Simply meet your friends for a pint and a match. Real woody, comfy, fireplace feel bar with fantastic Ray's of light hitting all areas of the bar. A real treat

A perfect “old man pub”. Darts in the back room which is great fun. Always some sports on the TV although it’s never intrusive. Pints are great and very well priced. This is one of those pubs that hasn’t changed much at all in the last 20 years (or more), which is always something I look forward to when coming home to Cork.

A nice, cosy pub with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. There's a sizeable heated smoking area with a pool table tucked away at the back. The pints were very lovely. Would recommend.

Beautiful interior, huge beer garden and gorgeous pints

Great local. Burgers were decent, buns were a bit too crispy perhaps but burger and fillings were excellent, the fries were unreal and the coleslaw was really good. Pints were perfect. Nice atmosphere. Great spot for watching the Rugby/Football.

Great pub. Recently renovated. Good Guinness. Unfortunately Liverpool lost 3-1 to Brentford the night I was there.

I just stopped here on a clearly broken foot and ankle with a clinical boot in need for a quick stop to the ladies and was turned away for not being a customer. I doubt I have to describe how I feel about this 😔

Great atmosphere, warm and friendly service and AMAZING burgers 😍. I've tried all burgers on menu and all gorgeous and non greasy - the portabello mushroom burger was absolutely devine..... All so tasty and fresh! Perfect spot for a good pint 😊😊

Only delighted to come up for a drink in the Southern Star. When I moved back to cork 2 years ago this location had just closed so amazing to be in here now. Fantastic food and a great atmosphere. Would highly recommend the southern and the eastern burgers. Even if I didn't love a few doors down, I would be back again in a heartbeat

We had a get together of 50 people last Monday in the Southern Star and the service we got was exceptional. Ernest couldn’t do anymore for us, the food was amazing, the music was great and everyone had really great time. The people working there really were a credit to the bar.

GOAT bar, €6.30 for a creamy beamish and a ham and cheese and tayto samadge. toasted. allan behind the bar tells great stories and is handy for the euro coins for the laundry down the road. good

The electricity out the back was gone and the barman told us to play pool with the torches on our phones. Inside was dead silent aside from the mumble of the few auld lads that were there, the ice skating on a muted television, and RTE Radio 1 playing a chat show. Good pub if you're in the 80+ age category.
