micky taken out of our group a couple of times but all in jest! Great atmosphere and lovely people, and a good selection of drinks. Fun place, would highly recommend.

Very rude and slightly aggressive young barman upstairs on a Saturday night. We didn't feel welcome at all. They were aware that a group of 20+ of us were coming that evening. We were all happy to spend our money. We had no option but to leave early due to the unfair, poor attitude from the staff. They missed out on more spend from us. I don't recommend. The staff's attitude stinks.

Not your average Cork bar! The Liberty has a cool vibe and unique artwork, definitely something to experience if you're looking for a night out in the rebel city. They seem to have some interesting events coming up as well. I especially like the music, it's not many bars in Cork that play the classics I like :)

OK mixed review here. Spend an evening with work mates, Alex and Rob at the bar were brilliant, good service but at the end of the night you deployed an over zealous doorman who literally took drinks from people's hands and was a,little too hands on when clearing the bar. He picked my coat from my chair and walked away,with it so that I'd follow his lead to the door, childish is an understatement Ruined what was a good night. Pity Liberty Bar, nice spot but I won't recommend or return

My friend and I popped in for a drink and when we got to our table we cheered eachother for our birthdays which were that day, really just quiet and to ourselves, and the barwoman came over a few mins later with nachos and sweets for our birthday as she overheard us- how nice is that! The interior is really nice, scandi, we werent upstairs only downstairs.

Very enjoyable and the liberty has been renovated and very nicely done, well done ! I met friends who were regulars, back in the day and all well impressed Cave like venue upstairs and there seems to have been a party there on the night we were there and they were having a nice time also Well worth a visit and the prices were good for a city centre pub

Lovely little bar, the barman is great and pulls lovely pints. Only loses a star because I thought the music was too loud, but sure that's personal preference!
