KC & Son & Sons is a Cork staple! It is definitely worth the drive to Douglas to go stand in the queue down the street from their door way! Their pittas are really worth it! Staff: The staff are very friendly here. They are also very attentive and get the order right everytime no matter how big your order is. Food: They have so many choices to choose from here with their Pittas being the main items that they are known for! Some of their best pittas in my own opinion are the King Creole (Chicken), the Philly Steak (Beef) and my personal favourites the Angry Spaniard (Chicken & Chorizo) and the Kansas City Pitta (Pork). The Angry Spaniard is a hot Pitta filled Chips, Mayo, Lettuce and topped off with Chorizo, Chicken and hot sauce! Then the Kansas City Pitta is a hot Pitta filled with Chips, Mayo, Lettuce, sliced gherkin and topped off with slow roasted pork belly that is rubbed with their own blend of spices and coated in a homemade BBQ sauce! Whats not to love! They also serve really tasty burgers and they have the world of side options. These range from chips to Pineapple Fritters to their famous Chicken Bombays. They have these huge bags too if you order a lot of food or if you need to carry your option in one bag. Handy to bring it on a picnic. Queue: Don't be phased by the queue here as sometimes it could be 10 people long and just inside the premises or 30 people deep outsode of the premises! It does move fast and you won't be waiting any longer than 30 minutes to get inside to make your order. Layout: The new layout is much more efficient and it goes as follows: You walk up one side of the queuing area inside the premesis and at the top of this side you place your order, then turn at the top and you walk back down the other side towards the doorway and they will have your order prepaired and ready for collection juat as you go out the door! Overall Recommendation: I highly recommend calling to KC & Son & Sons as its a Cork staple! I always find myself here every couple of weeks and I nearly always find myself going for something different to what I ordered last time!

Amazing take away food. Must try.. Always have long queue but also very fast service only need 10 minutes to get the food.. The food wrap in paper no plastic used in packaging, go green concept. Value for money.. The food quality is excellent..

Definitely expected more taking in consideration rating it has, got a Phily Steak and extra chips as didn't see that Phily steak comes with chips, my portion of chips was half of my friends portion. And Phily steak was 70+% chips 20% onion letucce and mushrooms and less then 10% steak, 2 small steak bites I tasted were lovely but paying 11euro for a portion of chips and 2 bites of steak bit overpriced......

It really baffles me to see a few comments saying that this place has gone downhill recently. I actually think there's huge improvements recently. First of all their chips, which 10 years ago I never thought were that great, have been the best they've ever been. Always crisp and golden recently which I thought was never the case, as well as their most popular items being a more tastier now too. The new ordering system where you queue to a till facing the door first to place your order instead of shouting across to the counter, and then given a slip with your full order details and a matching order number to then give the staff members who hand you your order is a lot more efficient too. The below comment asking how they can call themselves a chipper if they don't put salt and vinegar on the chips for you is quite unusual, because I don't understand how they can only be a chipper if they do that, it makes no sense to me. This is despite that they have a large amount of salt and vinegar sachets on the counter for you to take as many as you like and for you to put your preferred amount on, which I consider way better service than someone putting an assumed amount of salt and vinegar on for you, and you potentially not liking it. On top of that, the staff are hugely friendly. There's one guy in particular that I've only noticed there in recent months that's black haired, Diego I think the slip said his name was when he took my order one day, that's hugely friendly, as he's always interacting with customers, either to take their order or hand it to them at the end, and he's always so pleasant. There's another guy that's been there for several years that's also hugely friendly who talks to you when he sees you on the street too. Overall, it's a very pleasant experience.

The food is tasty and surprisingly the service is fast for the long queue you would often observe. Portions are optimal for price. Would definitely recommend this place for meat lovers. Could be improvised with more vegetarian options. Also need including more varieties of grilled veggies to pitta.

I can't fault this place. Going here years. Was even a traditional weekly thing for us to get during secondary school all those years ago. Have not got for a few years today i made sure to be there for opening for a much needed creole and chips cheese and garlic and it was delicious. So so filing. I do think the spice on the chicken has changed from years ago from what I remember. I just think it's all gorgeous food. I didn't even think to take a picture cause the food was inhaled 🤣 My only criticism is, maybe on weekends alone to open up earlier, like lunch time of one a clock..it would cute alot of hangovers 🤣 Thanks Kc's ❤

So, we grabbed some Creole, Poultry (not for spice lovers though!), Burgers, Breaded Garlic Mushroom, and a side of chips. Gotta say, everything was on point - totally scrumptious! The portion size was good, and the chicken was both tender and fresh. In a nutshell, KC is lit!

How can you call yourself a chipper if you don't even salt n vinegar the chips, the portion of chips was quiet small and the chips were dry as if they were recooked, disappointed, the burger was nice but would not waste my time or money on this place again. Fair better chippers out there

Nice food from this perennially popular and busy spot. Only quibble was the bun of the burger I bought ended up quite wet and broke up.

I heard so much about this place. I had a burger and chips. The meat was good and they actually used real cheese. The chips tasted as if they were cooked in animal fat.

Been going here for years. Moved away for a few, so never go the chance in this time to get here. Back now and went last week, it’s changed now a bit but the food was exceptional as usual. If there was more stars I would put them.

Normally love KCs but this particular time I got the squealer and it came with no pulled pork and no barbecue sauce only a box of chips and a ton of mayo. Disappointing considering the 20 minute wait in the rain

It’s good. But not a 1 hour wait good. Don’t know where the hype is coming from.. same as any other good chipper..

Used to be way better. I've not been here for a few years. The chips were average, the burgers seemed way smaller. Still good, but you can get better in town. None of the family seemed to be working there any more, just what seemed to me to be imported cheap labour who were all miserable looking. Which felt uncomfortable with all the privileged Douglas crowd on the other side of the counter. Left feeling the place has lost something special

The food is good, but they need someone with better english skills taking the orders, they completely messed up our order. We ordered a king creole and a Kansas city pita, the guy the missed Kansas city pita from our order, then when we told him he missed it, he replaced the king creole with the pita, and we thought he added it to our order, then we asked him to charge us for the pita… in the end we ended up with to pitas and no creole because he was unable to understand what we’re ordering…

Great fast food.Good choice. Fresh ingredients. Good prices. 5 stars no doubt. As it is quite famous you can expect a long queue. But they're pretty fast inside .
