I
travelled
to
Cork
with
my
elderly
mother
and
sisters
and
we
booked
2
nights
in
a
triple
and
double
room.
We
booked
the
Clayton
because
we
had
a
good
visit
there
4
years
ago
and
it
is
a
good
location,
particularly
for
my
elderly
mother
as
it
kept
walking
to
city
centre
to
a
minimum.
This
visit
was
very
disappointing,
considering
the
high
cost
of
the
stay.
My
mother's
bedroom
was
very
cold,
heating
did
not
work.
Staff
brought
a
plug
in
heater
but
the
room
was
too
big
for
the
small
heater
to
have
any
effect.
We
requested
that
she
be
moved
the
following
morning.
This
was
very
inconvenient
for
an
83
year
old
lady.
The
heating
was
much
more
satisfactory
in
the
new
room.
The
room
I
shared
with
my
sister's
was
not
of
a
good
standard.
The
single
beds
were
small,
more
suited
to
a
child.
The
bathroom
was
unappealing,
awful,
cheap
looking
tiles.
There
was
a
shower
curtain
on
the
bath
and
it
was
stained
from
mildew.
The
tissues
provided
in
the
bathroom
were
like
sandpaper
-
unusable.
Breakfast
was
the
most
disappointing
aspect
of
the
stay
-
no
bowls
or
plates
on
both
mornings,
porridge
was
like
gruel,
waited
20
minutes
for
a
boiled
egg.
Some
of
the
breakfast
staff
were
unhelpful
and
borderline
rude.
We
decided
not
to
dine
in
the
hotel
for
lunch
or
dinner
because
the
standard
was
so
poor.
Cutbacks
were
very
evident
during
our
stay.
We
did
not
get
value
for
our
money
and
were
not
satisfied
with
our
visit.
It's
a
pity
to
see
such
a
decline
in
standards.
