I loved it!! The artefacts recovered from Lusitania herself were EASILY the best part of the whole trip, actually being able to touch a peice of the ship herself is just an experience I'll never ever forget. The actual Museum itself is really well made! The artefacts and story are compelling and very well presented. The only two issues I have are 1. The lack of things to buy, there is a handful of things but nothing that really hooks you. Maybe a small model of the Lusitania or a sweater with the ship or Cunard on it would spice things up. 2. The model of the "Lusitania" presented in the Museum (See image below) is actually of the Aquitania, her sister ship with her name painted over. While it isn't too big of a deal for me personally it dampened the experience a little. But I'm sure the model of her in the reception could be used as a replacement. Wonderful place and well worth the visit!

Fascinating place out on the Old Head. The tower and museum are most interesting. Then there is the lovely Lusitania Memorial garden to walk around. Most people don't realize that one of the ship's lifeboat davits which is standing in the grounds has been alignned to point to the ship's last resting place 11.34 nautical miles out from the end of the Old Head. There is an excellent cafe there too and toilet facilities. I can also recommend The Speckled Door pub and restaurant on the way out!

Picturesque drive out from Kinsale to here. Unfortunately the lighthouse is on the golf course and access to the general public is not permitted. We got an ice cream and iced coffee from the cafe onsite which were delicious. Toilets available as well which are in OK condition. You can visit the Signal Tower, but you have to pay. Woman in the ticket booth was unfriendly and rude when queried about the price for entry to the tower, so we decided not to purchase tickets. There is a marvellous Lusitania remembrance art piece installed at the site which we thought was very clever and original.

Lovely garden commemorating the lives lost on the ill fated ship, all passengers and crew names listed on a nice piece of art that circles the garden. Interesting news articles in the museum which is contained in the renovated watchtower which has a history of its own. Little coffee shop here also, not open at time of visit. Worth a visit, views outstanding and interesting stories.

Great little museum and memorial. Very helpful and friendly staff. Where would we be without the local community keeping our history alive for future generations

Wonderful place to visit never new much about the Lusitania sinking but must have been very frightening when you think from the first torpedo it took only 18 minutes to sink what a waste of life. But wonderful to go around thel gardens a the watch tower and see all the history about it and the lovely views around.☺️

Nice monument outside and parking around for visiting the Old Head but the entry fee for the museum seemed a little high for such a small space. It was interesting to see the watchtower from the outside and look over the monument to the victims but didn’t have time to head inside. Cafe has good recommendations though.

One of Ireland's most spectacular coastal areas. This 200-year-old signal tower houses a museum dedicated to the RMS Lusitania, which was torpedoed by a German U-boat in 1915 with the loss of 1200 lives. You can walk to the nearby clifftops for impressive views south towards the Old Head, the nearest point of land to the disaster Experience expansive coastal views from the top of the historic Signal Tower viewing point. Stop at the Memorial Garden, telling the story of the Lusitania's fatal journey from New York to its final moments. Enjoy some tasty refreshments and a tea or coffee at the Signal Tower Cafe. The cafe also provide bathrooms.

We visited here two weeks ago, what a fantastic site. We didn’t know about the signal tower and memorial garden - we were taking the scenic route to Wexford after a few days in West Cork when we came across it. The lady who sold us the tickets gave us a brief history of the Lusitania, it’s sinking and the aftermath. She was so passionate about it all, she really knew here stuff - it was so great to find a tour guide who loves what they are doing and so interested in the subject . It really is amazing to see what this local group have achieved at the site and their future plans for it . The views from the top of the tower were stunning, and the rolling fog made it even more dramatic. We’d definitely come back for another visit in the future. Facilities wise there were good clean toilets available and and a cafe on site too.

A nice location on the cost with a beautiful wide view across the sea and the peninsula which is now privately owned by the golf club so unfortunately not accessible for non-members. The museum is small but very interesting set in an old restored defense tower over 3 floors. The roof level provides an even better view of the area. The museum also has a small gift shop.

So many aspects of Irish tourism really are outstanding, everything is considered, there is obvious care behind a lot of these projects. The Lusitania Museum is an excellent example of such. It's so thoughtful and considered, yet so aesthetically pleasing, it's a very peaceful place and a great tribute to those that suffered and those that gave everything to prevent suffering. Excellent work by all those involved in the creation and running of this place, keep it up.

A small but very interesting museum about the sinking of the Lusitania in 1915. A very good resource run by local volunteers.

We visited here today. The lady taking the entrance fee was very friendly. The museum is very small but there is still quite a lot to see and the personal stories of survivors were very moving. The memorial garden is well laid out and includes the names of all who were lost. The café was closed because it is so late in the season. The museum is closing at the end of this week and will reopen in March next year. It is a very windy location, I recommend wrapping up well.

Old lighthouse is tiny and quite facilities. From the top is overlooking the best view to Atlantic ocean and golf courts.

The cafe and parking area are great. I think the old head loop walk could use some footpath. It's a little harrowing on the road the whole time.

We enjoyed this place very much. It was in the mist when we arrived. Nice parking area. By the time we had been around the little museum we came out to sunshine and amazing views! Memorial garden is well done.

This is a really interesting place to visit. It helped that the sun was shining and visibility excellent so we could enjoy the superb view from the top of the Tower. The content of the museum is first rate and well worth seeing. Staff very friendly and helpful.

I suggest paying for the museum (€40 for a family of 4) only if it's a sunny day, so you can get on top of the tower and enjoy the view.

Only a small attraction, but a good one! The memorial to the Luisitania passengers is stunning and the view on a clear day is fantastic. Best of all the most helpful, knowledgeable and friendly guide in the shop. Well worth a visit

Very nice museum with informative and poignant accounts of the tragedy. The garden, bronze memorial and views from the tower are excellent. Developed by the local community it is an outstanding example of how our history and heritage can be preserved . Sole lady staff member was very informative and helpful in advising on books available to buy in the shop.

Staff are friendly and it was very eductional for the children as well as adults, but it was very windy and would recommand holding on to small children by the hand and taking off hats as they tend to blow away 😁

I was not disappointed by visiting this fantastic place. I only learned about this place from Google Maps and it is full of the history of the locality and of the infamous sinking of the Lusitania, which was torpedoed only 12 feet from the Old Head of Kinsale. The gentleman in the visitors centre was very informative and I almost had the place to myself and really took it all in. Lovely memorial garden and information of the Signal Tower and of the Old Head of Kinsale. Would definitely recommend to visit here. Cost was only €5.

A lovely place to visit to get an insight to parts of Irish history that is not at the forefront of our minds. It is easy to get to and full of information into the people of that time but also other aspect of the political world. It is an easy to walk around and soak up the information at hand

👍👍 The Old Head of Kinsale is a magnificent place as it embodies the Wild Atlantic Way of Ireland. It's stunning cliffs reminds me of the Cliffs of Moher! It's a place of scenic beauty. It has a small museum.
