We had a very nice stay at this B&B. It is located adjacent to the river in a very quiet road just a short walk from down. The owner was incredibly welcoming and helpful, full of suggestions and advice on how to spend our days. Our room was in their second house just a few meters down the road, with private parking. It was a nice room with a wonderful king size bed - nothing to fault here. Breakfast was very good too. While waiting for our order we were given fresh scones to have with our coffee which was a very nice touch. Clearly the owners love what they are doing here and they are good at it too. This is definitely a place I look forward to returning to!

A very comfortable B&B right next to the University of Cork campus. Tony was a gem, he made us feel completely at home. Helping us navigate through the city, suggesting places to see and arranging a great vegetarian breakfast, he went way above and beyond. To top it all, his wonderful friendly banter and Irish wit. Definitely would visit again ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€

Tony and Avril, wow words canโ€™t describe how amazing they are. We stayed all over Ireland, but they are by far the kindest and sweetest people we have encountered. Beds were comfortable and the location was perfect to be able to walk into downtown Cork. We would come back to Cork just to see Toni and Avril again. Breakfast was also very delicious and Avril makes the best scones. Thank you so much for letting us stay!

We had a wonderful stay at the Fernroyd House B&B. Tony and Avril were so very accommodating and made us feel like we were right at home. The scones, full Irish breakfast and porridge were some of the best breakfasts we had during our visit to Ireland. Our room at the B&B was very comfortable and clean. The location to downtown Cork canโ€™t be beat. We would love to stay again!

Well. Where do I start. The best B&B I have stayed in to date. More like a mini hotel than B&B. The standards here are unique. From the host/ hostess greeting you at the door with a warm welcome. Ensuring you are parked okay. Offering you a welcome drink and walking you to the immaculately kept rooms. The breakfast is fabulous and so so fresh. Location is perfect. 10 min walk from the centre. 1 minute from a lovely walkway over in mardyke. I cannot fault this place and thank you both again for such a warm welcome and stay.

My stay at Fernroyd House really made my brief visit to Cork. Avril and Tony were the most excellent and welcoming hosts, who could not do enough for you it really was home from home. I shall hopefully visit again in the New Year and recommend this accomodation whole heartedly it is so clean and comfortable, situated in a very peaceful location next to the University. Excellent.

Avril and Tony were by far the most kind and generous hosts we've ever stayed with. I was moving my daughter to the University of Cork College (UCC) for a year of study abroad, and they were so helpful to us in every way. The go above and beyond to ensure your stay is comfortable and are truly caring individuals! Our room was very comfortable with everything we needed. The bathroom was also very clean, and the water pressure in the shower was amazing! Their breakfast was always wonderful and they had a good selection of different options. The location was perfect for us. We were right next to UCC, a 15 minute walk from the city center, a 15 minute walk to my daughter's new apartment, and very near to Fitzgerald's Park. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to visit Cork.

We stayed at Fernroyd for one night.. wish we could have stayed for more! The rooms were very comfortable and the location was excellent. Tony and Avril are the best hosts! Very friendly and easy to talk to with good recommendations of places to check out in Cork. Breakfast in the morning was delicious - the scones really are fabulous. Can't recommend enough. If we're ever back in Cork, we will definetly stay here again!

We spent 2 nights in Avril and Tony's B&B. Nice bedroom, very cosy, bed of very good quality. The breakfast is excellent, everything homemade, the welcome is very warm and the location is good, in front of the university park and a 10 minutes walk from the city centre. Thanks a lot Avril and Tony. Caroline and Luis

Avril and Tony are truly the warmest and most helpful hosts! We stayed for 3 nights in their lovely B&B and they had great recommendations for the area. They cook a delicious breakfast with many options to choose from each day. They were understanding when we took ill and made accommodations to make sure we still had everything we needed. Highly recommend!!

We stayed at Fernroyd House for two nights while in Cork, Ireland. We are about 1.5 weeks into our Ireland trip, and at the time of writing this, staying with Tony and Avril has been our favorite lodging by far. Amazing location. Right next to Cork University College. A block away from a waterway. Minutes walking distance from downtown. Beautiful rooms. Lots of extra perks (e.g., ear plugs on the night tables). Lovely breakfasts too. Best of all were Tony and Avril. Exquisite hosts. Friendly, genuine, welcoming, sociable (but respectful of your space), keen to provide suggestions re: things to do. Tony even offered to help park our car from the narrow streets to the lot area. I'd have loved to talk to them more, but we wanted to be respectful of their active lives. They were so fun and grounded. We would come back to say again in a heartbeat. Highly recommend to book should you stay in Cork.

Brilliant from start to finish. Arrived early by an hour and parked at address, was met by wonderful hosts. Room was amazing and spacious. Wonderful shower. Amazing location short walk to town yet very quite and peaceful area. Breakfast and service was top class. Both hosts are a credit to the establishment. Will definitely be staying again.

We arrived here for the first two nights of our 7-day trip. Upon our arrival, we instantly felt at home. Tony and Avril run a truly amazing B&B and are charming hosts. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was delicious both mornings, and Avril makes the best scones (we tried many other scones during our trip and none compared to hers). The rooms were nice, the beds were comfy, and the shower was very nice. Tony and Avril both offered exceptional recommendations on things to do and helped us with ensuring we had a great experience in Ireland. Absolutely book this place if it is available, you wonโ€™t be disappointed.

We are return customers and plan on visiting Fernroyd every chance we get. If you have the opportunity to stay at Fernroyd, please do so. Everything is perfect - always - from the booking to the rooms, from the breakfast to the evening conversations. When my wife and I think of Ireland, we immediately miss the friends we've made at Fernroyd. Avril and Tony are some of our favorite people - ever! The beautiful building is excellently situated in an extremely safe and picturesque location, with the River Lee a block downhill, the immaculate University College Campus on the corner, and easy access to restaurants, pubs and a corner store. You take the high road or take the low road (Bandon or Washington, respectively) right into Cork City - a pleasant stroll on either route. Highly recommended.

A lovely B&B right beside UCC. Itโ€™s a short walk to the city centre. Avril and Tony were the perfect hosts. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. Breakfast was also great. Would highly recommend!

Avril and Tony are excellent hosts who communicate quickly and easily. They were there to give us a warm welcome, and help settle in. The breakfast in the mornings are excellent, and perfect to get you started for your day. Tony has great suggestions for restaurants, pubs and places to visit in cork or nearby. He and Avril gave great suggestions for kinsale, along with a visit to Old head cliffs. When we were leaving, Tony even gave us suggestions for our drive to our next destination and a great restaurant suggestion in kenmare. We will definitely stay at Fernroyd house the next time we are in the area!

The owners are absolute gems. Attentive, friendly, and as welcoming as they come. Wonderful room overlooking a beautiful garden, comfortable beds, and well thought out amenities. Delicious breakfast in the morning. I can't imagine staying anywhere else in Cork.
