Music playing while we were eating was too loud making conversation very difficult if not impossible . Deserts arrived before my wife got her main course . The food itself is nothing spectacular it's adequate at best and overpriced . The organisation of ordering your food is chaotic . They do not accept cash ???? . The staff were not attentive to customer needs , when I asked for the music to be turned down it stayed like a disco , wasn't even turned down marginally . In all honesty it has great potential , the restaurant itself is lovely but I could not recommend it due to the way it's being run at the moment. The standard of cooking needs to improve , the disco needs to be reduced to background music and the system of ordering your food needs to be returned to the tradition of ordering from a waiter or waitress .

Wanted to try this place for a while after seeing some nice Instagram photos with delicious meals and some positive reviews here in Google...but WOW WERE WE LET DOWN BIG TIME. .. the only positive from a truly awful dinner was the cocktails, .. took us nearly 3 hours to have dinner and dessert due to incredibly slow service. Let's start at the very start, sat down around 7, tried to use the QR code to order online, didn't work, had to wait 40 minutes before we could get a waiters attention to make an order because all of them seemed completely oblivious to people waiting to order, even at one stage, 1 waitress brought food to the table beside us, we tried to to get their attention, walked away completely oblivious, we eventually got the attention of the next waiter who came to the other table beside us with food and he took our order. Drinks came in about 10 minutes, really small glasses compared to other places for the cocktails, but the cocktails did taste good. We had requested water for the table, didn't come the first time, asked again when our food arrived, also didn't come, asked a 3rd time eventually got water for the table. Onto the food, that we had to wait about 45 mins to arrive, looked quite nice as you can see in the photos but was tasteless, the goats cheese pizza tasted like a plain pizza with an undercooked base that fell apart as soon as you tried to pick it up, the smash burger, honestly tasted just like an expensive big mac and the chips were undercooked even for me (someone who loves soft chips). Finished our meal and was another 30 minuted before anyone came near us to order dessert, now at this stage the restaurant was close to empty, a number of waiters looked in our direction but ignored untill I got up to go to the bathroom and on my way back had to ask them to come to the table, before this there was 3 of them standing there talking, and to wrap things off, when we were going to pay at around we heard a supervisor or manager berate the staff for not cleaning table, probably right by the manager as they were just talking, but should be done in private. All in all a complete let down.

Very nice carvery but a very busy vast dining room spaced out into three main sections. Love the non carvery menu smash burger. Minerals are served in a tiny bottle for around €3. Full bar service and wines available. Dessert doesn’t seem to be made on-site. Service left a lot to be desired as available staff were flat out and a table code system is used for ordering. Staff member suggested using an app which defeats the novelty of dining out. Good food, average service and worked out a little above average expense.

Top class restaurant and bar. Major makeover and looks brilliant. Excellent staff and well run too. Just tried their breakfast and can't fault it. Looking forward to trying their lunch and dinner menus. Good luck and well done using the covid lock down to reinvent The Barn.

EDIT: I had originally left a two star review, with the second star due to the service, but the restaurant's response has sullied the minimal positivity I felt towards The Barn. They appear to have a tough time accepting criticism. My review is not the first to receive a less than constructive response. I'm reticent to give a negative review, as the staff are lovely and the setting is beautiful. They really did a great job with the aesthetics during the revamp. However, the food is absolutely horrendous. The quality of the food is really poor. The sausages and rashers in the breakfast tasted like the cheapest supermarket own brand stuff. The potato cubes tasted like Frozen oven chips. The 'homemade' pancakes were those shop bought, refrigerated pancakes. Even the orange juice and coffee tasted awful and artificial. It's a shame, because the setting and staff are lovely. It could be a wonderful place, but the food quality is truly awful.

Being honest wasn't the greatest. Finally went today for Breakfast for fathers day after hearing People raving about it..so it was I suggested trying it this morning. We had our 5 kids with us, and inside the premises was beautiful..I have to say I can't fault the decor and we were very we'll accommodated. We had 2 high chairs, and one high chair only had one click in part to it. No biggie but worth mentioning.. Was told to scan to order. We didn't understand this. In the middle of the table I thought there was some sort of a button to press to order, I thought that's what was meant. But no.. it was Qr code. So we tried this and it didn't work, so we tried to connect to WiFi and asked twice what it was. It wouldn't connect. There was a sign also so I tried to find the network BarnGuest but did not show up on 4 different devices. We called a boy over and he was so nice, he said oh he could take the order. Very nice so he did.. It was busy, I won't lie. We waited about 20 25 minutes.. A couple that came in about 10 minutes after us were served their food within 5 minutes. And I don't know was it the owner or the manager was talking to them. Anywho food came out, one breakfast was wrong. My own breakfast was lukewarm..not hot. I didn't bother saying anything as we were already After saying the First breakfast was wrong. I didnt want to be that "annoying" customer cause I know exactly how it is. Coffee was lovely, overall beautiful restaurant. Was just going mad that it didn’t live up to the expectation that I thought it was going to be. Maybe today was just busy. If I go again I might try lunch menu Next time. Fab car park aswell

One of Cork cities gems, plenty of parking, A nicely decorated restaurant in a lovely setting, tasty wholesome food, the deserts are second to none qnd all served by very friendly staff, who are always accommodating and courteous. Great breakfast served here ...try it out for yourself. Oh yeah , cash is no good here as it's card payment only.

First time in the*new* barn so the transformation was amazing. A lovely bright and warm space. Service was friendly and helpful. A couple of comments might be negative but the overall night was really enjoyable in terms of food and ambience. It did take 3 requests (from different staff) to get water for the table but the drinks arrived fairly promptly. One of our group requested no gravy with her dish but it arrived with gravy. Our coeliac person had to send back both his courses as the order came with gluten items both times. But the way it was handled afterwards was well done and it was very quickly resolved. Definitely something to watch though if you are coeliac! Fabulous choice on the menu and I think everyone was very happy with how everything was presented and tasted. There is a facility to scan and order and pay. As we had a coeliac it was recommended we order directly. You can see your bill as you add items too which thoroughly entertained my husband πŸ˜‚. It is a CASH FREE payment so no money is accepted. Important to note that. Plenty of parking outside. The lighting around the shallow steps outside wasn't great so we walked on the path. You're talking about a very short few metres only. Definitely be back though. Thanks to all the lovely staff.

Had a family meal here and thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Everyone was happy with their food and the waiter was very helpful and friendly. The atmosphere was nice and relaxed and it was very kid friendly. We will definitely go back again.

They have a really nifty ordering system where you order from your table by scanning a QR code. Really handy and saves on asking for the bill, or flagging down a waiter to order something extra. Simply add it to your order and within a jiffy it arrives. Overall the food was lovely, but we were a little disappointed with a couple of things. I got the crumbed goats cheese. Lovely and light, but it didn’t come with the spinach crisps as advertised. It came with a dry green salad; no dressing. The current chips were a little underdone and cold. The staff were all super helpful and friendly and like I said, overall we left happy.

Went here for breakfast recently. Havn't been here in a long time, but heard alot of great things about the food, so had to try it out for myself! What a lovely gastropub. Stunning, chic modern restaurant, and the food is amazing. Staff are so welcoming and the location is just perfect. Plenty of parking in an excellent central spot. Would definitely recommend and cant wait for our next visit.

Short queue to go in at 11am Sunday morning. Nice barn-themed dΓ©cor inside and out. Lovely cosy atmosphere inside with funky lights and jazz music and some covers of pop songs. We were seated at a table near the window with a couch on one side and chair on the other side. Lovely view outside the window of the outdoor seating area and the surrounding fields. We had to wait a little while before our order was taken. I appreciated that our hot drinks were served right before breakfast. I always prefer to have my drink with my meal. πŸ‘ŒπŸ½πŸ’― As for the food itself, I tried eggs benedict for the first time and ordered a Barry's tea with oat milk (they also provide almond milk and soya milk 😊). The meal was presented and cooked very well. I enjoyed it although it had a little too much sauce for my liking. My partner enjoyed his cheesy bacon and egg hash and americano. The breakfast runs from 8:30 - 11:30 and brunch from 8:30 - 4:00 and lunch from 12:00 - 19:00 which I was impressed by. I am very much looking forward to returning here soon. 🀩😍

Fabulous Gastropub, with a very varied menu and carvery. You can order and pay via a QR Code on your table which is extremely fast and efficient. Food was scrumptious, would highly recommend.

We were there for Breakfast and it was a wonderful place, wonderful people and wonderful food. We loved every bit of their food. Prices are also reasonable. It was a holiday and the place was quite busy. They said it will take half an hour to serve food but they served in less than a half an hour. There is plenty of parking space at the rear side of the restaurant. I have no hesitation in recommending this place to anyone.

Had a lovely breakfast here this morning with my wife and 2 small girls. I loved the layout of the place, it's got a nice covered outdoor area. The staff were lovely and the food was great. It's also much better value than my usual breakfast place in Carrigtwohill so I'll be making out my new usual place for sure.

The Brazilian Pizza, cooked by Brazilian Cheff, it was delicious! It’s not 100% similar, more likely to 60%, but is very very good! The price is not expensive and the environment is pleasant. But the staff service is not so good, it takes 20 minutes to them give me the check and the place it was not full.

Really wonderful gastro pub. Beautifully laid out. Easy on the eye. Staff were terrific. Very accommodating and great fun to talk with. Only minus I have is that the menu is quite limited. Needs updating and include some proper meat and fish dishes. Otherwise loved it there.

The food was delicious. Their system of service however is not good. We had to order the kids food from a menu and we got our own from carvery. Ours was nearly gone when the kids came out. And we had to then ask for cutlery. Then the opposite happened for desert. The kids ordered theirs from the menu and got theirs quite quickly. Then I went to get mine but got told I should have ordered from the table. So mine came later.

My order didn't come as it was described or as it looked in the the menu picture and I was very disappointed with the food I got. It took long enough to get the attention of the waiter to wipe the dirt table we were seated. The meat carvery options were good but the sides didn't look good, maybe because it was 3pm.

Beautiful setting especially in the conservatory. Food is beautiful from both breakfast and lunch menus. Personally, I love the QR code ordering system. Very fast and efficient. Food is reasonably priced, large portions. Minerals are questionable, the coke tastes flat and stale and it very overpriced. But honestly I wouldn't leave it knock my experiences of this place, I would just choose something else to drink. Never seen staff in a customer service job so happy. Worth a visit.

Situated near Glanmire town, plenty of parking. Beautiful throughout, nice welcome and guided to our seats (Saturday lunch time - prebooked table) however plenty of seating was available. They offer a massive selection for carvery dinner. We went for options off the menu, Pizza, hot chicken roll, pancakes, salad and all left very satisfied. So fresh and tasty, service was absolutely amazing with really nice chatty friendly waiters/waitresses Very prompt too. I had the biscoff pancakes which was very reasonable pricing €6.70 Beautifully decorated for Christmas and nice views of the country side. Lots of hidden seating for private gatherings and has a lovely bar Definitely recommend a visit and hope to return

Called in for some dinner on Monday evening. Delighted to see a carvery. We had 2 roast lamb dinners. Lamb very tasty and good selection of veg, especially the roast spuds and cauliflower cheese. Salted caramel dessert was delicious too. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The only downside was that my companion noted the ladies could have been cleaner. However the main area decor was nice and it was clean, neat and tidy. An enjoyable dining experience.
