I just came home from Breast Reduction surgery here. I spent one day and one night in the South Infirmary and the staff could not have been nicer. Special thanks to Deirdre, Linda, Faustian & Mary and all the student nurses who were just absolutely brilliant. Surgery itself was so professional and went perfectly. They check up on you regularly, making sure you’re never hungry, never in pain and always hydrated. Couldn’t have had a better experience.

I would like to share my experience concerning the South Infirmary and the medical procedure conducted.From the minute I arrived Nurse Mary Walsh was there for me and could not have been more professional, dedicated and caring for me. She is an amazing nurse and when I came out of theatre she was waiting for me. She cared for me from beginning to end from 11.30 until 19.00. I am so grateful for her kindness and empathy. Also a very special thank you to Mr Noel O Brien who was involved in the surgical procedure..he called around to me following the surgery to reassure me.. finally the staff overall from beginning to end were fantastic.thank you for making a difficult day a memorable one for all the right reasons! This might be an old building but we are so lucky to have it . It’s spotless clean and the staff are fantastic. They are very caring and helpful. There are not that many car spaces so get a friend to drop you off if possible. There is a small coffee dock outside.

Had a knee replacement on 8th July by Dr Declan Reidy and I must say from the time I entered the hospital on the morning of my operation until I left the hospital four days later I could not speak highly enough about Dr Reidy and all his excellent staff. Each and everyone of them looked after me as if I was the only one in the hospital.A big thank you to everyone who looked after me

Waiting times were quite long but that's to be expected for any hospital I suppose. Doctors were very kind and actually listened to what I wanted to do, which is rare. Would recommend fully.

Not good at all. Based on unruling staff when I travelled a far to be there. Made a complaint to my doctor 18 months previous and was not allowed to speak it with my "doctor" until18 months after I waited. When i did get my chance the nurse who I complained to months before was hanging over my back in his office . I am diabetic and this has made me feel never go back to a clicky clinic run by staff nurses the way I see it.

I've gotten my tonsils and gallbladder removed there and both times they refused to let me take them home but the morphine was amazing.

My daughter 20yrs old was a patient in this hospital briefly. So well looked after. She had an amazing surgeon and the nursing staff were wonderful. The hospital immaculate. 5 stars.

consultants are very good compared to cuh. MRI and CT done fast. if in for operation care is great,. as is food. more like a totally private hospital tbh can be difficult to navigate unless you enter from parking area.

Doctor are experienced, my uncle operation was successful. Very helpful staff

What a pleasure from the moment I went through the door. Front reception staff of 2 when I askedwhere to go from here were helpful and gave me information that I required.l came to the department I needed and the 2 staff were both very efficient.Once booked in I was sent for xray and told where to go have my details in xray dept and had a wait of 5 to 10 minutes.Staff excellent job done.Back to clinic gave my details to nurse and was told to sit in waiting area.Chair hardly warm when I was called.Doctor took details and I was delt with a wait of about 2 miniutes and consultant came in gave me my dignoses and treatment.I will be called back up in 2 weeks for this treatment.Very happy with this result couldnt have been treated any better.In and out in 1 hour 10 min.Why can't other hospitals take a leaf out of the efficiency of this hospital ........

Recently spend a few hours in the SURGICAL DAY Unit. the whole process was just a breeze. the nurses/trainees were absolutely fantastic You’re all amazing. Thank you for looking after me :)

The dome from my hearing aid dislodged inside my ear. I attended the ENT Department here in The South Infirmary. From the moment I arrived - I was treated with the utmost courtesy. The receptionist was so understanding, efficient and kind. The Doctor was very friendly and put me at ease. He had me sorted with no delay and the nurse wished me well as I left. This is an efficient, friendly and effective hospital. Thank you to all the Staff.

I cannot speak highly enough of each and everyone of the staff I met in the South Infirmary Hospital. I was there for a procedure for an overnight stay that turned into a 6 night stay and every Nurse, surgeon, registrar, intern, healthcare assistants, domestic staff, porters & all staff I met during my staff were just outstanding in their field. I was on Level 2 Lady Victoria and whilst I did not want to be there the staff made it so much easier. I have never had such a positive experience in a hospital setting and it is to be commended. The staff are so friendly and seem happy in their job which shows, there seemed to be a lovely atmosphere on this floor and it was lovely to see while the staff remained very professional at all times they had a laugh and a joke while getting on with their work. A huge well done team!!!!

A nightmare. Was in a small waiting room with more than 50 people with no air conditioning and every type of germ floating in the air. Totally unacceptable.

Had my hip replaced there in July 2021,couldn't say a bad word about any of the staff including surgeon and his team, nurses, caterers, cleaners, very clean excellent food and staff so friendly.I would give this hospital a 5 star all day long.

Fantastic care from the moment I drove into the carpark. Was shown to a parking space. At main entrance met by a lovely guy who showed me where to go, reception staff very nice and was seen with in minutes of arrival even though I was quite early for appointment. Everyone was so nice.

My husband Dominick O Byrne was treated here during the height of the COVID19 outbreak. The first consultation admittedly was not a pleasant experience, the atmosphere was very grim the diagnosis was scarey, throat cancer inoperable but curable with treatment, but the amazing staff took great and tender care of him and we are very grateful to everyone of them. You do a great job and at a very scarey time you made the difference between dispare and hope thank you so much, high 5.

I had appointment in Xray/Ultrasound Department today with Jane she was extremely professional during the procedure but what makes her really stand out is her empathy and concern for my well being It is such a rare gift she is a real asset to the hospital Thank you Ina Cohen

I have had surgery here and must say the staff from the doctors and nurses and carers and porters.Get a gold from me as they are so caring and supportive, they will do all in their power to make there patients comfortable, which helps in their recovery. I wish to think everyone for their part in my recovery

I had a knee replacement in the south infermary almost 10 years ago surgeon Mr Rian gull great hospital best of care

Probably the best one to be sent to in the city and the only one that has decent clerical staff that can actually shedule appointments properly arrive 10mins before and u will be seen at ur appointment time unless theirs an emergency. not like cuh who couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery who give 30 people the same time slot.

I needed to have general anistetic for procedure with a camera and d@c done i can't express how professional and caring and kind every single one of the members of staff I met with were at SIVUH they made the whole experience enjoyable strangely enough as I was so scared and anxious as was first ever surgery all my panicking was for nothing though and to the anesthesiologist he was so nice and kept me calm and surgeon explained everything afterwards to me and after care was great too. 10 out of 5 stars if I could.

Spent a week after having eye surgery, ask staff extremely nice. Enjoyed my stay. Would say I would come again but hopefully not as it means I'd need more surgery.😁

Waiting over a year for an Orthopedic Assessment, I've been referred for Physiotherapy too and am still waiting. It's to late now I suffer unbearable pain daily, struggle to walk, I've lost my mind with the pain and and want it to end. I've considered traveling abroad to be euthanased. Seeing all the positive reviews of this place, what a joke.

The team in the ENT department are very good and have looked after me since I got my BAHA device.

Cant praise the Surgery team here enough. I had to have hip replacement at 55 ( my own fault ) and cannot convey the professionalism and empathy that I experienced here. From initial consultation thru surgery and aftercare these people just cannot do enough for you. 24hr assistance by friendly medical professionals that are paid half what they should be by an ungrateful system. SIVUH is a 5 star hospital.

What a fantastic, clean organised hospital, had to come from Limerick for CT scan, in and out in 9 mins if that was Limerick it’s be 9 hours. Spotless clean hospital.

Very nice and gentle staff. Took great care of me during my procedure at the endoscopy unit. I felt a bit scared as a foreigner in a hospital all by myself, but they made me feel like everything is going to be ok and were very caring. Another patient was getting a bit rowdy and tried leaving without an escort after his procedure, which is against the rules, but the tiny nurses turned from nice to stern in a second and put him in his place, haha.

Nice staff not the easy parking a great thanks for all the help that you get from staff doctors great work

It's a good few years ago since I was there. The staff on the ward and in theatre were brilliant very pleasant and caring. .my surgeon Mr Chris cotter whom I'd meet previous to my surgery was so nice and helpful. . The care was excellent. .5 stars from me.

I'm a regular for the last year getting eye injections. I'm deaply thankful to the staff - receptionists, porters, nurses, doctors -for making this experience bearable. The nurse in theatre said to me today: "Don't be scared, we'll mind you". And that's exactly how I felt. Minded, seen as a person, treated with empathy. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! Z

I called today with an extremely important query and not only was the guy on the phone unhelpful but also extremely rude about it, for someone working in a hospital and probably has to talk to a lot of emotional people, politeness should be expected.
