Sadly the Castle was not open this time but they still wanted €18. just for me to walk around the gardens. I've been before and loved it. But I still had a great walk in the area and had a snack at the hotel. Still a great day as the weather was good.

Absolutely worth going to see Blarney Castle, especially to walk inside and see the wishing stone. It's a huge ground to cover with so many interesting things to see, from poison garden, lake, druid stone, witches kitchen, wishing steps to the legend it embraces. Beautifully designed architecture of the castle. Worth spending half a day there.

The gardens as a whole take a couple of hours to walk through and see all that it has to offer. They are very beautiful and range from ferns to Marsh and gree fields and forests. This is a great place to picnic or just wonder around.

This should be a bucketlist item if you go to Ireland! The blarney stone was maybe a 10min walk from the entrance, and another 10min to climb up the castle if you go right when they open. The steps up the castle are quite narrow and uneven, so if it's also slippery from rain please be careful!! I wasn't expecting the actual garden portion, which turned out to be just as fun! Very beautiful area to walk through, which you can easily spend at least 2hrs doing if you wanted. Lots of sites to take pictures. All in all, very reasonable price for what they offer. I recommend getting to the entrance at 9am when they open if you can, that way you beat all the other tourists inside. I was able to cover the entire castle and gardens comfortably in 1.5-2hrs since I could climb the castle and finish the blarney stone right away in like 15-20min (otherwise it can be >1hr waiting in line if you come later in the morning).

Great experience in the castle and the gardens. Take enough time to really explore the gardens. Mid afternoon or just after opening is a great times to visit. Not crowded then. Take several hours to really explore the gardens. Limited food selection at the castle. Good food across the street at Blarney Woolen Mills.

Extremely disappointing. The family ticket is €50 and wouldn't even cover all our kids. We only had an hour, so we decided not to spend this. Unfortunately there is no cheaper option (e.g. a 2h entry, or gardens only) plus this is not a kids destination and for them it's super overpriced. They still made us pay €2 for the 5 minutes parking. That's one item off my bucket list...

Castle was great. However you can only shop at the gift shop on the day you purchase entry to the castle. I went back the next day and they said I had to have a ticket for the same day. I said "I want to spend money here and you won't let me?" The answer was "no". There were 3 employees and no one else wanting to buy anything as it was 930 in the morning. Whoever owns this place should make it so that items can be purchased even without entry. The place accross the street was much friendlier.

If there's one thing I can say about my visit to Blarney Castle and the legendary Blarney Stone, it's that I left with a mouthful of laughter and a newfound appreciation for the "Gift of Gab"! This enchanting Irish destination truly lives up to its reputation as the place where words come to life and tall tales are spun. Upon arriving at Blarney Castle, I couldn't help but feel a tingling sensation in my vocal cords. Was it the whisper of ancient voices or just my excitement? Either way, I knew I was in for a treat. As I ascended the narrow staircase to reach the pinnacle of eloquence, I couldn't resist cracking a few jokes about the lengths people would go to become chatterboxes. And there it was, shining like a gem in the sun—the Blarney Stone! Now, I have to admit, the whole process of kissing a stone might sound a little strange to the uninitiated. But trust me, once you've puckered up and pressed your lips against that weathered rock, you'll understand why the Irish hold this tradition so dear. They say the stone imparts the "Gift of Gab" to those who dare to smooch it. I couldn't help but wonder if the stone had a hidden agenda to turn us all into stand-up comedians! As I leaned back, suspended in mid-air, to plant my kiss on the stone, a sudden surge of wit and humor coursed through me. I found myself reciting limericks, cracking puns, and making jokes that would have even made Shakespeare chuckle. It was as if the stone had unleashed a comedic superpower within me. Walking through the enchanting gardens and exploring the castle's nooks and crannies, I encountered fellow visitors who were undoubtedly under the stone's spell. It was like being in a comedy club without a cover charge. The laughter filled the air, creating an atmosphere of mirth and good cheer. The Blarney Castle experience is more than just a quirky tourist attraction—it's a celebration of the art of conversation and the power of a well-timed jest. The picturesque surroundings, rich history, and the infectious spirit of laughter make it an unforgettable destination for those seeking a unique and hilarious adventure. So, if you're ready to unlock your inner wordsmith and have a barrel of laughs, head to Blarney Castle and plant a smooch on the Blarney Stone. Just remember, the "Gift of Gab" comes with great responsibility—the responsibility to keep your friends and family entertained with endless puns and jokes for years to come! Disclaimer: Side effects may include uncontrollable laughter, spontaneous comedic outbursts, and an insatiable urge to become a stand-up comedian.

This is one of Irelands most famous sites. I came here on a guided tour and it was definitely worth the trip. I would highly recommend a visit and the one in a life experience to kiss the Blarney Stone. Cork, Ireland. Though earlier fortifications were built on the same spot, the current keep was built by the MacCarthy of Muskerry dynasty, a cadet branch of the Kings of Desmond, and dates from 1446. It is most famous for being the home of the Blarney Stone, which according to folklore, bestows the gift of the flattery and eloquence (gift of gab) on those who kiss the stone. During summer months though the line up are long seeing from the signs they have around staying the wait times. I would always suggest going first thing in the morning. Also don’t miss out on walking around the gardens, there are so many beautiful little gems around.

Castle surrounded by wonderful gardens. Blarney Castle was as advertised. The walk up to the stone was interesting as well as educational. Kissing the stone is something you have to do otherwise you've wasted your time. Surrounding gardens had hidden sculptures, hidden entrances, caves and at least 1 poison garden?

Very picturesque grounds with lots of scenic places to walk. The castle itself offers impressive views after a steep walk to the top. We went in December, which meant there were no queues and barely anyone else there.

Such a stunning location for walks/picnic. Best value for money is a pass if you're a semi frequent visitor. We live locally and love going there.

Gardens are making value of this place - external view of 🏰 gardens and house of Blarney makes this place worth taking time and walking all over. Blarney Stone crowded with people - place of “kiss” quite dangerous and uncomfortable. But still a lot of people believe in it. Me I passed it.

Had a lovely walk around the gardens, spent 3 hours there. Stopped in cafe on way out for a cup of tea and apple sponge cake. Very clean, efficient and friendly staff.

An absolutely fab day out, the castle is awesome and the gardens are absolutely stunning. Make sure you find the witches cave and kitchen and don’t forget to kiss the Blarney Stone if you can manage the height and steps 😳

Kiss the Blarney Stone...a must do while visiting Blarney Castle. While the stone is essential the castle gardens are equally stunning and with lots of art installations and smaller displays it s lovely stroll around the area. The scenery and photo opportunities are also worth stopping to enjoy.
