I suppose it's nice as a tourist, but the bells ring every hour, and random people are allowed to just go inside and ring them without having any idea how to. It is unbearable, if you live nearby you'll just go crazy here. Awful.

Fortunately the bells were open again so we all had the opportunity to ring them , not to difficult as the ropes are easily accessible. The steps and passage up to the top is quite narrow but it's worth it for the views of Cork. Apart from ringing the bells and the views there is not really much to see, it's a small building. It is still worth the climb and the fun of ringing the bells. If you quick enough with the ropes you can create a decent tune

Come here for a visit & you can ring the church bells yourselves. There’s several choices of songs you can follow by pulling on number coordinated bells pulleys. From “joy to the world” to the Lord of the Rings along with many others. I thought it was really cool as I’ve never rang church bells before. Also, you can climb the 132 steps to the top of the bell tower for a nice view over Cork.

Ancient churches are interesting. You can sit in the main hall to relax and collect your thoughts, you can look at old books, and you can climb the tower and play different melodies on the copper bells - children especially like it.

It was one of my favourite attractions in Cork and, even if the Church is really simple and the tower seems (and is) really old, and not really tourist-friendly, I was so happy to visit it! You can visit the Church for free but you have to pay to go up to the top of the tower (5€ adult, 4€ student/senior, 2,50€ child and 12€ family). It's quite difficult to reach the top and I don't think that anyone can do it, because you have to get through the bells (and you MUST wear the headphones that the friendly desk lady will give you). Despite that, the view you'll see when you reach the top it's amazing and breathtaking! You can see all Cork and it's so beautiful; it's not really busy and you can stay up there as much as you want. And when you reach the first floor you can ring the bells: it's so amusing! I absolutely recommend it.

Unfortunately the church was closed when I've been there. Although that I liked. I love that kind of construction, love to visit churches.

This was an a very reasonably priced experience at €5. You climb the stone steps up into the bell tower, then climb a ladder & step through a small space to the next stairway which is very narrow & steep. However, once you reach the top and walk outside, the views of Cork are breathtaking. You wear ear protectors on the way up to protect you from the bells as you pass by them on your way to the top. On your way down on the 1st floor you can pick a hymn or song from the book and ring it out on the Shandon Bells. I would suggest you go with someone who will wait outside & record it as your chosen song chimes over the rooftops and down the hillsides. It is truly a lovely experience.

Breathtaking view of Cork city. Quite surprising the tricky climbing through narrow staircase passing right next to the bells 🔔 and behind the giant clock 🕰

A great place, must visit, Corks' The most attraction. Rich history. Visit the bells, play with them, there are few short plays you can try your hand on. Mind your head, keep the ear plugs on at all times, especially walking through the stair case with bells Staff is courteous.

On top of the tower, you can ring the bells and catch mesmerising views of the whole city. Fun fact: Shandon bells has found an innovative and fun way of ringing the bells. There are notes written of various songs that we can refer to and ring the bells that brings out melodious tunes of those songs. I found this as one of the most fun ways to discover the city. Note: the steps are steep to be careful and have fun on top :)

Visited by accident to go up the tower. They have church bells that you can ring and play tunes on, complete with instructions on how to play tunes on them! Amazing

Really pretty church and climbing to the top was a unique experience. Being able to ring the bells was fun. Prior to the last staircase there is small 4 step ladder, if you have mobility issues this would be difficult. Great views from the top and very interesting to see the bells. Probably spent an hour here to slowly enjoy it, but you could do it in 20 minutes.

Very nice, well preserved, the way up to the tower is a little tricky, probably not for everybody, but it's worthy. Nice view of the city from the tower. You get to play the bells, lovely!

We did not get to see the tower because it was closed - as we were coldly informed by the lady at the entrance. The building is very impressive and the 10 minutes spent around and inside were nice

Quite beautiful protestant church in Cork. From the outside is quite nice with the two different colours, grey and red. The inside of the church is nothing special. For 5 euros you can go on the top of the tower bell and ring the bells.

It is a worth visiting place. The 132 steps climb up to the tower terrace is fully refunded by the spectacular Cork City panorama view. The free ringing of the bells by the visitors adds more interest to being there! I pitty people living in the neighborhood for their suffering of this.

The Shandon Bells is a unique experience. I brought four young teenagers, one was terrified whilst climbing the winding narrow stone steps, I'm sure her screams were louder than the bells, but all made it to the top, where the views of Cork city are amazing. They especially loved pulling the bell ropes to ring out some tunes. The woman in reception was very friendly and welcoming.

A journey to the top of Shandon Bells is definitely worth it! Learning about the parish and building is self-guided and takes about 25 minutes, the climb up 192 stairs and 4 levels to the top, about another 25. Ring the bell, climb over the posts to the top of the tower, and learn about Goldie. Little something for everyone!

This was our first day out in Cork , once the weather smiled on us in Feb 2023. The Anglican church sits in a quaint neighborhood which sits atop a hill. The setting is quite scenic and once you reach the top most vantage point the panoramic view that it offers of the city is really splendid. Cork city has very few such vantages that sort of gives an overall perspective of the city fabric and this visual should not be missed by any one touring the town. A small fee is charged for going up to the bell tower , but it also gives one the opportunity to pull on the bell ropes , its quite hard to play a tune if your not used to it but definitely a peek into the past of the church choir.

A lovely old church with beautiful stained glass. You can climb right to the top of the tower for fab views of Cork City and you can ring the bells too .. I played "Amazing Grace" on them. Well worth a visit.

It was awesome seeing and reading about the Bell tower. The view from the top is amazing, and getting to ring the bells is fun, especially with the tunes they have pinned up. The only real issue I had was that being around 6'4"/195cm the climb got very tight in places. Just be warned that if you are similarly tall that it might not be your thing as im not 100% sure i would have done it if id known. Overall though the experience was amazing and well worth the €5 cost.

To the top. Most incredible building in Cork. You walk up and beautiful view of Cork will open for you. Most exiting - you can ring a bell 🥳 any age will enjoy. If you can't use stairs -there is an outside area or small Church to enjoy.

Amazing experience, if you're big and tall be careful climbing to the top.
