Having lived in Thailand and looking for good Thai flavors now that we live in Dublin has been a challenge. We came during midterm break for a little escape and this restaurant did not disappoint. The papaya salad was Thai spice level ( or super close at least) and the flavor was spot on. Not too much fish sauce which I hate when that happens and just well balanced in flavors. Pad Thai and Ginger chicken were also delish but papaya salad for those who can handle spicy. It’s better when it’s spicy. 🙂

Food was excellent, waiter was nothing but a gent. Top class service top class food. Restaurant spotless from head to toe. The men's toilet is one of those ones where you have a urinal and a toilet in the one space behind a locked door so you have the whole place to yourself, nothing like a private urinal if you ask me....fresh fluffy hand towels left in a basket for drying your hands, I don't mean to focus on the toilets too much but that's the kind of place this is, even the toilets are top class. Will be back of course. Lovely calm experience, full belly and no shock when the bill came either just perfect

Enjoyed the most amazing food here. I have been twice and the most recent was this evening. Started with the Pendang Chicken starter from the new menu and then had the fried seafood curry and the grilled chicken dish. Finished off with the selection of 4 ice creams - one of which is Thai Herbs. Delicious. On my previous visit I had the most amazing pineapple rice - which was served in a pineapple!! Staff are amazing and would return in a heartbeat. Hope to add a review of this restaurant to my website soon ! An amazing spot to visit.

Golden Elephant is my favourite Thai restaurant in Ireland hands down. They do the best red curry duck and it's our all time favourite. Both takeaway and dine in have never disappointed and I've ordered countless times. Sadly we are moving away and the food will be really, really missed. But we will be definitely back whenever we will visit Ireland again. Kris & Katja

Best Asian food in cork! Wow. I just started writing this review while eating :) but the taste pulled my attention back to the dish. The taste is truly Thai, amazing flavours. Competitively priced and quite reasonable for the food , ambience and amazing service The service crew is TOP notch. A must visit for any one in cork

Oh my goodness! It doesn't get any better than this outside Thailand, and what a treat to find it in Cork! Was sad to hear they were out of the papaya salad, until I tried the crispy fish with mango, WOW! What a treat! And the spicy sour Tom Tum Going soup was absolutely delightful. Great spice in both, fresh and fragrant. Friendly, helpful staff. Highly recommend!

Beautiful food, great service. Everyone loved their meals and were thoroughly filled. Liked the Thai beer option.. We just felt far too close to the people next to us, it was barely half a metre if that.

Excellent Pad Thai...fresh & authentic ingredients. I only got takeaway so I don't know much about the atmosphere of the restaurant, but the staff was friendly & efficient. I will definitely return.

Absolutely delicious. I got that red curry with duck takeaway and I say that it's the best Thai dish that I have ever eaten in Ireland. I also dined in the restaurant a few weeks back with with my girlfriend and the food was exceptional too.

One of the best place to enjoy asian food in Cork, with lots of selections on the list. I ordered roasted duck with tamarind sauce ima d it was sooooo good! Serving portions are just enough for one person. A bit more pricey than other Thai restos in the city though. Staff are friendly and attentive, though we had to wait for our table because the place only offers limited seats especially during the weekend. Make sure to reserve seats as it is a poky restaurant, and they do not have parking spaces too. Walk-ins during non peak hours is more recommended.

Omg! What a gorgeous food one of the best I’ve ever eaten in Cork. Everything was so delicious. The staff are so kind and welcoming, they explained the menu about the food and even the fresh fruit juice the waitress told me how they make… everything is made made from scratch, so tasty so fresh… the place is so cute and comfortable the decoration is adorable… I was so happy that I found this place… Forgot to ask the manager name but thanks you and your team were so lovely to us 👏🏻

Been desperately searching for real Asian food since moving to Cork (and thoroughly disappointed by every “good” pan-Asian place recommended) so was over the moon to find amazing, authentic Thai food at Golden Elephant! The dishes took me straight back to Southeast Asia. We’ll be coming here again and again — my new favourite restaurant for sure. Have to disagree with the few bad reviews on here too: service was fantastic, atmosphere cozy, and prices reasonable for the quality of food and proper ingredients they’re using. Can’t recommend enough!

Our favourite Thai restaurant in Cork. Always enjoy having a meal there. A reservation is recommended as space is limited and they are often booked out. Excellent and knowledgable service and always a great experience.

What a gem. The only authentic place for miles. No Thai restaurant in the city!! The chef is the owner and what a lovely woman she is and she is definitely interested to know how your meal was. Quality and the closest to Thailand you will get in Ireland. I have visited many times and always consistent. Its a lovely small restaurant upstairs so always book. I am constantly recommending Golden Elephant. No wheelchair access. Ps I saw one bad review and he wasn't happy about it being spicy!! I would suggest to him to stick to Irish stew ☺️

Can’t recommend it enough! My favorite of the night was definitely their beef curry with sweet peanut, it was 2 hours ago but I’m still thinking about how delicious it was! The spices, the sauces, so authentically thai. The owner of the restaurant is also very lovely and attentive. Their menu has a lot of options and I will definitely go again to try more of their dishes. Don’t forget to book in advance. Paid 20-30€ per person for a starter, main and drink for each.

Best Thai I've ever been to outside of Thailand. Unreal flavour and staff are very friendly and good at their job! I had peppercorn tofu, partner had duck red curry. 10 out of 10. Top class

This is one of the best Thai restaurants in Ireland. The food is amazing and it is exactly as if you are eating in Thailand. If you like Thai food and want to experience Thailand then this is the restaurant to come to. I would highly recommend eating here. Booking in advance would be my recommendation. They don't do Pad Thai from Friday to Sunday which is important to note. But the menu has plenty of other options to choose from. It is truly an amazing restaurant. We will be back. The cost included 2 glasses of wine.

The best Thai outside of Thailand. The green, red and massaman curries are our favourites. Gotten takeaway and sit-in here several times and it’s always excellent. Usually pretty quick for delivery even at busy times. Friendly staff. Highly recommend

Service was exceptional and ambience is really good but the food is not top notch. They need to reconsider the taste of the food they serve. Thai food is beautiful and should be given justice when being serve in the restaurant.
