Nice beach for a walk, amazing scenery and a lovely atmosphere! I was surprised with the water colour, very beautiful. The tide was very low at the moment, but it comes up very quickly (in about minutes). We had a nice coffee at Angela's Shop, super nice and friendly staff. I just loved it! πŸ₯°

The beach is located near to last bus stop of fountaintown. Its easier to get to this destination by hopping on to 220 bus from city center. The beach has a exquisite view on rocks and landscape. Overall a definitely recommended on a bright sunny day.

It's a lovely blue rocky beach located very conveniently near the last bus stop of fountainstown. You can hop on to a 220 bus from city center & be dropped of near the car park in front of the beach β›±οΈπŸ™‚A good place for a family with kids. There are toilets, a place to clean up under an open water tap/shower, benches to relax & enjoy the view, Angela's Shop & Coffee Dock. Only one suggestion you could wear water shoes or aqua socks if you are not used to rocky beaches...overall a lovely beach to enjoyπŸ™‚

Lovely spot for walks but not the best beach. Lots of stones, not much sand and that sand is grainey. The beach itself is small but there is another one further up the little road on the right as you are facing the beach. There is also little walkways down to the water along that road and there seemed to be plenty of people using them in the water. The water appears to be shallow as there was quite a few people wading quite far out. There are plenty of nice walks all over the area but for me not a place I'd go for a swim. Probably the closest beach to Cork City.

It's a pebble/sand beach. There are lifeguards here in the summer. It is a very shallow beach, as an adult you have to walk out a long way before it is deep enough for swimming. It is a good beach for children. At the weekend there are food trucks at the beach. There are picnic benches, carpark and toilet close to the beach. This beach also has a shower. You can walk to Myrtlevile from Fountains Town.

I like this beach, it is the closest and most convenient beach to Cork city center, I took a lot of beautiful pictures here, there are many adults and children swimming, some people are gliding windsurfing in the distance, when the sea on the right ebbs, there are Many people walk past the beach. On the left there is a clear creek flowing through many stones to the sea.

On the doorstep of the City and served by the 220 bus this beach has a lot to offer. A nice coffee shop, a large car park and toilets add to the place. Lots of rocks to explore and it's a big beach when the tide is out. We watched the sunrise here on the winter solstice 2017.

A wild beach close to Crosshaven town where you can appreciate a nice small harbour and real Irish lifestyle. No complexity just peace and nature around your self! Absolutely to visit for a walking or a swimming if you're Brave heart!

Great place to swim when tide is out. It's very safe for the children. There is a car park, but can get very busy, when weather is good. There is a shop that sales drinks and cakes, plus sweets and Ice cream. The day that we were there, three vans, Saling food and drinks.

Great location. Very friendly locals. The main beach is a pebble beach but you can walk down to either side of the main beach and go swimming off the rocks. Free public car park. Free public toilets. Multiple activities to avail of such as canoeing etc. Mobile food stalls along with a coffee shop. The 220X bus from the city isn't 100% reliable during rush hour etc leave yourself twenty minutes either side of catching it to and from Fountainstown and you'll be okay. If any locals are reading this...please stop dumping your grass clippings and garden trimmings into the sea. I've seen you do it. Please stop. Update: From September 1st most activities seem to cease. No food stalls, no coffee shop, no kayaking. It's still a wonderful place to visit but bring your thermos and snacks. Keep an eye on the weather, especially the wind speed.

Nice beach. Nice walk along the cliffs. There’s usually a coffee truck on weekends & the local shop also serves tea & coffee.

I created within a year so many memories to this beach, take the 220X bus, and just go there, the the small way on your left behind the public shower, when the tide is down cross the sea on the other side, when it s week end try the sauna, there are toilets and a cafΓ© selling food, hot drinks and ice creams, you can do canoe, you can fish and you can listen the French 80s songs from the truck with Britanny flag while waiting he cooks your crepe. This place is a real piece of wild at the tip of your toe if you don't drive. You can also do the walk to join Myrtleville. If you like quietness like me, I recommande you to avoid sunny weekends during summer hollidays it s busier. They have a small market once a week as well but I forgot which day.
