Church is beautiful. They do many events and sacraments like most churches and the priest led the service to the best of his ability considering there were 3 families there for the same sacrament.

Newish cathedral, quite modern looking but very traditional. Some very attractive stained glass windows. Very quiet place. No guide books or info bosrds but guide notes on posters if you use the right entrances. Adjacent visitors centre with limited opening times not visited.

At one end of Cork you have St Fin Barre's Cathedral and at the other end and in total contrast you have Cathedral of St Mary. Although both large, St Mary's is Catholic church, modernised with modern stain glass windows. The current church was rebuilt following a fire in 1996, I think, however Church on tthis site dates back to 1731. Many original parts and pieces still exist but need finding. To the far side and tucked away a little are some oils in large ornate bottles but, also is a relic of Thaddeus McCarthy. The old font is also still there.

This is a very historic building, still used as a church with a very famous set of bells, which can ring out various tunes. Tourists love this place.

This is a very under advertised cathedral. It is calm, bright, serene and beautiful. A modern cathedral with an openness rare in such sanctified surroundings.

I was here for the second time when, after the first visit, I studied a little of the history of this building. It's really impressive.

I made my 1st. Communion and Confirmation in the North Chapel as we always called it. There was a magnificent altar there and for some reason they took it away and put it in a corner. It was replaced , to me by a trellis. It should be put back. I complained about it and was told they are afraid to move it incase it breaks. They weren't afraid of it breaking when they moved it !!! Other than that it's a beautiful Cathedral.
