At night time we were listening to music from a phone and having a laugh and the owner came and told us music had to be off at 10 even though the night before someone was listening to music in the room down the hall on a speaker at past midnight. You are given a 'free light breakfast' however on arrival the breakfast consisted of toast and jam or marmalade. The ovens were covered in dirt and grease and the cups were left with water in the bottom even though they were in the cupboards. Finally the toilets were dirty and both flushes were broken so some people left their poop and other bodily fluids in the toilet for other guests to stumble upon. Overall this was by far the worse place we stayed in during our trip around Ireland and it wasn't even the cheapest. A warning to everyone who wishes to stay in cork run as far from here as possible.

The new staff are to be commended for their desire for the hostle to be as comfortable as possible for the Ukrainian refugees that they are hosting.

I stayed there two nights. Everything was clean and the hostel is very close to the city center. But what I didn't like is that you aren't allowed to use the kitchen until 10:30 am and the breakfast provided is very poor. Just toast and packed butter, packed jam. Lots of waste, why not use jam jars and regular butter... Also you can not control the temperature of the shower, it's very very hot and I've heated from people living here, in winter it's very very cold. Another contra is, that kitchen and sitting room are sperated which makes it hard to socialize. Very basic but clean hostel. Has a very college dorm feel to the rooms. Stayed in a private room with bunks and there was actually quite a bit of space and storage for belongings but no safe. Our room also had its own sink which was nice for brushing teeth and washing up. Main complaint is the amount of noise at nighttime...at least while I was here every night there were people on the street just outside the windows partying, and then they would eventually make their way inside to the hallway. Not sure if this is always the case but did make it difficult to sleep at night.

Excellent and quiet location, not far from main shopping area, and most importantly light on the pocket! Breakfast was minimalistic, but serves vegans as bread and jam are available.

Our room was comfy, but nothing special. There's is a free breakfast that consists of coffee, tea, and toast with jam or butter. The staff was very friendly and happy to help with suggestions for pubs nearby and things to see. I would absolutely stay here again.
