Popular with all age groups for Swimming, Kayaking or simply watching the sail boats pass by. Great rocks nearby to climb & explore and James Fort a short walk away

A lovely sandy Beach. Access to the castle and old fortified buildings is up to the left as you approach the beach.

Very popular area, nice beach, king James fort is small but still worth seeing. The Dock bar has great atmosphere and good food. My favourite of dock beach is going for a swim after midnight and watching the phosphor light up in the water, swimming in the milky way🐳

Lovely little beach! Small but the sand is so smooth and soft! Picturesque with a stunning view of Charles Fort. Parking is a nightmare on a Sunday. If you want to visit beware of traffic to kinsale and back out of it.

The Dock Beach Cork is a well-sheltered beach located near the small town Kinsale. The beach is relatively small but offers a great local amenity. As you enter the beach there's a lovely walk up to Jamesfort. And from the beach you can clearly see the sister fort Charlesfort. The water is safe for swimming and is always relatively calm with no big waves or currents. You can see little shoals of fish if you have a snorkel and there are rock pools to explore for other marine life like crabs. Parking can be awkward and the beach itself can get a bit too crowded on very warm days. It's popular with families so it's not uncommon to be pitched beside a crying baby on a busy day. There are usually coffee trailers close by and there's so a surf/kayaking school at the beach. There is also the Dock Bar close to the beach if you feel like grabbing a drink.

Lovely little sandy beach just outside Kinsale. Great view of the surrounding harbour and in the summer months a place where you can take a tour to go sea kayaking.

Clean calm beach. Great place for a swim. There's a small pontoon about 150 metres from the beach. Nice community of active swimmers in the morning and evening. Stand Up Paddle boarding (SUP) and other water activities available to rent. Next to beautiful walks in James fort. Dog friendly too.

Spectacularly clear water and white sand beach. Incredibly clean and with a beautiful and dramatic coastline of jagged but climbable rocks and forests. Bonus was the gorgeous view of the fort across the bay. Good advice to park along the road leading to the beach rather than the packed car parks and walk down.

Lovely beach but it is only small. On a gorgeous day on the weekend in the summer holidays, it is jam packed but there is still enough room to have a splash in the sea. If you are planning a visit, bring food as the local bar doesn't do food, there are a couple of food vans but the section isn't great, toasties from one van and Thai food from another, and they can run out.

Lovely little beach, is shallow for a good distance, floating pontoon for children and adults in the deeper water. Access is not great on a very busy day, parking is a premium with one way system in operation and road surface needs serious attention. Ice cream, sandwich , coffee and Thai street food vans nearby with a pub and public toilets as well.

It's a lovely tiny beach, really pretty and clean. I recommend going as soon as possible and getting a nice spot to stay, as it can get crowded.

First thing in the morning when there’s no one around it would get 5 stars .. very small beach so gets packed easily and very little parking space ( for the amount of people) That saying it’s a lovely beach ( nice and clean ) and a great place to swim .. And what a setting

Little (not so hidden) gem of a beach. Safe for young families, no currents or large waves. Parking can be a problem in summer so be prepared to walk a bit or arrive before 11. In summer, can hire kayaks or sup boards in field next to beach, often a coffee van and ice cream on road. But, beware, no WC facilities! (Unless you but something in Dock Pub)

This is a lovely small beach in Kinsale. We were there mid afternoon and there was no one else on the beach. It is obviously a good beach for dog walking, we saw people arriving with dogs as we were leaving, also saw many paw prints on the beach. We heard a lot of birdsong from the surrounding vegetation. There is a small car park and a narrow path to the beach from the car park.
