I'm not sure why this hotel has 4 star status, they need to give one back. I've stayed in better 3 star hotels. On the outset the hotel does look nice. Pretty lobby, but beyond that everything else is quite mediocre. The corridors had an unpleasant musty odour and cod to with better maintenance. I stayed in a deluxe double room and I was quite underwhelmed. There was absolutely nothing deluxe about it. The room was quite dusty, I literally saw dust hanging from the ceiling! The bathroom was very very basic, not what I'd expect from a 4 star hotel. A fabric shower curtain (I don't even want to think about how often it's replaced or washed), on a rusty shower curtain rail. The TV was ancient, no smart TV options. Again this is disappointing for a 4 star hotel in 2022. There walls are also not soundproof, I could hear conversations from the room next to me The food wasn't any better. I tried to order room service on my evening of arrival, first of all I even wasn't able to order over the phone or through their online portal as it wasn't working. I was told by reception to come down to the restaurant and place the order in person, kind of defeats the purpose of ROOM service doesn't it? I was even more disappointed when I received the food as it was just the most bland thing ever. I ordered buffalo wings and a buttermilk chicken burger with fries, the chicken was soggy tasted like it was cooked from frozen, definitely not worth €30. I've had better from the deli of a petrol station. I also ordered a bottle of still water with this meal and I never got it, despite calling reception and the restaurant about this. On a brighter note, the buffet breakfast okay with many options of both hot and cold foods.... unless you're vegetarian or vegan. If so then I'm sorry you'll be abit disappointed. My friend who is vegan had to make do with some fruit. Overall I would not recommend this hotel, and I personally will not be staying here again.

Decent hotel, I was just there for one night on a business stay over and I have no complaints. The staff were lovely the food decent too and most importantly my room was 100%. It was very clean, fresh and modern. The view wasn’t much to look at but that’s not a big deal for me. Would recommend 👌🏻

Hotel looks lovely from the outside and at reception. Lifts very small. Room was OK, no complaints about the room. We had to have the room paid for in advance so then when we checked in the receptionist asked if we would like breakfast, it was going to be 12 euro each. My friends were in the bathroom so she said I could decide anytime.... So in the morning we went down for breakfast and they charged us 15euro each.... For 12 euro you would have to book at reception, but that's not what we were told. Breakfast wasn't great, we were down early and the food seemed like it had been there for a long time, rashers grey in colour. The only thing I will say that was good, was that they had all types of dairy free melk and a gluten free table. On the website it makes out like the swimming pool is a walk but is part of the hotel, but it's actually 10euro per person, which is just crazy.... The hotel should have some kind of deal done for residents. To be honest, I wouldn't stay again.

€37.35 for 2 non-alcoholic beverages, fish & chips that clearly came out of a freezer and a panini made with processed turkey, covered in vinaigrette from a side salad my mother specifically requested NOT be on her plate. The best I can say about the meals is that they were edible. They either need to lower their prices or improve the menu/food quality. Absolutely disgraceful price. We could have (and in hindsight probably should have) made something better at home!

Hotel was just perfect, staff were so friendly and the room was fabulous, we had a beautiful view. Breakfast was only amazing, so much to choose from, dinner was not that exciting to be honest, I asked for a hot chicken curry, it was returned on a different plate and not even hot, no coffee, they said the machine was broken and had no instant🤔. Breakfast made up for it though. Such a pity its sonfar our from town, we had to wait over half an hour to get a taxi and at that we piggy backed another taxi as our one was a no show.

Very pleasant stay. Beds very comfy. Rooms clean. Breakfast good value for money as it’s very good quality with a super selection, and it finishes at 11am unlike most hotels. Attended an award ceremony here and the food was very good considering it was delivered en mass. Drinks are toppy and the communal areas could be cleaner, but other than that no complaints at all and would certainly return.

Stayed here on business for 1 week, rooms OK, kept clean and tidy, food is good, but need to vary up the menu a bit as same menu for a while now. I. Must say food delivery was spot on, very quick at serving food. Handy for me to commute for business travel locally

Very nice modern hotel with all the mod cons you would expect. Free WiFi in the rooms, the signal was a little week though, much better in the lobby area. Restaurant was a reasonably priced but not many options for the the Gluten free in our group. Motorcycle parking can be a little tricky as the area is slopped but we found the better parking towards the hotel entrance. Bus connection is good for the town centre, a few hundred yards from the hotel. Pool and gym area is an additional charge (which wasn't made clear when booking) and 10 euro seemed a bit expensive for a swim.

Absolutely extortionate prices on drink while attending a family wedding recently. It's a pity because the food and the venue are top drawer. Unless u have money to burn, avoid! The pubs in the city centre are far cheaper!! I will never stay there again

The sink blocked, no refrigerator, lift didn’t work, check out at 11am “too early” and the extra hour after 11am cost 20€ what inconsiderate expensive. This hotel was better before, I don’t think I would stay again.

It was pretty warm during our visit and the hotel had no air conditioning. They did provide small oscillating fans to move the warm air around. Room was nice, view was gorgeous, and the breakfast was good. No top sheets with bedding and no wash cloths provided with towels. There was enough parking if you got in early in the day.

I didn’t stay in the hotel but we went for dinner tonight in the hotel. The staff were very nice. We were seated at a dirty table with coleslaw and green on vegetable on it. After 10 minutes I had to ask for it to be cleaned. We waited a long time for the food to be served. It was only ok But what the most disgusting thing was the dirt of the chairs. I didn’t realise this until half way through the meal we didn’t stay for dessert or coffee as I felt sick when I saw how dirty the chair I was sitting on was and other chairs . I sanitised my hands as soon as I got to the car. This is not acceptable to expect people to sit on dirty chairs with germs on them. I like to know if the management in this hotel think this is acceptable ??? I took a photo of the chair and would like to put it with this review but I can’t seem to be able to do that I have this review up 4 days now. Have you noticed there is no response !!!!! Beware

Pleasantly surprised, rooms are large and comfortable, tea/coffee/water and biscuits nice touch. In room safe. Not a fan of showers curtains. No Aircon but would be impossible to retrofit, but electric fan provided.

From check in to check out everything was 5 star.Amazing room with air con and a fridge. Comfortable beds and spotless rooms. Dinner in the Gallery restaurant/bar was very good. Also the breakfast had a massive selection and good coffee. We will be back 👍🏻

I had a very pleasant stay in the Silver Springs. The room was lovely and the service provided throughout the hotel was excellent. Breakfast was most enjoyable with a fabulous choice of food to suit every taste. Thank you once again.

One of the worst hotels I have stayed. The air inside feels dusty. In the corridors it is a strong smell of dust from the old carpets. Lifts are super slow. There is no air conditioning in the rooms. Windows can be open a bit. This helps. Fan is provided. Ventilation is not operational in the bathrooms. It stays hot and humid and smelly if you use a toilet for the whole day. Showers are bath type where the curtain tries to stick to your body. Synthetic pillows, duvet covers and mattress. I have to ask to change my room, because the first one what I got was not supposed to be given to people imho. So my overall review is based on several rooms. There are cellular network antennas all the way around the building what is not healthy at all. But connectivity is good:) WiFi is not bad. Food quality in the restaurant is ok. The price is acceptable. The staff are newbies, but it’s fine. Breakfast is not bad as well. A bit short on assortment. Location is not bad. Free parking.

Hotel is decent. It’s a typical, by the road hotel. Important to mention the hotel DOES NOT have a POOL. There is a pool in a facility, that is a 2 minute drive away. There is an additional charge for this as well of €15 (for a family of 4). Electric car charger was broken on the first day (both of them). Positively, they got one of them fixed for our second night. Staff are very friendly and helpful thankfully! The grounds is difficult to navigate with children. There is a lot of steps up from the car park or a really long way around. Only a smaller detail perhaps most won’t notice, but the main doors for hotel are hinged doors. When carrying kids bags, and everything else into a hotel, this is very awkward! Relatively small investment could make life a lot easier.

Girls on the check in are great and could not be more helpful, they are always happy with a smile on their face, this incites others to smile and puts people at ease, I have stayed in the Clayton silversprings for 3nights per week for over a year and i have got to know the staff and all the girls are great.

Really enjoyed our stay, receptionist on arrival was brilliant, very very helpful. Nicest breakfast chef, really friendly. Room lovely, v quiet, kids had a great time.

Room was very clean and comfortable. There was also a fan which was very useful. The only 2 things that were not great was that there were no individual bottles of shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom, also there was a "light bite " menu advertised from 9pm to 6am , one of the reasons I stayed there actually. However this turned out to not be available which was quite disappointing. But overall a very nice hotel. I had lunch several times and the food was pretty nice.

An absolutely terrible experience from start to finish. The reception and housekeeping staff were excellent. However, the level of service throughout the rest of the hotel is truly awful. Disinterested and blatantly poorly trained staff just don't want to be there. Our weekend stay was horrendously overpriced for the shockingly bad experience that we had inflicted upon us. Our dining experiences were terrible from every point of view. Breakfast is served until 11am on Sundays so we booked for 10.30am and there was literally nothing left. No water, no juice and only a very small amount of hot food. There were several dirty tables which reminded uncleaned during our breakfast. The leisure centre is superb but it costs extra to use, in all seriousness how is this a thing? I'm only getting more and more annoyed as I write this so I think I'll just leave it at that.

This is a typical basic hotel, quite expensive for what it is, but Siobhan Ryan at the bar & another girl I didn’t get her name with glasses and red hair were so nice! Siobhan was the best craic and made the few drinks we had enjoyable! The room was clean and there was a fan in the room without asking, but we had noisy units outside the window that were so loud and had to have the fan on not to hear it.

We booked a family package and we are absolutely surprised that we got a suite! The beds were very comfortable and the toilet was huge. That is the best experience we had in an Irish hotel. Sadly, when we checked in the toilet lights were not working. Someone came to have a look and all he can do is inform the reception. We had the buffet breakfast and it was good to get the kids going for the day. We also got a day pass to the leisure centre that's a 2 mins drive up the hill. There's a process of making an appointment to use the pool. Once the formalities are done, the experience and facilities in the pool was great. The leisure centre is clean too.

One night stay with family. Staff were excellent, friendly and welcoming. The rooms (twin) were a good size , good decor and comfortable beds. Bathroom good size but shower weak , sink very slow to empty if at all. Breakfast had great selection and food was good. Scrambled eggs seemed dry and got the thumbs down from my gang. Would recommend tne hotel and have no hesitation in staying again

Great staff, no complaints there. But man, does this place need to be refurbished, bits of black tape holing up the lift signs, lifts out of order, same material on the chairs since 2007 by the looks of it, its completely worn out and i would not go back for that reason, same price as a modern, clean and well presented hotel in europe, but in tatters. Throw a few quid at it Clayton group!

I was so happy with the room that I got. I did not expect the room to be so big, let alone two beds. I love the bathroom it was so nice nice and big as well. I loved her warmed rumours as well. When I opened the door, I felt the heat straight away. It was really nice, I was very happy I think the staff are really nice as well. Very helpful.

Stayed for few days due to work , rooms very tired and needs updating , restaurant needs refurbishing also asap. But the team was really pleasant, everyone was welcoming and friendly. Waitress with glasses was fantastic! And manager during breakfast was very very nice too ! Would return due to staff

We stayed in this hotel for New Years eve. The hotel was very understaffed and service was extremely slow. The food was okay just average. The room we stayed in was a family room and it had black mold on the ceiling which looked like it had been painted over to try cover it. The gallery bar was so full of people it would take nearly 10 mins to order 1 drink. There is a swimming pool on the hotel grounds but in order for a family of 4 to use it you have to pay 15 euro. This is ridiculous considering the prices of hotels these days. I would not recommend this hotel for family's or news years eve

The Hotel is perfects as is, I wouldn't give 4 stars on the rooms only, maybe 3 stars. But service are 5 stars, there some paricular persons especially Sean who works on Nights. Always cheers you up, always asks if any assistance required, a very pleasant person. Thanks

Stayed here for two nights with family. A quiet place which we loved! Room was clean, spacious and warm with make your own coffee tray. A lovely breakfast to start your day. Dinner was fantastic! I loved the Thai red chicken curry.

Lovely hotel, I've stayed alot with work. The dinner menu never changes, I got chicken curry and I know it was thigh but I didn't expect bones in it. Breakfast is great. Food is lovely but variation to menu would be good.

Staff were unwelcoming and service was slow when the bar was and restaurant were quiet. Food was cold, chips under cooked and certainly below average especially the portion size. Breakfast was cold and staff also not friendly or welcoming. Upon early check out due to such an unsatisfactory stay the lady on the desk didn't even acknowledge us. Never said Morning, thank you or how was your stay. Not one word did she say to us. The service , staff and food was shocking! The only pleasant experience we had was checking in with a nice lady, welcoming and happy to help. Over priced and left as early as we could.

Lovely hotel and decent location if not looking for boozy sessions in town. Only flaw was lack of a family friendly pool. Website advertised family friendly pool but after booking we discovered the pool is in the leisure centre and owned by a separate company. Guests would have to pay to use the pool. This means the hotel doesn't actually have a pool. Little disappointing.

The Best 4-star Hotel in Cork. The Rooms are neat and Clean. Good House keeping staffs. Receptionist are friendly. Food and Beverage staffs awesome. Well maintained property.

Hi all, I had to attend Cork recently and I stayed in the Clayton Hotel Silver Springs. The first thing that I noticed was the attention to social distances and hand sanitisers. The lady who checked us in was delightful. She actually couldn't do enough for us. We had eaten earlier so we didn't have evening meals, but afterwards we had a drink in the bar. The staff were on the ball with table service and social distances was their forefront. The room was bacic but we had a beautiful view of the lights in Cork .it had everything that you needed. The bed was very comfortable especially for someone who doesn't like divan beds. Breakfast next morning was lovely, plenty of everything. I asked if ther was a lift from the dining room to ground floor and the lovely Gentleman escorted me to it. If I had anything negative to say is that , if you did not know that there was no lift , you would have to go down the stairs and back up again. I have mobility issues, so be warned to ask the lovely staff. Well done Silver Springs for you great care showed to us

Easy to find hotel. Staff is friendly but we asked 2x in advance for a baby cot in the family room but none in the room when we arrived. Ok our youngest finally slept with her sister in a double bed. Not great. Rooms can be noisy due to open air concerts next to it. We had to close the windows to get some sleep.

I have often stayed at Clayton Hotels in Dublin because of their consistently high standards of service and comfort. The Clayton hotel Silver Springs, Cork was even of a higher standard to Dublin in terms of bedroom fittings and furnishings. The breakfast was excellent. The staff in reception and restaurant were very friendly, efficient and helpful.

Only a 3 ☆ for the room as the shower wasn't great. The rest was absolutely fab. A good shower after a long trip is lovely.

  • 2/5 Oliver L. 1 year ago on Google
Unfortunately it was not a great experience 1 It was cold, which is understandable given the cost to heat a hotel. But why are people seated with backs to a huge curved panoramic window and the drapes open. Closing them would have helped a lot 2 I had oan fried sea bass for around 22E. It was oily and the texture was rubbery. Not pleasant at all 3 My partner, who doesn't eat meat had a Salmon Paella. Seems strange to her that there were pieces of fried bacon in the rice. Also, a very oily rice dish 4 In the middle of our meal, we were having a nice meal when a man came to our table, very close to my partner and proceeded to put very large drinks menus very close to her face. I was shocked. Absolutely no manners - I think he was a manager 4 The server was very attentive, courteous and helpful. We left a gratuity which she deserved

Bedroom was clean and comfortable, as was the bathroom. Receptionist was helpful and friendly. Very poor dinner, we both had Seabass with mashed potatoes. It was inedible, easily the worst meal I have eaten in a long time.

100% would not stay there again. Service is very poor staff are lovely but really slow ar everything. Both myself and husband got food poisoning on first night after making it known they refunded the price of the burger no apology. We were down at a wedding the wedding day was then ruined for us as both of us sick. Put sign out for room to be cleaned came back to find it exactly the same. Shower either scalding or cold no in between. Some sort of generator or something outside out window below is made a sound every 5minutes or so all through the night. We were outside freezing ringing the bell and banging on the door trying to get in on Friday night several staff walked passed before one staff member stopped hovering the floor and let us in. Breakfast was cold coffee was good. Bar man was great at his job (don’t remember name but had long hair and glasses) , the bar supervisor however was not, running around trying to look busy doing nothing not professional at all and appeared to be no help to his staff unkept looking with messy hair. Location was perfect for what we wanted. Definitely do not waste your money staying here if you’re looking to relax or have a vacation.

Stayed here twice. Clean, convenient (easy to get to/lots of parking) and has a large hotel vibe. Understaffed, as both times we were left waiting for food (over an hour) and drinks.

Stayed here start of December. Nice hotel the bar was very cold the night I was in also having breakfast the next morning it was noticeably chilly. But the rooms where very toasty so not a massive issue . The bar food was decent and the buffet breakfast was fantastic. Good location for travelling into or out of the city too.

Hotel modern, clean and in good location but need to seriously work on the basics of hotels such as back ground music and training. Staff are really nice overall but with a bit more training it could be alot better. Needs to be driven home about the importance of friendliness and chatting on check-in as first impressions are everything especially now with hotels costing so much more to stay in people want to feel they are getting value for money.

  • 2/5 SeanP 10 months ago on Google
Lovely comfortable bedrooms in a modern hotel with views. Great sleep. Ample free parking. The presentation for breakfast looked impressive, but the "hot breakfast" did not taste great, was only luke warm and was lying too long. One guest complained that there was no orange juice left in the decanter. Staff took away the decanter and never refilled or replaced it. Problem solved? Noticeable tension among the staff at breakfast time on this particular morning. Staff generally paid very little friendly attention to guests. Staff need to engage more with guests, and maybe smile a bit more. This one-night stay for one person was very expensive. But for the first time in my life, I did not feel particulatly welcome in a hotel.

Excellent staff. Most courteous and helpful. Arranged an outside table for dinner as we had our dog with us. Nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend. Oh, the food was great too.

Stayed here for two nights and overall the place looks nice and is a fine hotel, but the staff were horrendous and created a horrible atmosphere. The bar manager with long scruffy hair was horrible to his staff and none of them looked happy to be there at all. A table beside us returned there food and he stormed off with the plates so fast that he dropped knives and forks in front of the whole restaurant. Would not recommend to anyone for the price being paid it’s not at all worth it. Stay away
