A beautiful walk, lovely for kids and adults. Feed the birds or ducks, bring the dog for a stroll. A lovely little playground area for the kids. Ideal for joggers too with a circumference of approx 1 mile on the outer ring, approx 1 km on the inner ring. A nice green area there too for playing ball, Frisbee or picnicking in the Summer. Definitely worth a visit.

Gorgeous spot just south of the main city centre. Quite a bird refuge! Went on a weekend when the weather wasn’t great so not too many people and could find a parking spot. I would imagine when the weather is nice that parking spaces are hard to come by. Nice clean path to walk around the lake, plenty of benches, a spacious green space for games, a playground, and LOTS of birds!

Probably my favourite area of Cork and believe me, so many others could be chosen from. The Lough is almost like the hub of Corks Southside Serenity. You can use it to relax in the sun (reading a book or sitting on the park benches/grass area) or as the pics I've added enjoy the beauty of the snow ❄ cover the Loughs surface. The outside perimeter path is 1km so its ideal for those logging training whether walking or running. Lovely place to bring kids and feed the Ducks & Swans. Simple Serenity. Enjoy.😉

It's such a great place when the weather is fine. Birds are friendly, plus the geese are mad as hatters

This duck pond in Cork City is a very beautiful and popular tourist destination for birdwatchers, nature enthusiasts and people who like walking. I visit The Lough every Saturday and I meet lots of birds including swans, mallards, other ducks, geese, pigeons, rooks, jackdaws, herons, wagtails, hooded crows, etc. The walk by this lake is certainly very serene and includes a playground. I highly recommend this location for birdwatching and walks.

Lough is a mile long walk all around the outer circle. Lovely play area for kids. Just the path around the edge is dangerous for elderly people as it's not a flat surface very bumpy in areas.

The lights come on a little to late. It can be very dark until they come on. Some areas need additional lighting.
