Probably the best supper I had since I’m in Ireland, fish was fresh and tasty and the chips 😱very nice.a friend recommended me this place and said to try,and I was nice surprised, because usual I get disappointed when I get a chipper because usual is just greasy and not tasty. I really liked the battered sausage 🤌🤌🤌cheeseburger was ok,ordinary. Price is reasonable! I’ll go back for sure! Highly recommended Oh I forgot to mention:fish and chips supper is a big portion with 2 fillets inside, good for sharing with 😍😍😍

The fish and chips were amazing. But damn, consider reducing the amount of chips, you can feed a family with all of them!! I have seen several people throwing away the potatoes because they were not able to finish the food..

Forgot tubs of curry in the order. Forgot the salt and vinegar. Sausages were completely overcooked and hard - had to use my hands to break a piece off and the batter was like an egg-shell. Chicken had large feathers sticking out all over it. Photos attached as evidence. Don't touch the place 🤮🤮🤮

When I was a child, Jackie Lennox’s was always a pit stop when in Cork City. As a student, it was a frequent spot for a huge meal for a good price. And as an adult, it’s still a frequent pit stop. It’s quite simply one of the best chippers in Cork City, and therefore one of the best in Ireland (sorry Dublin chippers, you’re good, but Cork chippers win). My favourite order for over 3 decades has been bag of chips, batter burger and a carton of curry. My sisters love the potato pie. My dad is a fish & chips man. Every e has their favourite here.

Great place to indulge in fried food with a price to quantity ratio that’s just insanely low. You get so many chips for such a little price. I got the Fish&Chips, the fish itself was a little underseasoned and the batter a little too thick so the inside got a little mushy, but it was still good. Chips were the bests I’ve had in my life frankly. Thick cut, fluffy inside and a crispy outside, with a strong potato flavor. The tartar sauce was very good as well. I got a cheese and onion pie as a side and it was nice too, maybe a little too paste-like inside? Overall positive experience! I’d go again just for the chips.

All I kept hearing about from Corkonians was how brilliant Jackie Lennox's was. Having tried it, I can honestly say it's miles over-rated. First and foremost, it was quite nice. I got the Regular Chips/Peas and Breast in a Bun. The burger was really tasty, but not very big. The real letdown were the chips. I mean, they were nice and all, just what you'd expect from any decent Chipper worth it's salt. Speaking of which, the establishment never offered or asked if I wanted Salt and Vinegar on my chips, so was a bit miffed when I got home to be honest. I just assumed they put it on, hence why I wasn't asked. If this was any other Chipper it would be 5 stars, because as I said, the food was really nice. I was just expecting a bit more from the 'Best Chipper In Ireland'. If that's the Gold Standard, then the average Irish Chipper must be fairly average.

Have not been here for years but we were passing so dropped in to see if it is still as good as it was. It is still a great chipper. Great chips and tasty meals. The chicken supper meal was amazing. The breast in a bun was also nice but the sauce was not as nice as it was years ago. I prefer a nice sauce and lettuce not coleslaw but that being said the chicken was cooked well and tasted great in both meals.

Best chips I've ever had. Great staff. They're like a finely tuned engine. I only wish they'd extend their opening hours later.

Used to be great but the last few click and collect orders have been a disaster. Always left short something, tonight it was large chips and curry and 2 cheese and onion pies. Seems to always be a disappointment these days! With the exception of a few weeks (where the manager was very helpful to be fair) it is impossible to contact them. Its expensive enough without paying for food you don't get. Will be looking for a new chipper after over 20+ years of being a loyal customer. Very sad, they once had an excellent reputation is gone downhill so quickly.

Not recommend fish and chips. Mashed peas soaked all the stuff, fish with a thick batter but a plain taste. Please improve the package, put the peas on an individual box. Update: The opening time is not correct. I visited at 10:10pm only found it closed

Jackie Lennox Chipper is an iconic chipper in Cork City. The staff are always friendly and usually have a laugh with their customers! The menu is extensive and it is located up high at the left and the right of the main counter. This is to allow for peak times when there is two queues at eaither side of the chipper. I highly recommend getting chip and a "Breast in a Bun" chicken burger. The "Breast in a Bun" always delivers on satisfaction but run at your own risk of feeling stuffed if you manage to finish it😅! I also recommend getting a side order of garlic mushrooms, they are brilliant! They are massive and very filling! The batter sausage and onion rings are also great!

Had my best cod & chips here. The food was amazing! The meal was large and rather not expensive. No bad taste or smell of oil. The service was quick. No dine-in.

As you'd expect, fast efficient service, generous portions. Cod supper curry instead of peas. Using a light batter very tasty.

Been meaning to leave a review with a long time. Coming here for years, this is the best chipper in Ireland. Chips are always perfect. There is a reason this place is loved by locals. It’s fab.

Here’s the thing: simple food but done extremely well. The fish of the day was haddock. Lightly battered. Piping hot. Even the ketchup was delicious and the tartare sauce was epic. It brought me back to my childhood - a time before everything started tasting factory made and soulless.

Not that impressed really. The chips are not quite what they used to be in my opinion and I think the service has gone down hill in the last decade. The chips were just not great and had turned soggy when I got back to the car only a few mins after I was served. I remeber a time when you would be served with smiles and jolly, but when went in last week I felt very uncomfortable. I thought I had walked into the slaughtered lamb

Chips are too much I think 1 full chips bag is enough for 2 adults and 2 children. Staff did not inform us about this and we had left a massive amount of chips uneaten. Ordered roasted poultry- nothing special, no taste, blind. Ordered battered fish - nothing special again. Ordered burger- nothing special Ordered chips- nothing special about it( my expectation was high but looks to me just normal chips pile and pile) 70 years of business and lots of good comments but for me nothing too special about this place.

Top class. Cod suppers and potato pie(thyme mash battered ball). Cork History adorns the walls. Relaxed outdoor seating and rock shandy to boot. 10/10

Easily the best chipper in Cork - a wide menu of extremely high quality across the board but the real reason they're number one is how good the chips are. Especially if you buy the curry sauce as well which is just perfect.

It was recommended to me by a local; Amazing food, good prices, one portion is basically for 2 people. There's not a lot places to sit though

Delicious. Also, I could watch those folks wrap and salt/vinegar fish & chips for hours. 12/10 would recommend.

The food is as good as any fish n chip shop 😋, if not a small but tastier but I noticed a difference in my favourite breadt in a bun ? The chicken is fantastic but the salad dressing has changed ,I'm been picky but uys the only place il get a breast of chicken in Cork.

I was a regular customer when this was the best fish & chips in Cork. I used this a few months back and was so disappointed. Today I decided to give this another go. Unfortunately I won’t be back. The chips are not good. The fish batter is stodgy and everything sticks to the paper! 👎

We live nearby and can honestly say that we won’t be going back - it’s been bad for a while but we gave it a few chances - no more. I waited over 20 minutes to get my food and it wasn’t even busy. The oil used for the chips clearly hadn’t been changed in a while. The chips had that yellow burnt texture. The bun on the salad burger was hard. Overall the food was not hot. Honestly it’s nothing like it was. Shame but I won’t be giving them any more chances

Great place to get chips and a burger. At first I thought I had to eat my meal on the bar counter on the side. But it was great to know that I could take my meal and go eat it around the corner at the pub called Gaia which has a very nice vibe and friendly staff.

Every bit as amazing as I remember from living here 10 years ago. Definitely not the healthiest but holy cow what a great food buzz afterwards.

Best chipper in Cork! Staff have a fantastic memory for orders. The veggie burger is fab, but an ordeal to make 😂😂
