The food was very average. The staff were rushed even though there weren’t a lot of customers. the attitude was an issue. The muffins are not so good.

Found this place on Google as the closest breakfast place to my Hotel. Looked good on Instagram so came for breakfast with the family. We arrived at 8:56am to be dismissed in the rudest fashion by a staff member who couldn't even work up the strength to say Good Morning. They had just enough breath to inform us they are not open, they open at 9am. That's it. That's all. They couldn't care less what happened from that point forward. Wonderful stuff.

Awful place to eat. Please don't waste your money. Today I ordered avocado and eggs on toast and I received a half a slice of white bread not even toasted with frozen avocado on top. It tasted vile and I couldn't eat it. What a waste of money. Of all the places to eat in the city centre Avoid this place. The worst breakfast I've ever paid for and extremely overpriced.

Got a breakfast and seriously it wasn’t good. The person at the till was lovely I ordered my food I was asked to seat down and will be served soon. The floor was disgusting and sticky. I sate down then somebody came to my table with an awful look like being really bored to be there threw me the plate and left. No hello, is that your order, do you need anything else (…) My plate was an oily disgrace all was soaked in oil, the bacon was an half of a slice … pretty sure that the following customer will have the other half. The sausages hard and felt like being cooked 2weeks ago. The orange juice was a watery one like literally felt that it was water flavoured orange. The Pantry used to be good sad to see and taste this.

Not worth a visit for food. Don’t waste your time! I had a bad experience with the manager. She is so rude and grumpy. Short hair in a ponytail and wearing a blue shirt that time I visited. I had a misunderstanding with the other staff because when he gave me the soup I told him I’m waiting for my sandwich as well. He took the soup with him to the kitchen and few minutes later the manager came to me so mad asking me what’s wrong with my soup, why I don’t want it blah blah in a very angry tone! I dunno what happened there, I’m just waiting for my other order, which is the sandwich! Everyone was looking at us, when she left the other girl staff apologize and said sorry about her, the other customers told me she is rude yeah! I agree ☝️ I couldn’t even finish my food. I lost my apetite! It’s not that good anyway. The butter that they gave me is melted and not nice at all. Why is she a manager? She don’t know how to deal properly with the customers!

The place looked alright, but the food was not great. I had the pancakes, they were not cooked fully, very doughy and chewy. They say maple syrup on the menu and I asked for maple (since I don't like golden syrup) but I got given honey. They forgot the bacon part of the order too although they rectified it quickly.

I will never darken the door of this place again after the way I was just treated by the manager. Absolute cow!! Left me standing at the counter for a few minutes while she cleaned beneath my nose ??? Barked at me while taking my order and then quite literally threw the plate at me when serving me. I usually go to this place as it’s not too bad but the manager especially is bringing the whole vibe down. I had lost my appetite when I finally got the food after the way I was treated. It’s definitely overpriced and not worth it! Also steer clear if you have allergies as they do not take it with caution.. I specifically asked for no mayonnaise (obvious reasons) in my food but I could see the remainder of where the had obviously scraped it off (Manager is the main problem here!!!!)

Very disappointed. The setting looked inviting and menu amazing. The wait was a little more than expected, people who ordered long after us were served before us. When the order finally came my pancakes were nothing like what the menu suggested. The Carmel syrup was NOT a syrup. It was so thick and dark it looked like dry Nutella. Pancakes were dry and tasted strongly of flour. My partner got a plastic wrapper in his order for which we were refunded. After complaining spotted servers pointing fingers at me which isn’t very pleasant or professional. Iced coolers had way too much syrup in them. Very sweet.

Visited here lately with some friends. They were really impressed. They loved the food and hot beverages. They will definitely be back in future. Great staff. Well worth a try.

Ordered a Chicken bap, order accidentally got mixed up so received a Peri Peri chicken wrap, in the moment I forgot what I ordered but remembered after taking a bite, I was okay with having the Peri chicken wrap, it was delicious 😋 staff super friendly, great Atmosphere

Thought the place looked nice, but looks can be deceiving. Staff act with contempt towards you (barring one blonde girl who actually seemed happy to exist), not to mention the unhygenic practices. My partner was served a lukewarm coffee, and when she went to get a new coffee, they put her used coffee back under the steam wand to reheat it. I immediately stopped drinking my own coffee as I don't need other people's saliva in my drinks. Seeing tables cleared but not getting cleaned for 30 minutes after. Seeing other reviews from people who watched staff members go straight from card machines and tills to adding toppings without gloves on put me off the rest of my food. I would be *very* anxious for anyone with a serious allergy choosing to eat here. I supervise a similar establishment, and I would be shocked to see staff members working under me act in even a remotely similar way. Absolutely shambolic, the people in charge need to have a long think about what they're doing.

Very good service with a smile from the young lady that served us😀 . Apple tart really lovely with cream. No complaints. Lots of space even if a lot of the place was off limits.

Perfect place to stop for a break from shopping. Had a nice pot of tea served with very fresh scone,butter,jam and cream. Excellent service and price was very good

Staff were lovely, I’m just very disappointed in my poached egg as it’s over done and embarrassing to serve on a plate and call it a poached egg.

The food wasn't great at all .the milkshakes were lovely, the staff were great but the food wasn't great at all. This was first time visiting merchants key pantry. To be honest it doesn't have a patch on the one in fermoy.

We called in for a cup of tea, can't say I've ever had tea as bad. I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to improve on it, either by changing supplier or treating the water, or both. Merchants Quay is dying on its feet, the pantry was practically empty on our visit. Hopefully they can do something to resolve this.

I had the Caesar salad with a side of chips. It was awful. The chips were like the ones at at the end of the batch. The chicken was dry and there was a lot of fat on the bacon. The egg was stone cold (probably just out of the fridge). Staff weren’t too friendly. You have to get the cutlery yourself, the fork and knife had smear marks on them. I paid €20.20 for the Caesar salad, chips and a coke, a total rip off. Will not be returning.

The most disappointing meal and especially for the big price of it. Purchased the soup and toasted sandwich deal. The cup of soup (not bowl) tasted like packet soup. The toasted sandwich was the thinest meanest thing ever seen with no taste because of the amount in it. Chips were awful. Side salad was fair. Surprised to be told tap water isn't safe to drink at this food joint; haven't hear this in Cork before now. We were asked if we needed to purchase bottled water instead. One positive: the double expresso was good.

Worst place I've ever been,had no change from a €50,offered to go the shop,I've never written a bad review,but today was atrocious,went n bought stuff,wasn't gone 10 minutes but my breakfast,not having ingredients it advertised,was left there going cold,it was microwaved to death,the scrambled egg came up in one big lump,I asked them to stick it under the grill,it was put in a microwave,soggy toast,I wasn't gone that long to get change that they needed,everything was awful,I never give a bad review,but I'll never go there again,the sausages exploded,it was disgusting,to add to a f.u.,it was €12.95,I always tip,I said just give me back the fiver,throw the rest in the tip jar,she did give me back the fiver,for terrible service,but also Inc the .5c,I thew it in anyway,untimate fudge off,I will never darken the doors again,customer bringing there own food and drinks to a table I don't agree with,wouldn't be my way,but you will be closed soon,so much potential,I've worked at the best,I wasn't the best but your staff just don't care,I would've given them two weeks,now who don't care run it. . best of luck

Had an unbelievable lunch here. The club sandwich 🥪 and the smoothies were phenomenal. The Club sandwich is a must try. Really nice welcoming Staff

pancakes were literally raw and inedible. Took a bite of one and had to spit it out because it had reminiscence of burnt sausage from the pan they obviously didnt clean and reused to cook our pancakes ( im vegetarian as well so that doesnt make it any better ). Cutlery was also dirty

The coffee was great but the food wasn't it. I ordered the vegetarian breakfast and the veggie sausages just looked so disgusting. They were extremely dry and looked very unappetising. There are very delicious vegetarian sausages out there so that ain't an excuse. A lot of oil on the plate and I think the hash browns were just frozen ones. They looked like the ones I get in Tesco. You can get way better (fresh) breakfast for that price.

Had a toasted special, soup and a salad. Really nice food and friendly staff. Was only waiting a couple of minutes for my food.

Got 2 full pantry breakfasts with orange juice and 2 maple lattes. 32euro. Coffee wasn't warm enough and when the crunch was added by a bare hand that was just after handling the till and credit card machine. The orange juice was more like a capri sun. Fry wasn't cooked fresh only the fryed egg in my opinion was cooked to order. Food was out in a flash. As we got there it started to get busy. I felt like a hindrance to the lady. Altho friendly, short staffed. And food wasn't excellent. I won't return any time soon. Bring back hi burger.

Good menu, great food, generous sized portions. Bit disappointed witj choice if desserts. Service a little slow - I think they are understaffed - but overall pretty good.

The Pantry is a lovely cafe in Market Queue. You are away from the hustle and bustle of the ground floor. We had a cake and coffee. The cake was fabulous. The service was wonderful. She was friendly and helpful. There is plenty of seating for everyone. The back corners are great for those looking for a bit of privacy. Most of the tables are wheelchair accessible. The toilets are on the second floor. So, it is east to head to the toilets. There is parking. There is wheelchair accessible parking in the car park. I stopped here for food this morning because I had half an hour to pass. After dropping off my bag on seat i went to the counter to order my food poached eggs avocado with toast. Lady asked me for vaccine passport which is fine i don't have a problem with that. She told me to take a seat and she will send someone down. I waited over 30 minutes no sign of the staff members with my food so I left. So im disappointed with the service. I know the other staff were busy cleaning tables and dropping off food to other customers. I hope next time I go back here the lady won't forget about my order.

I do not recommend this restaurant. On the billboard it says that the ingredients of the drink are fruit + lemonade. However I got plain water mixed with juice. In addition, there was dust floating inside. The ladies working there do not even wear gloves. One of them touched my straw with a dirty hand. I do not recommend it, I was disappointed.

Food was okay and service was decent. A little on the expensive side for what you get but it is inside a shopping mall so it's to be expected

1st time trying this place had the full panty breakfast and I have to say it was absolutely delicious everything cooked right came with a nice pot of tea and toast at a fair price to oh and friendly staff couldn't asked any better

Scrambled egg with avocado paste on a toast and a cup of coffee will set you at €12.15 which is very expensive. Utensils are dirty as well. Why they are using a paste instead of the actual one? And the paste taste sour, maybe they add vinegar to extend the lifespan of the premade paste; scrambled eggs are salty, why would you put salt on customer's egg? Let them put salt on their own eggs please. Coffee is as bad as it could get, bitter caffeinated hot water?! Very bad food, never come back again.
