The hotel restaurant/bar is right under our room and the band played until 1am. We can live with that as we were made aware. However, the drunken were out by 1.30am screening in the street and some seems to be staying at the hotel and screem all night until 5 am. We notified the reception and nothing was really done. Very few hours of sleep and since a hotel should also be for sleeping, it kind of ruined it. Room was very clean and breakfast good as well. It was just not was we were expected. It might be for other people.

Location is perfect for a stay in Limerick. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. People complain about the noise but your warned before booking so not sure why they would complain afterwards. Great place to stay. Can't wait to return.

Just had a great weekend here with a few friends. Best hotel breakfast we have ever had! Perfect location in the middle of the city, great walking distance to the milk Market, king johns Castle and hunt museum. Stayed here a few years ago too and the place looks very swanky after a massive revamp. The pub below was very cool, ate dinner here both nights. Good for watching the match, great philly steak sandwich and choc brownie. Pints were lovely and my friends said the cocktails were top notch. Looking forward to coming back again soon. Good deals to be had here!!

IF YOU WANT TO SLEEP AVOID THIS HOTEL. When you book a hotel room you expect to be able to sleep. Unfortunately, for this hotel that isn't possible. The hotel owns a pub next door that plays live music till 1.30am - the music is so loud, you might as well be in the pub with the band. According to the opening hours this pub is supposed to shut at 11pm. 11pm came and went - music was still playing! I rang reception who said that the pub shut at Midnight, and that the advertised times on the website were wrong. Midnight came and went and if anything the noise got louder. It wasn't till gone 1.30am that the music stopped. Which you think would be a relief but then came the drunks screaming outside and people running up and down the hotel corridors. Having read other reviews I know the management will respond saying that they're a city centre venue, they warned me of the noise issue and that the pub doesn't play outside of hours. 1. I live and work in London, I am used to city noise. But this isn't city noise, this is a pub owned and adjoined to the hotel. You know people book rooms to sleep? 2. You warned me of the noise in a message AFTER I booked the hotel - they sent this "Also because of our central location there will be loud noise/music from pubs/nightclubs in the area". I expect it to be busy, loud etc but not to this obnoxious level. 3. The pub did play music outside of hours, and I have recordings to prove it. It's such a shame, as the rooms themselves are lovely and the location is really central.

Reasonably new hostel, clean and comfortable room (2nd floor without elevator). The only negative issue was the smell of the kitchen underneath, and music until 1am from a pub (on sunday). Breakfast was included, we had a vegetarian Irish breakfast and some croissants from the self service.

Stayed here recently for a friend's Hen Weekend. Perfect central location, good room allocations for our group, and lovely staff. They were able to facilitate a later check out. Breakfast was delicious with good choices.

The band plays until 1:00 AM and you can't hear anything but their music!! They could not move us to another room, so we had to check put at 11PM and move to another hotel. The Old Quarter Townhouse did not offer a refund. Completely unexceptable. Would never recommend this hotel, unless you enjoy listening to loud music until 1AM. If so, please book.

If you want to sleep, find another place… The doors where banging the whole night. Other things: - Bad water pressure - Room very small - Breakfast not the best. There’re definitely better places to have breakfast for this price. + The staff was friendly + The bed was comfortable + The room was clean

Stayed here for 2 nights as part of a rugby tour for our U16's team. Staff could not be more accommodating. Superb welcome, great breakfast would call again.

Stayed here on a weekday for work. Handy as it was very central, but right next to a bar so very noisy at night. Staff were very nice. Breakfast doesn't start until 8am.

The food is delicious (great mussels!), service is very friendly and prompt. This picture does not do justice to the amazing cheesesteak sandwich I had.

Very clean and modern, fine for me on a thursday night in march,i imagine it would be very noisy if busier. My room directly over the pub. I Could hear people talking and flag flapping against my window all night. very central

First of all this is not really a hotel, it's actually a hostel with bathrooms ensuite - and tiny ones at that. The rooms at the front are blasted with live music until after 1am from the bar below and the rooms at the back are blasted with the vomit-inducing smell of fried food from the vents below. The carpets are grotty there's no car park and the manger is straight out of The Academy of I Hate My Job. I can't rate the breakfast as I didn't stick around to find out - no doubt I missed a treat!

Nice rooms, cool bar with a great atmosphere and amazing live music. They warn about the music, don't book if this is an issue...we loved it!

Clean and comfortable with lots of tea making facilities. The shower was great, pillows were good. TV reception wasn't great though.

Just too loud to say this is a positive hotel experience! Unless you’re drinking until the early hours it isn’t worth booking for the location. Staff etc all nice but if you’re looking for a decent sleep avoid

Perfect location, lovely clean, comfortable rooms nicely decorated . The bar has a lovely atmosphere, great menu and drinks of every kind. Breakfast in the mornings was very busy but Chloe, a very smiley, hard working young waitress brought a little sunshine to the start of each day.

-Not customer-oriented hotel manager. I have requested a check-in time for 3:00-4:00 in the morning due to late arrival time, I also messaged the hotel to confirm that this time is available for check-in, as usual check-in time is from 14:00. The date and time was clearly mentioned on request as well as confirmation from the staff was given that they have no problem with check-in time change request. However, when I have arrived they declined my check-in as hotel was fully booked out and I appeared in unknown city on the street in cold November night. The receptionist refused to call different hotel to help me to find a place for one night. In few days when I came to speak with a manager explaining my situation, the response was shocking. He explained me that this confusion happened because stuff mixed up the dates and said he cannot do anything for me in this situation. He was not listening that I have written confirmation and declined any conpensation. I have never met such ignorant management response during my stays across EU countries that don't care about hotel's reputation and problems caused by hotel's stuff, and I am very dissapointed about my stay. -Noisy area. Yes, they do send you a message about noise from the street and pub, but only after you confirm your booking. Be prepared to not sleep before 23:59. -Poor choice for breakfast.

Terrible experience. Had to step over drunk person on the ground at reception when entering the hotel and hotel alarm going off multiple times throughout the night. Would have slept better in the car.

Cozy accomodation in the middle of limerick. Polite staff and clean rooms. A light bulb il the bathroom did not work properly. The only real problem was the price. Too high, but I guess it's an Irish feature.

We stayed in the family room (5 adults), very spacious and clean with a good bathroom and comfortable beds. Breakfast was great, both hot and cold options. We didn't stay over a weekend so can't comment on noise from the adjacent bar which was mentioned in other reviews. Location is great would def stay again.

We had a fabulous 2 nights stay midweek. Hotel is quiet, clean and comfortable. Ideally situated in the centre of Limerick city. Biggest breakfast we've ever eaten. Highly recommend. Will be returning soon

Rooms are clean and spacious. However, if you want to have a good night of sleep, pick a different area. There is a club/restaurant right below the hotel that plays loud music until late at night. I spend a lot of time in hotel rooms and this has been one of the worst location.

Best part is it’s newer or updated and clean. The issues are because of “lack of” categories. Noise is a major issue for sure, windows open or closed. Noise from every room doors slamming shuts , drunks yelling in the street until midnight, or garbage crews at 6am. Sleep should not be your top priority here. The garbage alley is where u haul your luggage from the car park so that’s less than ideal. The bathrooms aren’t small but have no shelf for anything. Not even in the shower to hold soap or shampoo. The bath towels are stored on the beds because of lack of shelving. Beds are comfortable though and the TV is adequate if your lucky enough to get programming other than radio like others. And pass on the very limited breakfast for 18 euros. There are much nicer places within a 5 min walk for less money. If you have trouble with stairs, then you need to pass since the lift is broken and all rooms are not on ground level. The staff is very friendly and WiFi is really good. Without a lot of noise reduction, this hotel can never get above 4 stars. Adding door slam dampeners and bathroom shelves would do bring my review to 3 stars. The cleanliness, beds, staff, and WiFi are what saved this from a 1 star. Oh, and the cleaning staff were very nice as well. They are probably what keeps this place going.

Had a great time at the Old Quarter Townhouse. Staff friendly and very helpful. Special mention for Lee behind the bar. A gentleman. Food was amazing and room was so comfortable. Would definitely recommend the Townhouse. Will definitely be back.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was huge and clean and smelled great. Bathroom was great too. We received TWO emails in advance, one at the time of booking and another a few days before our stay reminding us that the neighbourhood has a LOUD nightlife and specifically that there was a pub with live and loud music. I felt the hotel made it very clear that we weren't going to be having a quiet evening and we chose to stay anyway. I'm so glad we did. We just fell asleep with the TV on which helped drown out the outside birthday girl squealing and everything was quieted by shortly after 1am. If you have a little bit of patience and want to stay in a great place in a great town, I'd recommend this hotel for sure.

I was pleased. Very polite staff. Accommodating when you need something. Very clean and cozy/affordable. Close to many attractions like King Johns Castle, St Mary’s Cathedral and live music/food. What more could you ask for. 🤷🏿‍♀️

Save your self a head ache and don't stay here. The manager, Roger, is rude and unprofessional, truly an unpleasant man to talk with. The room we were given was not what we had reserved, but when we brought this to his attention he was not helpful even in the slightest. The location is very loud, the hotel is dated, and homeless people seem to loiter near the entrance of the hotel. In general, the staff seemed to have no idea what was going on. Perhaps a change in management could fix many of these problems, but for me, I don't plan to stay here ever again.

Stayed here in June when hotels were first allowed to re-open. Shauna on Reception was friendly and helpful and went the extra mile to ensure we had a great stay. The room was modern, comfortable and clean. Location of hotel is great. We got a deal on Pigsback that included dinner and drinks in the Pub attached. The food and cocktails were excellent, much better than we expected for "pub food". No complaints!

Why book a place to sleep when you don't get any sleep? Was not warned on arrival or when booking that live music would be playing till 1 am. It wasn't even inside the pub, it was outside on the patio with our room directly above. Literally sounded like the drum pedal was hitting our walls and shaking our room. Our "double bed" was actually two single mattresses in a bed frame so did not make for a comfortable sleep. Only good thing about the hotel was that it was walking distance to everything and the girls at the front desk were lovely. This one's for the owner: This is a disgrace to the hospitality industry. The fact that you charge the amount you do, and you can't play music earlier or even move it inside the pub shows your lack of care for not only your paying customers but also your staff who deal with these issues every weekend. You have people who travel near and far to come stay at your hotel and you don't care if they get rest between their travels. If you're not going to give a refund, do yourself a favour and stay in a room next weekend and see how much sleep you get. I see you have music Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Not expecting a professional reply as we have read previous comments to other guests in the past.
