Without a doubt, one of our best dining experiences. Tapas portions brilliantly prepared and a wine list rarely seen. While reservations are recommended well in advance, they have 2 tables and the bar for walk-ins. But queue up at 5 to get a seat. It’s worth the wait!

Excellent service and delicious food all round. We ordered a good few plates and everything was spot on. The special was croquettas and they were delicious. Our waiter, Helena really took care of us! She was just amazing! Reservation system a bit of a faff but other than that fantastic experience.

Got a table without reservations - they always hold a couple seats for walk ins. Had a fantastic meal with great service. With a bottle of wine and dessert, dinner for three came to 125 euro. Best meal I’ve had in a while for a great price. Highly recommended. Would go back.

During our 10-day trip around Ireland this was our very best meal. We got so engrossed we basically forgot to take pictures! 🤣 Every dish (and we did order a lot of them 😇) was excellent, and the staff were equally kind and helpful throughout our meal. A fantastic wine list, to top it all off. NB: reservations have reopened! Reserve!!! The restaurant gets absolutely hopping but if you can (as we did) get it, then the back garden is highly recommended.

Best food I’ve had yet in my 3 trips to Ireland. We enjoyed the croquettes, chicken liver pâté, oysters, risotto, charcuterie and the duck over a lovely bottle of red. This spot had an amazing atmosphere to end our time in Kinsale. Service could be improved but overall highly recommend this spot if you’re craving great food with great company.

Best restaurant in Kinsale. Relaxed, cozy vibe with amazing food and wine. The staff were wonderful and everything we ate was absolutely delicious - do yourself a favour and order the mushrooms on toast!

What an amazing wine and tapas bar! This restaurant features an outstanding wine list to please the pickiest of aficionados and all of the right charcuterie and cheese selections to go with it! If you're looking for mains, The Black Pig regularly has equally impressive dishes that you can keep to yourself or share with your company!

This restaurant came as a recommendation from a colleague in Dublin. If you're in Kinsale or anywhere close, this is an absolute must restaurant. The service was absolutely fantastic, with super friendly people. The food was everything we hoped it would be and more. We ordered almost everything on the menu and several things twice for our group of five. This is not a small.menu either. The wine list is enormous and EXCELLENT! If you call and can't get in keep trying as it is well worth the effort!

One of my all time highs. Fabulous food. The balsamic vinegar is 15 year old...tastes like molasses. The food is served at exactly the Right time, just as the previous dishes are finished. As if there's a fairy standing behind watching you. A real highlight. Worth booking a month in advance. Highly recommend. ❣️

Where do I begin? Food, service, atmosphere, this place has it all. Started out with an amazing vermouth on the rocks. Progressed to a delicious glass of champagne with 1/2 dozen oysters. Grand finale was a small charcuterie board with a glass of biological negroamaro from Puglia. My dining partner loved her mozzarella with sun-dried tomatoes and basil. Great jazz music. Perfect lighting. Professional knowledgeable staff. Must see food destination in Kinsale.

What a start to our road trip through Ireland! From the beginning the staff, the atmosphere and the food were beyond!! We didn’t have a reservation but managed to get a table after all, it was worth every minute we waited. Elizabeth, our waitress was very attentive and helpful and made amazing recommandations regarding our orders It was by far one of the best food experiences so far Highly higly recommended to others! The food on the picture might not looks very pleasant but I’m telling you, it was damn delicious! Especially the burrata they had as a special.. in food paradise there at the Black Pig! Will definitely add a pin to this location for future trips to Ireland

Great experience. Good food with a Spanish feel. Boquerones were like in Seville. Nice mix of meat & cheese.

The Simon from Prim’s bookstore that recommended to me this restaurant. It’s a great atmosphere, beautiful decoration, great wines, nice music on stereo and delicious tapas. The staff is great too, I was super welcoming there. Please let me know the artist name of the 2 big paintings in the mean room. Sure I will be back, thank you.

Went to the black pig for my birthday with friends last sat. From the second we walked in it was amazing ! Staff were fantastic and so attentive. We ordered most of the menu as we shared it all between us - food was 10/10, the monkfish and croquettes were great ! Paired with fab wine. We come to kinsale once a year and I can’t wait to return again !

This place is a MUST when in Kinsale!! We spent two weeks in Ireland for our honeymoon and this place was our FAVORITE meal of the entire trip! We can’t wait to go back to Kinsale for this restaurant! We walked in on a Friday in April around 830pm and were able to get two seats at the bar. We will be back!!

Hands down the best food in Kinsale, staff are friendly and the atmosphere is really good (try get the patio and BOOK IN ADVANCE). I went with a party of four plus our toddler and there wasn’t one piece of the meal we didn’t say “oh my god that’s amazing” well worth a visit as it won’t disappoint. Also price isn’t unrealistic based on the quality.

We took a family trip to Kinsale recently and got the opportunity to visit this little gem on a back street in the heart of the village. I was blown away by their hospitality and quality of food and wine. Gavin and his team have really created something special, incredible wines with some stunning small plates. A very buzzy vibe, and a place you need to book in advance. I would like to make a special mention for Brendon who was our server for the evening, great suggestions and a man who is hospitality through and through. Certainly a highlight of our trip to the Emerald Isle.
