One of the best hotels I’ve stayed in. Large room with a king bed & two singles. We had breakfast on the terrace with amazing views and Orla treated us like rock stars. Lovely swimming pool with sauna and steam room. Brian looked after us in the bar, overall a lovely stay. Would love to stay there again.

Our first night wasn’t great, we were roasting and we couldn’t sleep at all. I have to say I was upset. But, we told to reception our issue and they explained to us that customers were usually cold (I really can’t understand how!) and they offered a change of room with a small compensation. After that everything was fabulous but, even though the service and the place is great, what really makes the difference is the team and the organization. The two receptionist I dealt with were absolutely great, the cleaning service was helpful and the restaurant and spa team well organized. So, even though I started a bit upset, I am 100% sure I will come back for my next romantic/relaxing break.

I had a wonderful experience at this charming hotel. The staff are exceptional. The gentleman st reception was extremely professional. I do not recall his name but he had a lovely non Irish accent and was simply charming. The rooms are being renovated at the moment with minimal disturbance to guests. I was given a non renovated room and it wasn't pleasant and within a short time I was allocated a newly renovated room and it was perfect. Dinner was delicious. Staff at dinner couldn't do enough for me. This is a hidden gem and the staff make the experience simply superior. Thank you.

The food was delicious. Fantastic breakfast spread. Staff in the restaurant were brilliant especially Jenna, she was so polite and kind. Unfortunately reception was a huge disappointment, the first room I received, I believe it was the wrong room as it was set up for one person. It had no bath tub. I went to reception and stated that I had booked a double classic , for two people. The receptionist told be I was put in a easy access room, I asked why I was put in that room as I had not requested it, the question was not answered. The receptionist just gave me another room key. So I moved rooms, then the room I was given smelled of smoke. I contacted reception and eventually they came and smelled the room and confirmed there was a smell of smoke. I was told that there was a wedding there and that many guests had smoked in there room and they would charge them a cleaning fee, this was none of my business to know that, there was no privacy here. I was then upgraded to a room with a garden view, I was made feel like I was a fussy customer. I said I didn't want an upgrade , all I wanted was a double classic , if I wanted a better room ,I would have book it. I felt judged, like I was trying to find fault with everything, which was not true as I have stayed there before. They first place me in a single easy access room when I had booked a double classic for two people. I won't stay there again.

Beautiful hotel in a lovely quiet location with stunning views. Staff were lovely ,so no need for them to be spoken to the way they were by the older guy that seemed to be in charge. He just came across as abrupt. Pizzas were fab as well as the free drink for the room not being ready but then being upgraded to the bridal suite. Seems like they really look after their customers.

It's been 5 years since I last visited. Despite the low vegan food choices there was still some nice stuff(if you can tolerate pescetarian) to choose from. Service was excellent. The 2 waiters one serving dinner on the 5th (blonde tall a bit shaggy) I am sorry can't remember names)and in the morning (tall dark hair glasses) deserve 5 stars. Served once checked twice. Knew the menus. Remembered preferences (no onions!) Customer oriented. Offered alternatives.(Falafels). For sure I'll come back.

Fantastic location for a lovely getaway. Beautiful grounds to walk in, with gorgeous views of the area. Staff were wonderful, friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay special. We didn't want to eat anywhere else, because the restaurant staff were so lovely, and the food and service were so good. Would very much recommend to any other couples looking for a nice holiday.

Stayed here 2 nights and I barely ever say this word...but it was actually perfect. Room was quite large, extremely clean (Housekeeping was on point). We asked for bath robes, and they were expressly delivered to our room with no charge. Gym, pool, jacuzzi, sauna, everything was fantastic. Definitely will come back, we were already checking availability for summertime.

This review is solely for the Spa. Massage was nice enough, albeit a bit short. The dry floatation was lovely although I wasn't sure what to do when it was over, whether someone was coming back to get me or not etc, so I just left the room myself in the end. The Relaxation Room wasn’t that nice, it could definitely do with a bit of updating as it looks very tired and worn. The “fruit” they brought out after the treatments was just a bowl of dried banana slices and raisins. Felt the set up of changing rooms wasn't the best, had to ask the receptionist a lot of questions about everything, including the process for the lockers - she told me there were no keys for them, which was a little worrying. I also had to ask for a hairdryer as there didn't appear to be any in the changing room, and then when I went over to the shower there wasn't any shampoo/conditioner or shower gel either! I then had to ask about this, to which she seemed surprised (I wasn't aware I was required to bring my own with me?) but said she would see if she could find some... I couldn't be bothered at this point anymore, so I said I would just drive home unshowered and with wet hair. Not really good enough for a spa and hotel in fairness, completely lacking the basic necessities. Overall I was disappointed. Wouldn't recommend this spa unfortunately, and wouldn’t come back again.

We attended a day two wedding BBQ here in July. Everything from the food to service waa great. Couldn't fault the BBQ, very tasty! The service right from arrival to departure the next morning was great. Ronan, Paul, the bar and wait staff, were fantastic all throughout the day and Jodie, one or the late night staff was fab! They were all just really helpful and accommodating. All the children attending had a great time down on the grass playing soccer too which was great. The hotel is in a nice quiet location outside of the town with great views. Thank you to John, along with a the reception staff also who helped locate some lost belongings days after.

One of the best hotels that I have been. Rooms very comfy and clean. Breakfast with great options. The staff is so friendly and helpful: Otto, Simon, Rodrigo and John made us feel so welcomed. Thank you and for sure we will be back soon.

Kinsale Hotel This place is an excersise in disaster. I have stayed at many hotels and always strive to be objective in my reviews of both food, hotels and shopping, and I can without a doubt say this might be one of the worst hospitality experiences I’ve ever had. I’m surprised to see so many positive reviews and unfortunately did not experience the same, although people’s taste levels vary. From the moment we arrived to the property, I could tell from the shell of the building and sterile hospital waiting room like quality of the entry foyer that we were in for trouble, however, it is not often that I would bother to write up comments based solely on aesthetics. The view alone could not salvage this evening. What triggered this deluge of negative comments to follow is not an occurrence of the hotel itself but the unprofessional and downright rude personalities of the pool staff. Brian and Kayla, two smug individuals acted in a discriminatory manner to our group, offering coy sarcasm and attitude towards our visit to the pool (which be advised, guests of the hotel will have to pay to “rent” a swim cap and also for a towel, then move into a dirty wet and damp changing room in order to enter the pool area, which is clearly , shared with the community - that’s fine but it’s not really a pool of the hotel. This Kayla person has the audacity to come up to our elder mother who wasn’t swimming and GRAB the swim gear out of her possession citing that “YOURE NOT HSING THST ANYWAY” - we paid for that! How insane that someone would have the nerve to just walk up and take something without asking. It was really shocking to be honest. Staff management higher up offered apologies. And we can move on, but it doesn’t end there; This hotel is just Straight up filthy. There are stains all over the carpets , the ikea grade furniture is peeling , the decking is rotting and littered with cigarettes and we notice broken glass on the exterior courtyard. If you want to sleep well don’t come here; our room was about 100 degrees , sun beating in and no ventilation, the air condition was broken. The more you look around this place the more things are off you notice, stains dripping down the ceiling from faulty sky light connections, a cracked bathroom sink. Pieces of the rugs are missing or duck taped. This place is honestly kind of ghetto and is borderline flirting with the idea of a frat house. It’s our belief that this place is to pack tourist busses in an our, or rowdy bachelor/rette parties. To close off our stay, after a work out in the gym (which wasn’t too bad to be honest, good selection of weights and machines ) I returned to our room ready to shower and found that our hot water was out. It became quite comical at the point, this place is a joke, a dance of distaste of epic proportions and sadly an unworthy blemish on what has been a beautiful trip to a beautiful country with so many wonderful hotels and people. I don’t want this honest reflection on our stay to negatively impact those mostly good people working there, it is merely a problem of deteriorating management rotten from the top down. You can tell someone with no experiences owns this place was according to past reviews it was good once upon a time. Save yourself the headache and support another hardworking, respectable establishment that is visitor focused, it won’t be too hard to find in Ireland!

Situated approx 5km or so outside of Kinsale town, the hotel is located in an area of natural beauty. The scenery viewable from the rooms (which I've stayed in) and from the restaurant/bar area is fantastic. This is my third visit to the hotel over a 15 year period. Sadly, this hotel's standards have depreciated somewhat over the years. The rooms, while clean, look a little dated and weathered now and would benefit from being freshened up and modernised. The once amazing pool and leisure area is in need of some TLC too, especially when compared to other hotels I've stayed in a similar price bracket. Most of the Staff were helpful and friendly during our stay but unfortunately there is just nothing special or remarkable about this hotel other than the natural beauty of its location. This is likely to be my last stay here until it undergoes some meaningful refurbishment.

Lovely comfortable hotel with great staff, located a few Kms from Kinsale. The hotel has a free shuttle service too. Very nice bar, good food. Lots of choice for breakfast. Fantastic views too. Very good amenities, the pool was great for kids. Would definitely return.

Excellent hotel with very outgoing and friendly staff who treated us like family. The location and views from our east facing room were breathtaking. The food was excellent and we had no reason to go into Kinsale, even though the hotel provides a free shuttle.

Had a family gathering here with a large group coming from all over. All booked through Peter Zemek the front desk manager.. He gave a great first impression and put up with all the usual chopping and changing we had to do to accommodate my parents, 5 adult children, their partners, 6 grandchildren and our cousin. Nothing was too much trouble. Better value and service than going through BookingDOTcom. The hotel was great, we all had an evening meal on the Friday night which was lovely and on Saturday night we availed of the hotels courtesy car to bring most of us down to Kinsale where we ate out. From the front desk staff, to the leisure club and bar staff everyone was really friendly. Very comfortable with kids and mixed family groups. The location is great.. The weather didn't help and we didn't explore outside but it does look like a great place to get a walk/run in with nice woods and trails leading down to the shore. Some stuff needs updating in the pool area or wasn't working 100% but it didn't matter. Breakfast was the usual hotel fare but there was lots of options. The raw honeycomb and pancakes were a hit with us. Manager Ronan spoke to us during dinner helping point out places to go and set the tone for the rest of us team in being helpful, friendly and responsive. Looking forward to going back as are the rest of the family, young and not so young alike. Thanks all, important to give credit where it's due.

Dirty walls, stained carpets, dripping water, peeling paint and rude staff. What an absolute disaster of a hotel and to think this has a 4 star rating, I really don't know how. The hotel looks nothing like what is advertised online, it's one big false advertisement. We had to check out early and had to fight to get a full refund. The grounds are overgrown and unkept, and the hotel itself is dirty and dated. If I could give this hotel a zero rating I would.

Lovely hotel, great friendly staff in an enjoyable quiet location. Lovely seas views (when there is good weather). The food is lovely and the gym and Spa are great.

Air conditioning was turned off for the season and it was at least 25C in the 2 rooms we had all night so none of us slept. Also pillows were hard foam, no feather ones available. Nice place and good breakfast but I expect much more from a 4 star hotel.

This is a review specifically for the spa. My bridesmaids and I went to the spa for an afternoon just before my wedding. I can not thank the girls enough for the truly wonderful and special experience they laid on for us. They went above and beyond, with Anna in particular a real gem, pivoting and customising our treatments. This really is an exceptional spa and team. The quality of the treatments is really high and the view from the relaxation room is also gorgeous.

Rooms were clean and spacious and well maintained. The hotel is modern looking and clean, and the breakfast was good. Staff went far and beyond to provide what was not available at the buffet table, the view to my room was beautiful. The spa and swimming area was well kept. Location is a little off the main road but not a long drive to kinsale town. Ample parking. I would definitely be going back

We got married at the Kinsale Hotel and Spa on the 14.10.23 and we couldn't rate it highly enough. From start to finish,we had the most amazing day and every detail was well looked after. All the staff were amazing,in particular Karolina,Ronan,Paul and John. Dora on the front desk also went above and beyond to help me get our 2 little girls settled on the night of the wedding. All our guests commented on the great food and breathtaking scenery. We will forever treasure the wonderful memories we made here on such a special day. Thank you, Sarah & Gary McSweeney💕

We had our wedding in the Kinsale hotel and spa at the end of may, after postponing 3 times due to the pandemic (initial date was sept 2020). The hotel made all of it so easy for us during a stressful time. We had the most incredible day with the help of Natasha, Ronan and all the staff! They couldn’t have done enough for us and our guests! The drinks reception and the ball room were both so beautiful! The food was incredible everybody at the wedding agreed!! We honestly could not thank all the staff enough for everything over the last 4 years! We would highly recommend the hotel to stay, eat and especially host your wedding! The views alone are amazing!

Lovely hotel, comfortable beds nice rooms with attention to detail. Beautiful pool and spa lovely friendly staff in the leisure centre. Honestly we didn't have high expectations for breakfast but we're pleasantly surprised. Such attentive friendly staff especially the manager I didn't catch her name. Delicious freshly cooked omlette. Beautiful decor and stunning views in the dining area. I will definitely return.

Fantastic support from Natasha, management and staff for A and A wedding on 8th April. Excellent service for food and beverage. Natasha and her team were incredibly supportive at all stages of the planning and on the day itself. Several guests said it was the best wedding they were ever at.

Our friend had their wedding reception here. The team was incredible. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and respectful. When we came in they quickly guided us to where we needed to go. They guided everyone gently. The reception was quick and efficient. The process was simple. Just make sure to wear a mask. The food and the setup was fabulous. The team came out with menus. There were no major mix ups. The view was incredible. Now we were lucky enough with the weather. The grounds are beautiful there is a gorgeous garden and lush woodland. Everything is easy to walk and access. #wedding #hotel #venue #view #accessible #familyfriendly #wheelchairaccessible #groupseating

This hotel is a hidden Gem in Kinsale. I was there for a family wedding. Food awesome. Bedrooms awesome and hotel awesome. They have a spa, swimming pool and gym. It is a perfect weekend break and you have everything on your finger tips from breakfast right through to dinner. Menus for vegitarians and vegans. The garends and scenery are amazing. They really take great care in keeping the place very clean and presentable. This hotel is ideal for tourists locals and anyone wanting either a break, business or even have your wedding. They provide a fantastic wedding venue. I absolutely and honestly have nothing bad to say about this hotel. Travelling by car is the best however you can get a bus and then a short taxi ride to hotel grounds. It is not situated within walking distance of a shop especially in bad weather so go prepared if you want those sneaky snacks while on the bed watching TV

We stayed in the lodges for months whilst our house was being renovated and the staff both at the hotel and leisure centre couldn't have been nicer. Sarah, Peter and Paul were always helpful and accommodating. The lodges themselves were great. The setting in the woods is gorgeous and the pool and gym are super.

Wow. We recently got married at Kinsale Hotel & Spa and seriously cannot say enough about how incredible the entire experience was. From the moment we arrived, the hotel staff made us feel special and completely taken care of at all times. We had waited 4.5 long years and had to postpone our big day twice due to the pandemic, so we wanted every detail to be perfect and the hotel helped make that happen. From Peter Z. at the front office to Natasha and her assistant in weddings/events to John who was an absolute legend and everywhere we needed him to be (he was a lifesaver!), the staff made the whole weekend a truly wonderful experience. The food was fantastic, from the full Irish breakfast to the wedding reception meal, the views were stunning and the location was perfect, especially for our guests traveling to Ireland from other countries (many for the first time). We count our lucky stars that we booked Kinsale Hotel & Spa so many years ago as it lived up to our every hope and expectation. Highly recommend the hotel for your next event or getaway, you won't be disappointed.

I visited the spa over the weekend. I had booked in for some treatments before my wedding this week to have some quality chill time with my Sisters, Mum, and future Mother-in-Law. To say they went above and beyond is an understatement. Iva was absolutely wonderful and made our time there so relaxing. She even squeezed me in for a last minute appointment a few days later to fix an issue with my pedicure AND gave my a little gift bag as I left. She is truly the sweetest and made our experience at the Spa that bit more special.

Absolutely stunning hotel, amazing views and truly fantastic staff. Special mention of Katie on Bar duty, such a Gem to the hotel. Food was wonderful although i don't get the "Smoked Bacon" for breakfast. Spa & Pool are perfect something for everyone. Loved watching the Rabbits at night from balcony.

What a fabulous family friendly hotel . We had such a wonderful visit great There is nothing more refreshing than being welcomed by a professional front of house . The food was great both for breakfast and dinner . The swimming pool which is spotless clean with thalasso areas in it which was such a plus to help us unwind from our busy lifestyles . The bedrooms were really lovely with comfortable beds and generous when it comes to pillows . I have to say the staff here are absolutely fantastic , so warm and friendly. You would know there is a high presence of management when you see a team work happily together . A hidden gem in one of Irelands most beautiful locations Thank you to the management and team for making our trip so wonderful we will be back for sure !

Beautiful location unfortunately where it ends. Staff are friendly but seriously lacking training. Got a beer shandy and was charged 10 euro. Told me you pay for a full pint and the mixer. First time I've ever had that experience. Was in Sheen Falls sunday 6 euro and to say the place was on a different level would be an understatement. Probably explained why so quiet. AVOID.

Beautiful hotel hidden away in some nice tranquil grounds. You can take a lovely walk down to path to the lake and feel like your miles away from everything. Staff couldn't have been nicer or more obliging - not that we were left wanting for anything. Only 5 minutes away from Charles fort which is 100% worth a visit. And only 10 minutes drive from the town. If your not driving defo get the staff to order you a taxi as you won't get one outside and the roads are small, dark and bendy, definitely wouldn't want to walk in the dark. But we got a guy they called who gave us his number and a couple of others and we never had to wait long for lift down town and for 6 of us it was only €25 which is less than €5er a head. The rooms were spacious and clean, beds comfy and very quiet. We only had breakfast but didn't eat dinner in the hotel but the breakfast was lovely. Would definitely go back.

I cannot find a separate review site for the leisure centre, the hotel itself is fine, food is nice etc. The leisure centre has really let the place down. Very poor communication on their part last year regarding membership and lessons, then the audacity to back track and hold us accountable. We gave them the benefit of the doubt when they said they would contact us by January or by March at the latest, that has come and gone with zero communication. We have since signed up with a different one for the year. It's a shame that the ego of a person working/ 'managing' in the leisure centre could not admit the communication mess up was clearly on their side but was not willing to budge an inch to ensure a good customer experience was delivered which, when done correctly, brings in even more custom. Instead the opposite has happened. The hotel also loses out due to this as we had previously recommended friends and family stay there which they did, but not anymore. We also had plans to have a family celebration there this year, overnight stays, dinners etc. which also will not be happening.

Unfortunately we only stayed 1 night, but this is one I would return to over and over. Reception was so nice and helpful with recommendations. The bar tender was friendly and attentive. Also gave us some great tips for our travels. The room was very comfortable and the shower pressure was amazing. It is a bit too far to walk to downtown Kinsale but there was ample parking for us.

The most wonderful hotel and the friendliest people. The hotel represents Ireland in its true sense! We come here every Sunday and each of our visits were absolutely fantastic. From our time in the pool and jacuzzi to our breakfast in the Restaurant, the service is just impeccable! I would specially like to mention Dijaba who was the manager during our breakfast times in the restaurant. She has been absolutely fantastic and accommodated us like a family every time we went. She even remembered our order which was the most touching thing ever ! Thank you so much for giving us wonderful memories to cherish. ♥️

Nice quiet location. Friendly staff. Food excellent service excellent . Has a swimming pool. And excellent walks.Only gripe was the price of drink. Too expensive. 6.30 for a pint of Guinness. Other than that hotel was excellent.
