Stayed at the Dean this week & I am in two minds about it, the bar & restaurant were fantastic, loved the food however the bedroom wasn't fully clean, bedside lockers were dirty, bathroom floor needed a good scrub & if I'm being totally honest the restaurant wasn't clean enough the following morning for breakfast. Lots of staff all of whom were very friendly. .Place has lots of potential but definitely over priced for a room at the current standards. In the midst of a pandemic you'd expect the place to be clinically clean. Regularly stay in Cork but just feel we get better bang for our buck else where,

So me and my partner stayed at the Dean for two nights over the bank holiday weekend. For anyone staying just know when you check in they will take a ā‚¬100 security deposit so be aware. I assume this if for the mini bar in the rooms. When you check in make sure to ask about everything you want to know as there website is hard to navigate to find opening and closing times for the gym and pool. In the rooms there is some cool features like the semg fridge and the record player. They do have bath robes but be aware if you are a tall person or slightly heavier just know itā€™s on size fits all for the bath robes which I something I didnā€™t like. The room was clean except for the brown tan stain on the bed which when we mentioned it they cleaned right away. I would of liked a follow up for this but it never came. All in all the hotel is very nice and walking distance to the town so no need for taxis. On check out they will ask you if you had anything in the room which we had a vitamin water which we paid cash for. I then got my refund for the security deposit which they didnā€™t give back full amount saying we got a chocolate bar, which we didnā€™t. I am now waiting to hear back from management. It might be only ā‚¬6.60 but itā€™s the principal of the matter. I will give this stay a 3/5 Star for the reasons above with no follow ups on incident with bed, little information about hotel amenities such are pool and restaurant, taking a security deposit with no knowledge before checking in. I hope for anyone going to stay at the hotel finds this helpful. Regards, Mark

The aesthetics of the hotel are amazing. Itā€™s a beautiful place with a brilliant vibe, however thatā€™s were the value for money ends. Paid 341 for a one night stay which we accepted as everywhere else was booked. I expected big things for that kind of money. Mini bar was half stocked, the deodorants and gel that was available with the mini bar were all half used, the bed was made very poorly and dust and hair all over it. Desk was dusty also and as for the vinyl player and records available in the room, the vinyls were scratched and all loose in sleeve obviously werenā€™t checked by housekeeping. Robes had some stains on them also. Some staff were friendly others werenā€™t. Ate in Sophieā€™s that night spent 4+ hours there and a few hundred spent on food and drinks and the service was extremely lacking. Took ages for every drink ordered, waiter seemed to be gone to the moon, felt very neglected. Overall very disappointed for the money we paid. Iā€™m under the impression though this kind of experience is very rare here. Wouldnā€™t stay again but would recommend to others for a once off experience.

Just back from a nights stay on Saturday in this fantastic hotel. Loved it, a little bit pricey but you're paying for what you get. Very trendy with a great vibe. Staff were really lovely and the cocktails were amazing. I will be definitely be back

2nd time staying here now and probably my last. The hotel decor and rooms are very nice, rooftop restaurant and bar are very good. Breakfast is overpriced and portions small. Residents bar shut at 12 on a bank holiday weekend, this is surprising given nearly every other bar doesn't stop until 12.30 lots of guests were not happy with this given the price of a room at this hotel. First time I stayed in 2022 the hotel seemed to be more about guests and the experience now does feel more about profit

Pros: Spacious room. Extremely comfy bed and spotlessly clean linen. A/C Coffee machine, speaker, SMART TV, generous display of snacks, beverages, etc. Room service was excellent. Staff are wonderful, extremely helpful and friendly. Check-in: Far too long. Queued for well over 40 minutes. Covid19 H&S: One hand santizer station located at entrance to hotel. People walking through hotel without masks. Cleanliness of room and bathroom upon arrival was questionable (stains on bathroom floor, strong odor from toilet and dusty floors) Price: Overcharged at reception for drinks in room (price list in room + price list at reception varied). Room was overpriced & not value for money. Location: Relatively central. Easy access to Kent.

Beautiful hotel with a great location and amazing amenities in the room. However Sophie's was lacking and made the food package a waste of Euros. The staff sat us in the very back near the work station where a staff member made a comment assuming my Mom and I were lovers. So that made for an awkward dinner with a poor view when there we plenty of open tables. So I would recommend any other place to eat from Moodys Cafe to Franciscan Well Brewery & Brewpub. Views mean nothing with poorly trained staff.

Stayed there for 3 night. Pros: A nice new hotel with a very nice gym. I really like the gym. Itā€™s probably one of the best hotel gyms. I also like the decorations. Cons: the room is really small with tiny windows and thereā€™s no view. Although the gym is nice, itā€™s closed at 9pm. Iā€™m quite disappointed about that. For the price, I was expecting more.

Gorgeous modern hotel. Staff are incredible, went out of their way to make sure our group of 6 felt welcomed and comfortable during our stay. Staff can make or break a hotel, but one member really stood out to us, Ian. He was amazing, he went above and beyond for our group and even remembered us when he passed us in the train station and hung up his phone call to make sure he said goodbye to us, such a lovely person. Room, drinks/Cocktails, food, Leisure centre were all amazing. Left feeling very happy we will be back.

Such a brilliant experience at the Dean Cork. The staff are so attentive and on the ball. The decor is so modern and just stunning. There is a great vibe around the hotel with a Dj on when I was there. The gym and pool are state of the art! The rooftop restaurant Sophieā€™s is amazing too! 10 minutes walking distance to all pubs and restaurants in the city.

Very, very impressed with this hotel. Booked this based on a ā€œgood dealā€ and location according to an online search. Not only is it a unique and vibrant atmosphere but what I loved most is the level of service and hospitality. It is not your generic hotel and not a quiet escape but they have been able to provide an entire experience and not just a check in to check out stay. Highly recommend.

Pros: - Central location and convenient to walk around with lots of great spots to eat and drink - Comfortable bed Cons: - No parking, and the staff suggested parking at the train station, which was full, without giving other option - 200 euro for a very small room - No views - Noise from the train station - Shower drain overflowing - When I checked in, the staff told me the room was ready, when in fact it was missing a celebratory thing I requested and paid for - The staff didn't know where the "Marquee" was when I asked the location - Thee receptionist asked TWICE if I ever stayed at their hotel. The first time I said no. The second time I said yes, and they answered with "welcome" both times - It is an extremely expensive hotel with tiny rooms, no views, staff that has poor knowledge about the city and what's going on (huge festival happening in the city hence my visit at the hotel) and inattentive staff

Swish hotel beside Kent Station. The comfort and decor inside belie the dark, sombre look of the exterior. Efficient staff and on a rainy day there were people happily using their laptops and drinking coffee out front.

My husband and I were married from The Dean last week and we absolutely loved every minute of our experience. We booked four Super Rooms for ourselves and our guests and each room was stunningly beautiful. The decor and the atmosphere of this hotel is unlike anything else. We went for drinks in Sophieā€™s on our first night, and in the lobby bar on our second night. Both bars are gorgeous, as is the leisure centre. The pool and sauna/steam room are especially luxurious. Looking forward to being back for our anniversary next year and every year. Thanks to all at The Dean for looking after us so well.

We stayed here in July as a rather nice start to a visit to friends and family around Cork. The rooms are outstanding, the staff wonderful and the overall experience and ambience simply great. The pool is really just a leisure dip but the gym is well equipped and nicely placed to be able to watch the outside world whilst working out. We enjoyed the bar with the outside terrace looking over the river. The area is upcoming with new developments nearby. We were a bit concerned about being disturbed by the adjacent railway station but it wasnā€™t an issue at all. Breakfast was excellent but, in my opinion, very expensive. It set me back ā‚¬35+ for granola, juice, coffee and a full Irish breakfast. The food was first class, the view brilliant, the staff great but still on the expensive side IMO. Overall a brilliant stay and I would recommend the Dean to anyone looking for a treat.

We stayed at the Dean on Saturday 11/2 Very impressive location and facade. We were down for a birthday function held in hotel . Great Bar staff and function room Our room was small and basic and albeit an impressive decor / no real storage or wardrobe šŸ˜±šŸ˜± . For the price we paid I was a little disappointed but for the location great if you are getting the train. Would I return - probably 3.5/5

Train noise is the only issue I had with the place. Room was right beside the train station and the noise for me was a big let down. The window was closed as well as the vents and it still was too loud. I would not go back or recommend to anyone just because of that alone. Room, service and food, gym, pool was top notch besides that.

Fantastic stay... cocktails were amazing, service was great. Restaurant food was fantastic. Our room was small but very well equipped, it was spotless and the bed was very comfortable. Be aware that there is no dedicated parking at this hotel but you can park in the train station for a few.

Kind and excellent hotel staff, most of them are very young but really professional and willing to help. Rooms are beautiful and well kept, that can be said about the entire hotel. The rooms are small and have no wardrobe but the design and use of space is very smart. Shower and bed are great. The gym/pool staff were super helpful and welcoming, facilities are also small but beautiful and well kept. Overall it was a delight staying there. Sophieā€™s is a bit of an overpriced disappointment and the serving staff isnā€™t great or welcoming, they have an attitude, could be that they were just under pressure or thatā€™s just the Gen Z way of working, but I would not recommend them for dinner. For breakfast thou itā€™s pretty much the only option. Order breakfast to the room

The Dean is fabulous. They went out of their way to make our stay special. I had booked it for the night to propose to my partner (who said yes!). We can't speak highly enough about our stay. The staff were all friendly and welcoming and so lovely. They also gave us an room upgrade for the special occasion. A perfect night in Cork, we couldn't have asked ofr anywhere better for it. Thank you all so much.

Came into the establishment after coming from the Marina market. The bar tender was very hospitable and the drinks were very reasonable. The interior was very nice with a good ambient tone to it. Will come again

The atmosphere, service and DJ in the lobby is incredible šŸ‘ The Dean is a great spot to have a few cocktails and enjoy the night. Table service was brilliant, there was no shortage of servers.

Long post ahead and this relates to the hotel and the restaurant - Loved this spot! We got a good deal through Chase and boy did we get our moneys worth! This hotel is cute and chic, a little retro influenced. The bathrooms are magnificent lol and are my favorite part of the rooms! But my four stars relates to the bed not being very comfortable (but that might just be me) and there not being any real place to hang any clothes (we stayed for 3 nights). The pool/steam room/sauna are very nice and a great thing to have after dealing with allergies during high pollen! Now, Rosieā€™s rooftopā€¦delicious!!! Now my husband and I only had the pizza and a meat and cheese plate, but, we also stopped in at 7:30 on a Saturday while they had a BUSY night of hen parties (judging by all the sashes!) and they sat us on the beautiful terrace that overlooks the port. The hostess squeezed us in and then also was able to shift something around to allow us to sit longer and take our time. Add to all the the delicious food and fast service, we thoroughly enjoyed everything about our stay!

Beautiful hotel, wish we could have stayed longer. We were bringing our dog and the staff were very accommodating, including providing a larger room for us. We were allowed to eat with our dog on the fabulous terrace which is also heated. A lovely stay!

Very chic and cool, super stacked bar, bit noisy but that doesnā€™t bother me. Sophies food excellent with marvellous service from the amazingly intuitive Maria from Brazil. My main order was not what I expected and the matter was handled most elegantly and sensitively. Careful at door of en-suite bathroom - I got a nasty cut on arm from latch. Pool and gym very clean, swish, dynamic and vibrant. Great place to stay with a couple of small warnings!

Great hotel, comfy beds, lovely bathroom and shower. Room small but that wasnā€™t a problem On the first night the bedroom was vibrating with the bass from the music. There was a wedding underneath us and it was loud. It took about an hour but it they did move us to a different floor. We had food in the rooftop restaurant , lovely restaurant and attentive staff. Food was good but not amazing. Tried several cocktails which were fabulous! Sat in the hotel bar in the evening, good vibes, music was great and had a great evening. Overall the pricing is a bit higher than normal but I would definitely go back for the experience. Opted for no breakfast so no pressure to get up in the morning but you could get room service. Went down for coffee and croissants around 10 am , was 10 euro for two. Stay for two nights was 360 euro Meal for two in the restaurant with a drink each a starter and a main was 115 euro In the bar a cocktail and pint was 20 euro, which I thought was ok. My only negative was the room was a bit dusty and could have been cleaned a bit better. .

Great staff..if a little young...where are the older people? Like no one over 30... is that about appearances or about wages? But they were super friendly and helpful.. Good on tap wine during dinner and great cocktails before and after. Food was very tasty. Lovely decor and views. Look forward to visiting again.

Hotel itā€™s fabulous. I really enjoyed my stay. Interior design and material finishes are high end. Marble, noble wood and brass to name few. Lighting very good in common areas as the bedroom. I slept very good, bedlinen, mattress and pillows comfortable to next level. Finally staff, all very welcoming. I assume is the warm and friendly Irish style. Iā€™d like to try all Dean hotels now. This hotel will be my first choice when Iā€™m back. Thanks

The details and thought behind every aspect is stunning. Great vibe. Food on the rooftop patio was perfect. The gym sauna pool in the morning were great. All in all an excellent experience and very quick walk into the city center. Only downside but not worth docking stars - no parking available on site and the protein shakes after the gym were horrible

  • 4/5 Jess H. 1 year ago on Google
Great level of finish on the rooms, quality is superb as are the toiletries. I usually can't use the provided items they are too drying and fragranced, these were amazing that I will look into buying. The pool area was also just as good. Didn't get to use it but the gym and fitness areas also looked good. There is also the possibility of free rental of bikes so you can do a nice easy sightseeing tour of your own. The staff also gave us some great tips for places to eat and drink. The view from the bar terrace is also great, it's on one of the highest floors, though it is now partially obscured by what looks to be an office block being built in front of it

Stayed 4 nights. Loved it as did our teenagers who lived all the details . Pool area so is so relaxing and every detail in the decorations thought through. Lovely toiletries too Every single member of staff at every level were dedicated to make your stay pleasurable and were all so lovely. Big thanks to James who throughout our stay checked in how we were in a friendly, genuine unobtrusive way. Clearly costumer experience really matters . Loved the setting at Sophieā€™s though more variety on the menu would have been a plus . Great recommendations from staff in where to go which were spot on. I donā€™t usually stay in fancier hotels but it was really worth the extra cost. Well done to the Dean team

Staff very friendly. Booked the treat yo self offer and found it good value. Food and drink was lovely. Bathroom fantastic. Bedroom very stylish if a bit small.

Such a funky hotel. The rooms are very cool but also very small. Staff are friendly for the most part. We met one unfriendly girl at reception but the rest made up for her. Food is great but a bit overpriced. We paid ā‚¬207 for one night with no breakfast and brunch was ā‚¬16.50 each

  • 5/5 Sharon D. 2 years ago on Google
Really enjoyed my stay. I love this place, so quirky. So different to any other hotel i have been in. Dinner was excellent but the staff were all just amazing,so friendly and polite and felt so comfortable with them all. Highly recommend this hotel and restaurant.

Great trendy hotel. In many ways reminded me of The Standard hotel in NYC. Good vibes in the lobby (though they were unable to make just a regular gin martini...it's was espresso or nothing). Would like to see the rooftop better leveraged for more than just dining, and parking sorted for guests. Kind of located away from the rest of the city activity, but can be well enjoyed as a stand alone.

  • 3/5 Jackie_Ruairi B. 1 year ago on Google
Staff were all great. Here are some things they could improve onā€¦ 1. Bath towels hanging on the wall over the toilet(touching the lid! Gross! Move them next to the shower where the robes are and put the robes on the back of the door, simple. 2. Itā€™s $20 extra per person on your stay for breakfast, but the most expensive item on the menu they give you to choose from is $15. An extra $5 for being a guest? It should be less if anything. This left a poor taste. The kind of Iā€™m not coming back here taste. 3. Lobby was a night club on arrival. The receptionist and I had to shout at each other? Again all the staff were great.
